2013-05-17 Thread natalia Vikhtinskaya
Yes, I saw this link and that does not help. In Metro mode only Adobe.com
plays!. I read a lot of questions about that problem in Internet without
any working solution.
I also found another problem. Flash plays only in Desk mode and only from
Internet. If the html with flash runs from my pc flash is blocked and I
should click on the message and unblock it.

If anybody know how to solve the second problem please help.

  To all problems that Flash has I found new.
  I tested some flash sites in Windows 8 Metro and found that some pages
 with
  flash sites does not play. Adobe.com plays well. What reason can be for
  other sites?
  Some sites said you need to upgrate you Flash player if they use
 swfobject,
  some just nothing show.

 I dont think that setting the alpha to true was your problem.
 It may not be showing anything because it may be making ALL the
 pixels transparent?

I assume that's what's happening, yes, but I don't know how to change that. How
could I set the alpha in

_fire = new BitmapData(865, 92, false, 0xff);

to true for *just* certain bitmap data? I don't imagine that's possible, and
therein, I believe, lies my problem.

 Maybe look into that? Also try blendmode overlay. That may help the
 opaque pixels lay over the transparent ones. or vice versa
 I don't have an example per say, but had the same problem with a php
 image creation script I was writing and the blendmode overlay helped
 there.
 May do the same for you.

Yeah, no such luck, Karl. I forgot to mention I tried every combination to see
what would happen. If there were some way I could catch the values, for
example, coming out of this function:

private function _createPalette(idx:int):void {
_redArray = [];
_greenArray = [];
_blueArray = [];
_alphaArray = [];
for (var i:int = 0; i  256; i++) {
var gp:int = new int();
gp = _fireColor.getPixel(i, 0);
if (gp  1050112)
{
_redArray.push(255);
_alphaArray.push(255);
} else {
_redArray.push(gp);
_alphaArray.push(0);
}
_greenArray.push(0);
_blueArray.push(0);
}
}

where I catch the values under a certain numeric value in my if statement with
the var gp, then somehow set the alpha of those values to 0 and leave the rest
at alpha=1, I'd be set, but I can't figure out how to do that.
TIA,
George

2010-07-26 Thread John Singleton
Hi;
I have this code:

function InitRotateGears()
{
for (var i = 0; i  gearsPaths.length; i++)
{
RotateGears();
displayGearsCounter += 1;
}

function RotateGears()
{
var path:String = new String();
path = gearsPaths[displayGearsCounter];
var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest(path);
var loader:Loader = new Loader();
loader.load(req);

loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,RotateGearsLoaded);
}

function RotateGearsLoaded(e:Event):void
{
var loaderInfo:LoaderInfo = e.target as LoaderInfo;
var displayObject:DisplayObject = loaderInfo.content;
displayObject.width = gearWidths[displayGearsCounter];
displayObject.height = gearHeights[displayGearsCounter];
//displayObject.x = - gearWidths[displayGearsCounter];
//displayObject.y = - gearWidths[displayGearsCounter];
displayObject.x = 0;
displayObject.y = 0;
parent_container.addChild(displayObject);
parent_container.x = 0;
parent_container.y = 0;
parent_container.alpha = 1;
addChild(parent_container);
var myTimeline:TimelineLite = new TimelineLite({useFrames:true});
myTimeline.append(new TweenMax(parent_container, 1,
{shortRotation:{rotation:gearAngles[displayGearsCounter]}}));
}
}

The problem is that displayGearsCounter traces to value 8 every iteration in
function RotateGearsLoaded(). It increments when traced in the other two
functions. Why is that? I tried to pass that var like this:

loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,RotateGearsLoaded(displayGearsCounter));

however the compiler complained that two variables were expected and only one
passed. If I don't pass that var, somehow the e:Event var gets passed, and I
don't understand that either.
TIA,
John

RotateGearsLoaded returns void, not Function. The return value is not a
legal listener. Yet you are calling it here to get the listener to add.

Remember, you are not the one calling the listener, thusly, you can't
decide the arguments.

