[FairfieldLife] Re: TruthAboutTM.com

2006-02-23 Thread TurquoiseB
Since everyone's coming clean here, I made passes
(mostly successful ones, I might add) at women
in the TM movement for years, and got away with
it scot-clean.

In my defense, I was young and ruled by testosterone,
not unstressing, and the women were all TM teachers
like myself. They seemed pleased to find another
teacher who wasn't all gaga about celibacy. I was
pleased that they were pleased, and endeavored to
please them even more. End of story.

  Yes, it is.

I agree that its nice to have a TMO / MIU leader step up to the
plate.
And I am probably an awful person (well, actually that has been
well
established by others), but over the years of Clinton / Bush etc,
AND
the TMO, I have become more sensitive to parsing and spinning. Not
saying David is doing that. Its just the jaded side of me:

About two and a half years ago I made a pass [passes are often
witty
and sweet. For such a fuss to be made sounds more direct, blatant
and
perhaps coercive] at a kitchen staff person on a weekend course.

She was not a course participant [how much of an age difference?
Over
 40 years? ],

and I was not naked [in your underwear? or a suit and tie?].

And contrary to the rumor, I have never before or since made a pass
[ok. No passes as you may variably define them. Anything else?
Any
sexual relations, other than with own wife, with MUI, MUM, MERU, or
TMO students, staff, cps, wives, etc.? ] at any course
participant, or
staff [OK, anyone else-- a student at MUM, perhaps, a superradiance
participant, MD, wife of a townsperson, etc?].

We all know the story of unstressing [Was he rounding or giving the
course? If he was giving the course, and prone to such heavy
unstressing, he should never be teaching such. If he got so
f*cked up
by weekend rounding, he should not be rounding.]

[I rounded for 6 and 12 month stints and never made a pass. The
goat
incident doesn't count] ; it is no excuse, but it is a reality.

Yes it's wimpish not to complain but so few ever do it amazes
me! I
doubt anyone ever asked for a refund as you have to be a real
believer to donate that much in the first place, and so probably
of
the mindset that thinks MMY can do no wrong.

The independent teachers illegally holding courses are doing
fine
but the ones actually teaching I don't know about there isn't
much
interest out there these days.

The last national centre was owned by international and they put
the
money to the pundit project. A shame as I was living there and
it
  was
rather nice! But we thought it would go to a greater good so
didn't
min as we had another old mansion to live in, then they sold
that.
The money collected that got donated was for a new sthpatya
place
to compliment our first sv village but the people who have
brought
hopuses there will have to spend extra if they want a community
centre now which is hardly fair as they sold their houses to buy
the
sv ones and then got stung for a 20% compulsory donation to
international. A few did pull out, I would have been livid, but
then
MMY closed the TM movement in England for the flimsiest of
reasons.
  I
have been told on very good authority that if we get some more
sv
villages together we will be allowed back. I for one think we
should
go our seperate ways if only to save a bit of money!

Now there's a new twist - If you build more SV villiages we'll let
you
back in this one has fund raising possibilities.

   JohnY

I think this 20% donation on SV homes comes from the fact no-one
is
learning at the moment due to high price of TM.

No Hugh, If the 20% donation is what I think it is, it happens because
people are willing to pay it (or stupid enough to, depending on your
point of view.) How can there be movement related expenses in Scorpion
Land, if there is no movement?

 JohnY

I've asked people who want sv homes what they think of the donation
and they just accept it without question as part of the deal, some
telling themselves it's for the greater good as the money goes to
international for little gold crowns, sorry for development projects.

1999/2000, we were visited by a movement PR man raising funds for
Doug Hennings veda land. He gave us a presentation that comprised of
focus group bullsh*t, financial projections and some pretty amazing
predictions about floating houses. (believe it when I see it).

There was then an any questions session when people asked how far
Doug had taken the project and how Doug was in general etc. We were
told it's a dead cert and Doug is totally committed to the project
and is a really great guy etc.

We were then told the minimum invetsment was $50,000 and application
forms were handed out, The course leaders told the PR guy (who's name
I forget unfortunately) who the richest CP's were and we courted
there generosity for a few days and then left (first class!)

