First off, I'd like to thank Harry Forbes for his effort at archiving the
list messages on one of the Foxboro forum servers. Unfortunately, his not
having root privileges on that box proved fatal to the effort. Thanks
anyway, Harry.

I recently tried a different tack at providing archive for the list, and I
think I've come up with a reasonable solution at mail-archive.com. The
messages are archived automatically and they also provide search capability
on the archived messages. (Stan Brown ought to be happy to know that they
use htdig for their search engine.)

The archive is accessible here:

 http://www.mail-archive.com/foxboro%40lists.thecassandraproject.org/

They claim to index and provide search access to all archived messages,
although only the most recent 3000 messages are shown. Over the weekend I
fed about 2700 messages dated back to January 2000 to the archive, and they
are mostly there by now, although they haven't all been indexed for
searching yet.

(A problem: the messages that were sent in fancy text have been horribly
mangled when I bounced them to the server for archiving, although the recent
ones that were archived as they were delivered fare much better. You'll know
it when you come across one.)

More information about mail-archive.com is available in the FAQ:

 http://www.mail-archive.com/faq.html

Please let me know if you have any question.

Regards,

Duc

Hi team,
I am sending operator actions alarms and blocks alarms to a PC (Imac ICS)

displayed and arckived. The PC ports replace LP00 and LP01 connections on

the system alarms are still on the OKIDATA printer LP04, they still depend

Do the data sent through the COMMP have the same format for LP00/LP01 and

I would like to display and archive these system

The only problem with the new archive is that it is under the "forbidden"

RE: FoxCAE Enhancements (enclosure loading)

2001-08-27 Thread Stephan Meyer

Tim,

There will be a description on how to import information from SysDef
into FoxCAE as part of the user notes for 4.2. Please see the following
extract.

Stephan Meyer
CAE-Tools, Inc.
781 784 3368

Import SysDEF Export File into FoxCAE

To import modules and station names with their types from SysDEF follow
the instructions
below.

1. In SysDEF, create a backup diskette (export diskette).

2. On a UNIX system VT100 or AW70 nutcracker window, extract the SysDEF
tar diskette
into a temporary directory (e.g., \tmp\sysdef).

3. Copy the files staout.dat and modout.dat to a floppy disk or network
location and rename them to staout.txt and modout.txt.

4. On the FoxCAE station, copy these files into the directory:
\FoxCAE42\ImpExp\SysDef.

5. In FoxCAE, open the Dataforms window and select the Import/Export
tab.

6. Click on the Path button to select the directory:
\FoxCAE42\ImpExp\SysDef.

7. The SysDEF files are comma delimited files and the appropriate type
has to be selected in the list of available types. The files staout and
modout should be displayed in the list of files. The contents can be
viewed with the View and Browse buttons.

Refer to Computer Aided Engineering for I/A Series R Control Station
Databases, FoxCAE Version 4.0
(B0193MR) for more details on how to import and compare external data
files.

RE: Ethernet port

2001-08-27 Thread Johnson, Alex (Foxboro)

Here is the complete information:

There are 2 QFs. One for the "le driver" and 1 for the "hme driver".

The le QF is appiled to 51A, 51B and 51C type stations.
The hme QF is applied to 51D and 51E type stations.

So, the table is:

Device Station Types QF
le 51a/b/c QF990944C
hme 51d/e QF992053B

I would make sure that anyone who is connected to a corporate network
install the correct QF for their machine. Check with your FS personnel for
more information.

Hi everyone,

I have a problem on the second ethernet port of an AW51, coneccted to the
corporate network. Suddenly it ceased to recognize the network as if we
diconeccted the cable (if you try a ping from the network it would not answer).
No need to say that we already checked that we have network signal at that port.
Is there any way to force the AW to rescan/reset this port without rebooting it?
Thank you all in advance.

RE: Ethernet port

2001-08-27 Thread Forbes, Harry

Martin,

I suggest that you read the manual page for ifconfig.

You can completely reconfigure a network interface in Solaris without
rebooting.

RE: Ethernet port

2001-08-27 Thread Johnson, Alex (Foxboro)

The ifconfig command can be used to reconfigure the port.

There is an update to the Ethernet driver to fix a number of defects. You
need to contact the Customer Satisfaction Center and ask about a QF for the
Ethernet Driver on 50 Series AWs. I don't remember the QF number.

Colors on I/A Box with Solaris

2001-08-27 Thread Weiss, Andreas

Thanks for the archive

http://www.mail-archive.com/foxboro%40lists.thecassandraproject.org/

I haven't found any information about the problems with the color on the
Solaris station.

"No matches were found for 'color'"
"Please check your spelling or try a different query. "

My question:

How should an third party application be designed for using Open GL and
avoiding problems with I/A colors?

What should a programmer do and avoid to do???

Andreas

RE: Ethernet port

What do you see when you run 'ifconfig -a'? Here's the response from one of
my D-style boxes:

21AW01-dmdo> ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=849 mtu 8232
inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff00
hme0: flags=863 mtu 1500
inet 151.128.21.65 netmask broadcast 151.128.255.255
hme1: flags=863 mtu 1500
inet 151.163.74.51 netmask f800 broadcast 151.163.79.255

Hope this helps.

[ADMIN] List Archive

2001-08-27 Thread duc . do

Regards,

Duc