Hi,

   If you google Flex + [Embed] that will give you lots of tutorials,
but simply, the [Embed] meta-tag in AS3 allows the compiler to embed
external assets like images and fonts at compile time... You can use
similar methodology as you do for Flash CS4 for Pure AS3 classesput your
[Embed] code in that, then declare a class for it underneath - you can
instanciate the class in the same code or you can use the mx:Style
property to include fonts and apply them:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/quickstart/embedding_assets/

   HTH

   Glen

   Example 1, pure AS3:
public class Main extends flash.display.Sprite
   [Embed(systemFont=Aharoni, fontName='TextFont',
fontWeight='bold', unicodeRange='U+002C-U+005A',
mimeType='application/x-font') ]

   private var AnotherClass:Class;

   protected function addedToStageHandler(event:Event):void {

   label = new TextField();
   label.htmlText = TESTING 123;
   label.embedFonts = true;

   var format:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
   //You can refer to your font by fonName anywhere in the SWF
- e.g. from another class once it's embedded.

   format.font = TextFont;
   format.bold = true;
   format.color = 0xFF;
label.setTextFormat(format);
   }
}

Example 2 in a Flex stylesheet:

@font-face {
   src:url(../embedded_assets/fonts/verdana.ttf);
   font-family:Verdana;
}
@font-face {
   src:url(../embedded_assets/fonts/verdanab.ttf);
   font-family:Verdana;
   font-weight:bold;
}
.alertButton {
   font-family:Verdana;
}

Thanks Paul,
Sorry for forgetting the subject line. Won't happen again ;-)
You're right about the Object as an Array I guess I can just create
an associative array instead of an object, althoug Moock states that
both approaches are common practice.
I solved (or rather circumvented) my problem by comparing the names
of myObj and the item clicked

Your idea was nice, but it didn't solve my problem.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough, but I have a lot of 'myArray''s and I
need to know which property 'select' to set when clicking an item -
the 'select' that is in the same array as the item clicked on.

The theoretical problem remains: myArray knows it contains item1 but
does item1 have a way of knowing it is part of myArray?

RE: [Flashcoders] (no subject)

2010-03-01 Thread Merrill, Jason
You're just on the verge of breaking into a coding architecture question
here, which is good. My suggestion to avoid this issue is to get away
from generic objects as you are doing here and define everything as a
class.

class MySpecialClass extends MovieClip

So you'll never ever use new Object(). You'll use new MySpecialClass()
instead.

Then, you'll want to start thinking in terms of a design pattern - even
just a very simplified version of MVC. For example, have a data class
that manipulares data (i.e. a Model class) - have a view class that
checks what the value is, and changes the MySpecialClass instances
accordingly. How to make that happen? Have a controller class listen
to those instances for when they are clicked on, and when they are, get
the value from the model, and tell the MySpecialClass instances to
change visually.

Drag a scrollbar on the stage, double click it and change the graphics
for the different states.

Now if you have anything with a scrollbar in your movie, the local
edited copy of the component should override the default graphics.

Try it by adding a text field on stage, setting it to a fixed height,
drag a scrollbar onto it, fill text field with text lines height of
text field, test movie...

Hello

change
 this.infoclip.info_txt.text = txt+ image1
to
this.infoclip.info_txt.text = [txt+image1];
or
this.infoclip.info_txt.text = this[txt+image1];

Basically, this[variableStringReference] evaluates the string,
txt+image1, as a variable name, which points to 'txt1', 'txt2', ...
assuming image1 = 1, etc

 Hi all
 I have this problem, I'm making photo gallery and for each photo
 there are description text so first I made many var string for text

 var txt2:String = this is text 2;
 var txt3:String = this is text 3;
 var txt4:String = this is text 4;
 var txt5:String = this is text 5;

 and I create dynamic text info_txt
 then I load the images using var image1
 my_mcl5.loadClip(images/cate1/big/big+image1
 +.jpg,_root.main.big_prev);

 now i want to use the same var image1 to load the text but the
 problem how to wirte it, if i but
 this.infoclip.info_txt.text = txt+ image1
 i get in the text box stinf txt1 or 2 what ever the value of image1
 if i use this.infoclip.info_txt.text = txt +image1
 I get error
 can anyone tell me what to do

You can try this:

this.infoclip.info_txt.text = this[txt+ image1]

But the best way of doing this would be to use an array:

var txts:Array = new Array();
txts[1] = this is text 1;
txts[2] = this is text 2;
txts[3] = this is text 3;
txts[4] = this is text 4;
txts[5] = this is text 5;

this.infoclip.info_txt.text = txts[image1];

You need to add the 'var' keyword for your iterator in the for loop. You
also need to change your comparison evaluator to '' and not ''. For your
second error, SimpleButton doesn't have a text property you can set. See:

AFAIK, there is no other Button-type class aside from SimpleButton in AS3's
libraries. You could extend SimpleButton and add in a TextField. Then create
a wrapper method to set the text property on your extended button to set the
text on the TextField within.