Imagine my surprise when we heard a week later that Doug Henning was
dead and had been seriously ill for a long time. I was staggered at
the cynicism of the whole venture and the bare-faced lies of the man
took my breath away, he must be completely soul-less to have the
nerve to stand up and say all that crap with a straight face.

And did anyone get a refund?

No way. We did collect a lot of money in Norway many years ago to
one of the numerous projects in Norway - which never came through. I
asked the National Leader to pay the money back to the donators -
because I thought about the future, if we had to ask for money to
another project.
The answer was No. The result was that the donations dried out -.
The money and the TMO is very disappointing and dishonest.

And who knows, maybe you can't teach offical TM in it unless it's an
'officially' certified SV House or you can only know the
unofficial Self

Trying to find certified North,

[FairfieldLife] Pointing-out instruction for everyone

2006-02-23 Thread Vaj

Pointing-out instruction for everyone: Genpo Roshi's "Big Mind" process:http://www.bigmind.org/http://in.integralinstitute.org/live/view_bigmind.aspx#big_mindhttp://in.integralinstitute.org/contributor.aspx?id=26Big Mind—your Original Face—Nondual Awareness—Spirit itself, is not other than who you are at this very moment. To get us to realize this, many spiritual paths and techniques call us to go beyond the ego, into its source or ground. And rightly so. However, what an integral approach would suggest—and what we find wonderfully exemplified in Genpo Roshi's Big Mind Process—is that in order to transcend the ego, we must include it as well. In order to go beyond—in order to taste the spaceless, timeless Reality—we must integrate what is with us here and now, in space and time. The Big Mind Process befriends the many voices within us—the dualistic voices with which we narrowly identify at one time or another—in order to gently lead us into a recognition of our nondual self. Because the enlightened state is ever-present, we can access it any time. And while a permanent realization of Big Mind requires growth through stages of development, this process is one of the quickest and most reliable ways to give us a taste of this "stateless state" right now.

like so ahead of you guys on that one.

Student 1: After we meditate, will you finally give us that field
trip you promised of the best places to peep at hot women sunbathing
in the nude?

Dr. Sutphen: Well, ok. But only after we check out the kitchen staff.
But first ponder, who is the I that seeks to see hot women students
sunbathing in the nude?

Pointing-out instruction for everyone: Genpo Roshi's Big Mind
process:

 http://www.bigmind.org/

 http://in.integralinstitute.org/live/view_bigmind.aspx#big_mind

 http://in.integralinstitute.org/contributor.aspx?id=26

 Big Mind—your Original Face—Nondual Awareness—Spirit itself, is
not
other than who you are at this very moment. To get us to realize
this, many spiritual paths and techniques call us to go beyond
the
ego, into its source or ground. And rightly so. However, what an
integral approach would suggest—and what we find wonderfully
exemplified in Genpo Roshi's Big Mind Process—is that in order to
transcend the ego, we must include it as well. In order to go
beyond—
in order to taste the spaceless, timeless Reality—we must
integrate
what is with us here and now, in space and time.

The Big Mind Process befriends the many voices within us—the
dualistic voices with which we narrowly identify at one time or
another—in order to gently lead us into a recognition of our
nondual
self. Because the enlightened state is ever-present, we can access
it
any time. And while a permanent realization of Big Mind requires
growth through stages of development, this process is one of the
quickest and most reliable ways to give us a taste of
this stateless
 state right now.

Thanks- I really enjoy all of these different perspectives on
Brahman. I appreciate the emphasis here to integrate what we are
here and now, that we won't somehow be someone else when we
permanently realize Big Mind, as the author calls it.

This is the process as I experience it; to over time integrate every
experience of ours, rid ourselves of all experiential awkwardness
with our Selves, until all experience and all states of mind are
experienced without losing our natural non-dual stateThen, and
only then, the FUN begins!

There are flames and devils everywhere. The heat

 participant, or
staff [OK, anyone else-- a student at MUM, perhaps, a
superradiance
participant, MD, wife of a townsperson, etc?].

We all know the story of unstressing [Was he rounding or giving
the

We'll never know. Get over it.

There are better things in life to do than get all
moralistic about Someone Else's Sexual Peccadillos
(or Peccadildos, if you prefer). Let's face it...
we're ALL kinky to the max, each in our own ways.
And that's Ok.

