Re: [Felvtalk] Another plea for our FELV+ mom
Have you found a home or her yet? I am praying for both of you. Kelley Saveika moonv...@gmail.com wrote: She has been spayed - they tested her at that time. She's asymptomatic at this time. The kittens were taken from her and I'm not quite sure their status at this moment. I will ask. I know we took 10 kittens to the Humane Society (NO KILL, we would not take them somewhere to be killed, we are just completely out of foster space). I'm sure she has or had fleas, I will ask Denis. I feel colonies with Denis but not this colony. I will forward this email to him and let him get in touch with you as he knows more than I do. THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving this baby a chance. I am little hesitant to put any stress on my little healthy felv+ cat, but if you think your felv+ girl is okay with another cat and not currently exhibiting signs of the disease, I could try it. Do you know how old she is, clearly she's not spayed, or has she been now? What happened with the kittens? Any signs of anemia or opportunistic infections? Fleas, etc? Also, I live in Wisconsin. Not sure where you're at. I have some free time in July if you're not too far I could take a small road trip. Well, let me know. Re: [Felvtalk] Another plea for our FELV+ mom
Hi Natalie, Unfortunately Siamese are a dime a dozen around here. I used to volunteer for the local breed rescue group and they will only take cats from the public with a sizeable donation and certainly not a feral FELV+ cat. Most rescues around here focus on getting cats out of kill shelters. We are trying, much as I hate it, BFAS. I am checking to see exactly how feral this cat is, but really this group is my last ditch effort. There is a FELV sanctuary in the next town but they have rejected her already. If it becomes necessary, I think it would be kinder to have her PTS at the vet rather than be at the shelter terrified for 3 day stray hold and then killed anyway.