Subject: [Flashcoders] (no subject)

hi coder I had to fragment my thread , I'm trying to create a loop in
a as project in flex, in order to set up some buttons, this is the
code for the loop (which is not working and gave me errors every
single
time I run .

public function buttons():void{
//line 52// for (i=0; imyArray.length;
i++){
var myButtons:SimpleButton = new
SimpleButton();
//line
54//myButtons.text(myArray[i]);
addChild(myButtons);
}

and these are the errors:

1120: Access of undefined property i.   template1   template1.asline
52

1061: Call to a possibly undefined method text through a reference
with static type flash.display:SimpleButton.template1   template1.as

line 54

If you have some ideas about how to do this simple thing , I'd
appreciate any help.

Regards

 AFAIK, there is no other Button-type class aside from SimpleButton in AS3's

 a wrapper method to set the text property on your extended button to set the

Make sure your DIV has an ID

Call a Javascript function that goes something like this

var s = document.getElementById('swfDIVid');
s.style.display=none;

}

if you need it to appear again JS...

s.style.display=block;

[Flashcoders] (no subject)

2007-03-03 Thread 2 lakes

 You are basically
breaking the path of light when you touch the screen. So it can detect
multiple touches

The demo interfaces look so awesome! does anyone know any details on
the package used to develop the UI?

Jeff is quoted as saying that he thought of the idea when he was
drinking a glass of water at a cafe.

The 'frustrated' light occurs when you change the surface of a
'typically' glass or plastic plane which has light bouncing through
it. For example;
those lurid black light sign boards you might find in stores which
you write on with marker pens, and in optical fibre lamps. ( although
in this the method is not analogous to Jeff's use because it uses
fractures in the glass fibre wall)

Jeff's application uses a camera to see the shifts in brightness when
fingers create new paths for the light.

Bringing all this back to our interests:

Someone(??? where's that link!) demoed using a web cam interface in
flash where buttons had been placed on swf over the web cam image so
anyone using the web cam could trigger flash events in the source
webcam space.This could be wired up to an RGB pixel checker and off
you go.

2007-02-16 Thread Gustavo Duenas
hi, I'm doing something pretty simple, I have a movie clipo which
starts drag, I'd like to move this in the x axis, but I don't know
how to program this to launch an event if the x axis is positive and
other is the x axis is negative,
or simpler how can I trigger an event is the movie clip is moving
right and trigger other event is the movieClip is moving left

any ideas?

so far I'm using this.

var xright = this._x+1;
var xleft = this._x-1;

if (this._x==xright){
launching
}
if(this._x==xleft){
launching2
}

RE: [Flashcoders] (no subject)

2007-02-16 Thread Holth, Daniel C.

You need to keep track of the previous x value and compare that to the
new x value. The simplest way to achieve this is an onEnterFrame
function (although note this is the least efficient way).

For example try putting a movie clip called ball_mc on your stage and
add this code to the first frame, run it and try dragging the movie clip
around.

var oldX:Number = ball_mc._x;

onEnterFrame = function(){
if(ball_mc._x  oldX){
trace(is moving right);
} else if (ball_mc._x  oldX){
trace(is moving left);
} else {
trace(not moving along x axis);
}
oldX = ball_mc._x;
}

ball_mc.onPress = startDrag;
ball_mc.onRelease = stopDrag;

Hope that helps!

Omar,
 That's because Gmail is intelligent enough to not repeat emails back
to you. You'll find that emails to listservs appear in your Sent
folder, but won't appear in your Inbox unless someone replies to them.
This isn't because your emails aren't reaching the list - it's simply
because Gmail doesn't want to spam you with extra copies of your own
mail.

If you just want to know the URL the person came from rather than
visiting it.

JavaScript:

document.referrer

PHP:

$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
//Note the misspelling of referrer - the misspelling is correct.

