[FairfieldLife] Re: TruthAboutTM.com
Since everyone's coming clean here, I made passes (mostly successful ones, I might add) at women in the TM movement for years, and got away with it scot-clean. In my defense, I was young and ruled by testosterone, not unstressing, and the women were all TM teachers like myself. They seemed pleased to find another teacher who wasn't all gaga about celibacy. I was pleased that they were pleased, and endeavored to please them even more. Not saying David is doing that. Its just the jaded side of me: About two and a half years ago I made a pass [passes are often witty and sweet. We all know the story of unstressing [Was he rounding or giving the course? If he was giving the course, and prone to such heavy unstressing, he should never be teaching such. JohnY Yes it's wimpish not to complain but so few ever do it amazes me! I doubt anyone ever asked for a refund as you have to be a real believer to donate that much in the first place, and so probably of the mindset that thinks MMY can do no wrong. The independent teachers illegally holding courses are doing fine but the ones actually teaching I don't know about there isn't much interest out there these days. The last national centre was owned by international and they put the money to the pundit project. A shame as I was living there and it was rather nice! But we thought it would go to a greater good so didn't min as we had another old mansion to live in, then they sold that. The money collected that got donated was for a new sthpatya place to compliment our first sv village but the people who have brought hopuses there will have to spend extra if they want a community centre now which is hardly fair as they sold their houses to buy the sv ones and then got stung for a 20% compulsory donation to international. A few did pull out, I would have been livid, but then MMY closed the TM movement in England for the flimsiest of reasons. I have been told on very good authority that if we get some more sv villages together we will be allowed back. I for one think we should go our seperate ways if only to save a bit of money! Now there's a new twist - If you build more SV villiages we'll let you back in this one has fund raising possibilities. JohnY I think this 20% donation on SV homes comes from the fact no-one is learning at the moment due to high price of TM. No Hugh, If the 20% donation is what I think it is, it happens because people are willing to pay it (or stupid enough to, depending on your point of view.) How can there be movement related expenses in Scorpion Land, if there is no movement? JohnY I've asked people who want sv homes what they think of the donation and they just accept it without question as part of the deal, some telling themselves it's for the greater good as the money goes to international for little gold crowns, sorry for development projects. And who knows, maybe you can't teach offical TM in it unless it's an 'officially' certified SV House or you can only know the unofficial Self Trying to find certified North, JohnY Yahoo! Pointing-out instruction for everyone: Genpo Roshi's "Big Mind" process:http://www.bigmind.org/http://in.integralinstitute.org/live/view_bigmind.aspx#big_mindhttp://in.integralinstitute.org/contributor.aspx?id=26Big Mind—your Original Face—Nondual Awareness—Spirit itself, is not other than who you are at this very moment. To get us to realize this, many spiritual paths and techniques call us to go beyond the ego, into its source or ground. And rightly so. However, what an integral approach would suggest—and what we find wonderfully exemplified in Genpo Roshi's Big Mind Process—is that in order to transcend the ego, we must include it as well. In order to go beyond—in order to taste the spaceless, timeless Reality—we must integrate what is with us here and now, in space and time. The Big Mind Process befriends the many voices within us—the dualistic voices with which we narrowly identify at one time or another—in order to gently lead us into a recognition of our nondual self. Because the enlightened state is ever-present, we can access it any time. And while a permanent realization of Big Mind requires growth through stages of development, this process is one of the quickest and most reliable ways to give us a taste of this "stateless state" right now. I'm sure it wasn't a very fun thing to talk to one's wife about, especially with rumors flying around. We'll never know. Get over it. There are better things in life to do than get all moralistic about Someone Else's Sexual Peccadillos (or Peccadildos, if you prefer). Let's face it... we're ALL kinky to the max, each in our own ways. And that's Ok. In my case, it was the mid-70s -- post-Pill, pre- AIDS, and a time when pretty much the entire culture where I lived centered on Californication. Add to that being a very obviously non-celibate guy in an organization in which many of the men spent more time making moods than they did making women, and the bottom line was that I made out like a bandit. I don't mean to shock anyone ( too much, anyway :-), but there were six-week ATR courses in which I slept with seven different women, fellow female TM teachers who were all as sexually active as I was. There was a *lot* going on...uh...under the covers of the TM movement in that era. It *is* a lot more complicated when one or both of the people is married. I never ran into that situation; I've always had this thing about not fooling around with women who are Otherwise Involved. But it *could* have happened, and I don't know how I would have reacted and acted if it did. That said, there *is* also something about David's unstressing rap rings true to me. There is some- thing that just *happens* when you stand in front of a large group of people and have their attention focused on you. Many of them, especially if they are meditating several hours a day, develop a bad case of Fuck The Course Leader Syndrome. I've had it aimed at me -- and submitted to it -- many times. You can get really *bent* when the attention of several dozen or several hundred unstressing meditators is focused on you. You can wind up doing some seriously stupid shit. So I join with the others here who have applauded David on his reply. Those who pretend that only others do stupid shit and who get all moralistic about the stupid things they might have done are, in my opinion, fooling themselves. They've done stupid shit, too. We all have. It goes with the territory of being a human being. Yahoo! Two of the devils in the back- ground are talking, one of them saying to the other, We've got to watch this guy...he's got a bad attitude. Exactly, and that is the other side so to speak of the experience of Brahman, the non-dual Reality infusing Everything, and on the other side, literally *Everything*. The *Everything* is now found in the context of the non-dual Reality. So a perfect choice now exists: on the one hand, enjoy the non-dual state while engaging in infinitely diverse activity, OR enjoy primarily one of an infinite set of activities, infused with the non-dual state. No contradiction, whether focused on the One shining on the Many, or the Many infused with the One. The Key is mastering the perfect coordination between the One and the Many, so that a greater coordinated, infinitely random Reality is achieved, always changing, yet always Perfection. Experientially, this leads to a more self-sufficient existence, allowing us to, as you said, push wheelbarrows in Hell, while whistling. Every experience, every action is perfectly carried out, due to the seamless coordination between the One and the Many. Yahoo! Re: [FairfieldLife] DC Course Discussion
There are lots of different subject titles for this discussion. The best thing to do is to list the message index beginning at message 78759 and work forward from there. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/messages/78759 The discussion actually begins before message 78759 and appears to began at message 78607, but it looks like akasha goes not get into the statistics until message 78759. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/message/78607 --- gullible fool [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/message/78759 --- gullible fool [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FairfieldLife/message/78791 --- Rick Archer [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Some months ago here, there was a lively discussion about the big course in DC. [FairfieldLife] OT Kaalidaasa's Kumaara-saMbhava
Kumaara-sambhava (Kumaara's Occasioning), usually translated `The Birth of the War-god', a mahaakavya relating how Parvati won the love of Siva in order to bring into the world Kumara (i.e. Karttikeya) the god of war to destroy the demon Taraka. The last few cantos are usually omitted from printed versions, being of an excessively erotic nature. This is especially true of Canto VIII where the embraces of the newly- wedded divine couple are dwelled upon in vivid detail. Yahoo!
