My first thought is convert table to text and back again. This simple
trick can save a lot of bother. From what you say, you have
Cell 1: Icon Cell 2: paratag Cell 3: text

Conversion gives you
Icon Tab paratag Tab text
(You can specify that cell divisions are tabs, semi-colons, whatever.)

Then you just remove the second Tab so you have
Icon Tab paratag text

Convert that back to a table, and you should have
Cell 1: Icon Cell 2 paratag text

Marking a table gives you the choice of Table Convert to Paragraphs...
Marking text block gives you Table Convert to Table...

Does that help (or make any sense)?

Unless I misunderstood, it's not more work -- in fact, it's the exact
same process. You wanted to straddle the 2nd and 3rd cells and end up
with a run-in CautionHead followed by CautionText. If you redefine
CautionText with the Caution autonumber, the same straddle step does
just what you need because straddling the cells removes the
no-longer-needed empty CautionHead pgf.

Unexpected problem with straddling table cells

2006-11-17 Thread pxen...@comcast.net
A client's template currently has Cautions formatted as a three-cell table: The

My first thought is convert table to text and back again. This simple
trick can save a lot of bother. From what you say, you have
Cell 1: Icon Cell 2: paratag Cell 3: text

Conversion gives you
Icon Tab paratag Tab text
(You can specify that cell divisions are tabs, semi-colons, whatever.)

Then you just remove the second Tab so you have
Icon Tab paratag text

Convert that back to a table, and you should have
Cell 1: Icon Cell 2 paratag text

Marking a table gives you the choice of Table > Convert to Paragraphs...
Marking text block gives you Table > Convert to Table...

Does that help (or make any sense)?

You're right, when you straddle two cells, if one contains an empty pgf,

Hi Richard -

The route you suggest is probably what we'll end up going with but we
wanted to explore this other alternative because it's less work when
upgrading existing docs to the new templates.

Thanks -

Pat

Unexpected problem with straddling table cells

Unless I misunderstood, it's not more work -- in fact, it's the exact
same process. You wanted to straddle the 2nd and 3rd cells and end up
with a run-in CautionHead followed by CautionText. If you redefine
CautionText with the "Caution" autonumber, the same straddle step does
just what you need because straddling the cells removes the
no-longer-needed empty CautionHead pgf.

third party vendors

2006-11-17 Thread Karsten Natebus
Hello Michael,

you can do this with a recursive function or sub.

Set StartDir = 'c:\programme\';
Run RecDir pv_strDir(StartDir);

Sub RecDir Using pv_strDir
Local lv_strStartDir;
Local lv_objFileInfo;
Local lv_blnRetStat;
Local lv_strPathName;
Local lv_intRetPos;
Local lv_strExtension;
Local lv_lv_strRetStr;

Set lv_strStartDir = pv_strDir;
New EFileInfo NewVar(vFileInfo) Filename(lv_strStartDir + '\*.*');
Set lv_objFileInfo = vFileInfo;
Loop While(lv_objFileInfo.FilePresent)
If lv_objFileInfo.IsDirectory = false

// code for found files

Else
Find String('\.')
InString (lv_objFileInfo.FilePath)
ReturnPos(lv_intRetPos)
ReturnStatus(lv_blnRetStat)
ReturnString(lv_strRetStr);
If lv_blnRetStat = false
Find String('\..')
InString (lv_objFileInfo.FilePath)
ReturnPos(lv_intRetPos)
ReturnStatus(lv_blnRetStat)
ReturnString(lv_strRetStr);
if lv_blnRetStat = false
// code for found folders

//start search in folder (recursive)
Run RecDir
pv_strDir(lv_objFileInfo.FilePath);
EndIf
EndIf
EndIf
Run lv_objFileInfo.GetNext;
EndLoop
DELETE Object(lv_objFileInfo);
EndSub

All,

In the process of putting together a tools and pricing plan for the VP of
Product Engineering. I am trying to find third party vendors that are
resellers of Adobe Framemaker and Adobe's own list for this information is
woefully out-of-date. Specifically, I am hoping to find vendors that still
offer the TPL version of licensing ("x" number of licenses for this reduced
rate plus a guarantee of point releases and one major upgrade), but any and
all suggestions are appreciated. I am in the Denver metro area.

TIA,

TVB

Quick Context-sensitive question

2006-11-17 Thread Ron Miller
Frame 7.1
WebWorks Publisher 2003

I'm placing topic aliases in my documents so my client can generate
context-sensitive help.

There are several topics, which need to point to the same help topic. In
a case like this, do I just create the single topic alias, then have the
programmers set it up to point to the same topic, or do I have to set up
three separate topic aliases?

Thanks,
Ron