Not sure about the former, but don't rely on the latter as many clients
/ AV progs seem to block this.

I won't pretend to know about ASP.

Hi, does anyone has ideas bout how to preload better the components,
I have a movie which is loaded into a loader component with a
progress bar, and this movie has a scroll bar component,
and it seems like sometime, I don't know how, It doesn't load
properly and appears incomplete.

I did the unlock the linkage about export in the first frame and also
the settings loading classes in the frame two(one was for default),
and also I have copied and erased a scroll bar component also in the
main movie...so

do you have any ideas.

I apologize if this does not relate directly to an AS issue. I'm building a
flash application that is going to sit on the desktop and act as a glorified
screensaver with some intense animations and video (via FLV).

As such, I've been give too models of PC builds to support my application.
Which one of these builds looks like it would handle intense Flash animations
and full screen video most appropriately?

Also, does flash use the video card at all for flash video? Would it be apt to
get more RAM or a better video card for the sort of thing I'm doing.

Here are my two options:

HP DC7700 with RX027AV Intel PD 935 (3.2/800/2x2M)

My guess would be that memory in excess of 1 GB would be almost useless

The function look like this:

private function nextSlide():Void {

  container_1_x -= image_width;
  container_2_x -= image_width;

  if(slide_num == 2){
   container_2_x = image_width;
   if(image_container_2_mc.getDepth()  image_container_1_mc.getDepth()
)
image_container_1_mc.swapDepths(image_container_2_mc);
  }

  if(slide_num == total_slides){
   container_1_x = image_width;
   if(image_container_1_mc.getDepth()  image_container_2_mc.getDepth()
)
image_container_2_mc.swapDepths(image_container_1_mc);
  }

  ZigoEngine.doTween({target:image_container_1_mc, x:container_1_x,
seconds:2, ease:easeOutQuart});
  ZigoEngine.doTween({target:image_container_2_mc, x:container_2_x,
seconds:2, ease:easeOutQuart});

 }

There are image_container in order to make a image carouse. I am afraid
that it does not help any!

2006-12-07 Thread Devine, Rich (Techlink Resources)
Hello all,

This is my first post to the forums, so please forgive and feel free to
send constructive criticisms regarding any protocols I may have
accidentally missed.

I have a rather complex (at least for me) issue that I am running into
with the combo box component. I dynamically create several movieclips
via a template system (which are draggable), each of which is made up of
multiple form elements including the combo box. I put the entire
template on a layer called assets (for illustation purposes, think of
these as dynamically added rows in a table).

The first issue I noticed was that the FONTS in the combo box and linked
dropdown were inconsistent. Secondly, the asset layer(s) were resized to
accommodate the length of the dropdowns when the button (the v next to
the combo box) was clicked but not resized when the combo box was
closed. Initially I thought this was simply a style setting (to address
the fonts) and swapDepths setting (to bring the currently selected combo
to the top of the layer stacking order), but neither seemed to work. It
was at this point that I read about the _lockroot = true; fix . . .
which did seem to fix both the above issues, but ONLY when added to the
Asset layer and now I am seeing the dropdowns displaying behind the text
area of the combo box directly below it. I have tried everything from
changing the swapDepths on the dropdown to cycling through all of the
other combo boxes / asset layer rows and toggling their lockroot status
(swapping true for currently selected and false for everything else).
Nothing has worked and I am absolutely out of ideas. Any help would be
GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Rich

2006-12-07 Thread Steven Sacks | BLITZ
ComboBoxes draw their dropdowns on the _root. If you lock the root in a
nested clip, they'll draw their dropdowns there. This is why you're
getting z-index problems.

Second, if you're having an issue where _height is not returning the
true _height, then store the original height in a variable and use that.

Here is some pseudocode:

var originalHeight:Number = _height;

function getCurrentHeight():Number
{
if (_height  originalHeight  myComboBoxIsClosed) {
return originalHeight;
} else {
return _height;
}
}

I have been watching this list for a while before this my first post.

I have taken a copy of a project to my computer from the server to allow
me to developer further and to let others continue build the project. So
all classes has the same relative path to each other. The strange thing
is that when I run the project it is the classes from the project on the
server that's load not the local ones. And both the class paths for the
project and the general class path do not point to the classes on the
server. Does any one have an explanation / a cure for the problem.