In my case, it was the mid-70s -- post-Pill, pre-
AIDS, and a time when pretty much the entire
culture where I lived centered on Californication.
Add to that being a very obviously non-celibate
guy in an organization in which many of the men
spent more time making moods than they did making
women, and the bottom line was that I made out like
a bandit. I don't mean to shock anyone ( too much,
anyway :-), but there were six-week ATR courses in
which I slept with seven different women, fellow
female TM teachers who were all as sexually active
as I was. There was a *lot* going on...uh...under
the covers of the TM movement in that era.

It *is* a lot more complicated when one or both of
the people is married. I never ran into that situation;
I've always had this thing about not fooling around
with women who are Otherwise Involved. But it *could*
have happened, and I don't know how I would have
reacted and acted if it did.

That said, there *is* also something about David's
unstressing rap rings true to me. There is some-
thing that just *happens* when you stand in front
of a large group of people and have their attention
focused on you. Many of them, especially if they are
meditating several hours a day, develop a bad case
of Fuck The Course Leader Syndrome. I've had it
aimed at me -- and submitted to it -- many times.
You can get really *bent* when the attention of
several dozen or several hundred unstressing
meditators is focused on you. You can wind up
doing some seriously stupid shit.

So I join with the others here who have applauded
David on his reply. Those who pretend that only
others do stupid shit and who get all moralistic
about the stupid things they might have done are,
in my opinion, fooling themselves. They've done
stupid shit, too. We all have. It goes with the
territory of being a human being.

Well, gee, that is about 5% of the entire MUM student body.

I dare some established college like UCLA or ASU to get close to 1%
of the student body commenting on any one professor!

Of course, UCLA and ASU each probably have more than 50,000 students

But, hey, the TMO is no stranger to skewering statistics whenever it
suits their purposes so why not do it here?

[FairfieldLife] Physicist to Present New Exact Solution of Einstein's Gravitational Field Equation

2006-02-23 Thread Vaj

http://www.physorg.com/news10789.htmlNew antigravity solution will enable space travel near speed of light by the end of this century, he predicts. On Tuesday, Feb. 14, noted physicist Dr. Franklin Felber will present his new exact solution of Einstein's 90-year-old gravitational field equation to the Space Technology and Applications International Forum (STAIF) in Albuquerque. The solution is the first that accounts for masses moving near the speed of light.

Some months ago here, there was a lively discussion about the big course in DC. As I recall, Akasha_108 was chiming in with some pretty sophisticated statistical observations. I mentioned this discussion to David OJ and he said he would like to see it and possibly comment on it. Can anyone come up with a post number at which he should begin reading the discussion?

Exactly, and that is the other side so to speak of the experience of
Brahman, the non-dual Reality infusing Everything, and on the other
side, literally *Everything*.

The *Everything* is now found in the context of the non-dual
Reality. So a perfect choice now exists: on the one hand, enjoy the
non-dual state while engaging in infinitely diverse activity, OR
enjoy primarily one of an infinite set of activities, infused with
the non-dual state.

No contradiction, whether focused on the One shining on the Many, or
the Many infused with the One.

The Key is mastering the perfect coordination between the One and
the Many, so that a greater coordinated, infinitely random Reality
is achieved, always changing, yet always Perfection.

Experientially, this leads to a more self-sufficient existence,
allowing us to, as you said, push wheelbarrows in Hell, while
whistling.

Every experience, every action is perfectly carried out, due to the
seamless coordination between the One and the Many.

There are lots of different subject titles for this

message index beginning at message 78759 and work
forward from there.

The discussion actually begins before message 78759

like akasha goes not get into the statistics until

[FairfieldLife] OT Kaalidaasa's Kumaara-saMbhava

2006-02-23 Thread cardemaister

 Kumaara-sambhava (Kumaara's Occasioning), usually translated `The
Birth of the War-god', a mahaakavya relating how Parvati won the love
of Siva in order to bring into the world Kumara (i.e. Karttikeya) the
god of war to destroy the demon Taraka. The last few cantos are usually
omitted from printed versions, being of an excessively erotic nature.
This is especially true of Canto VIII where the embraces of the newly-
wedded divine couple are dwelled upon in vivid detail.
