Hi Scott I've just tested your batch file and it also works for me. After I press any key to continue, I get a message saying The system cannot accept the date entered, but I just have to press enter again to get FrameMaker 10 up and running. Dear Anjaneai, Is there a solution yet? As Shlomo, I tried your suggested solution 1 and 2 without success. Again, just like Shlomo, I don't want to try solution 3. Just as a note: simply setting the date back to 2012 makes the license issue disappear. But this is something I can do as I have admin rights on my PC. Resetting the date is not a viable solution due to versioning issues. As others have suggested, a free upgrade to FM11 would seem to be an appropriate response from Adobe. In the short term this is costing me serious money! As a freelance author, I had hoped to do a solid day's work yesterday, free from the usual interruptions as everyone else was on holiday. Instead, I spent a frustrating day trying various suggested solutions that all failed to work. I finally downloaded a trial version of FM11 over my none-too-fast internet link. I AM NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER ! Anjaneai, I appreciate the attempts at help but resetting the clock on your computer, particularly if you are tied into a critical network, is one the absolutely stupidest things to do. However, when you have bought something you tend to think that you own it, so an expiry date on a fully paid software product should not be there at all. This is the kind of thing that really hurts Adobes image in the minds of users who purchase licenses with the simple idea that they will be able to use the software when they need it.I have earlier complained about the fact that installing CS6 caused the disabling of my TCS3 Acrobat X thirty days after installing CS6. Somebody at Adobe needs to get the installation team for the CS suites to respect other installations, especially if those licenses are for other Adobe products. Fix for FrameMaker launch failure
I clicked on FrameMaker to open it and got an error message stating, License expired. I immediately googled that error since I know my license is permanent. Adobe has already posted the fix for it. Configuration control for imported Graphics
Can anyone offer suggestions for tight configuration control over graphics that are imported into framemaker documents? We're actually embedding images into the documents because we are unable to link by reference due to Sharepoint limitations. Right now we're manually checking for current graphics using file dates, but it's a burdensome extra step that sometimes gets overlooked when publishing books on a tight deadline, which sometimes results in older graphics in the compiled books. The graphics are all stored in individual folders on the server for graphics control issues, rather than in one folder for all graphics. Any ideas or suggestions? I get this same error with both "fixes":My version is showing as 10.0.2…I ran the earlier fix and that did work. These new files do not. In response to an offlist question: I have no idea what version of FM that I had on my desktop and laptop before I ran the first fix provided this morning. After running this first fix, the version for both installations is now set to 10.0.2. For my client's virtual PC, I ran the first fix simply so I could open FM and determine the version. After the first fix, it was 10.0.1 so I ran the version of the second fix (the one for FM 1.0.1) for this virtual PC. During the running of the second fix, flyover text opens that states something about installing 10.0.3 of FM (note the .3); however, after running this second fix, the version of FM on the laptop now is set to 10.0.2 - So, it's not .3 and somehow, the first fix got me to .2 even though it took two fixes to get my client's PC to that. I give and I don't want to take the chance of screwing something up by running a not needed second fix - as per Brad Anderson's email just a few moments ago. It's like Russian roulette with FM fixes right about now. As far as I am aware, printing from Frame directly to a printer will never produce good copy as Frame is not intended to be used that way (I think of it as almost WYSIWYG or blurry WYSIWYG). Unless you have a printer with a true Adobe PostScript interpreter, and the appropriate driver for that interpreter is installed and selected, FrameMaker's printing output is unreliable. You can apply this patch ,it is a superset . It is available at http://helpx.adobe.com/framemaker/kb/cant-launch-framemaker-10.html . 1. Go to Add and Remove Programs. 2. Look for Name and Version fields for FrameMaker 10 entry. 3. If the name says Adobe FrameMaker 10 and Version says 10.0.0.388 or 10.0.1.402 or 10.0.2.419pls. download TCS3Update.zip file, unzip it and run the executable. 4. Otherwise, if the name says Adobe FrameMaker 10.0.1 and version says 10.0.1.408 or 10.0.2.419 download TCS3_5Update.zip, unzip it and run the executable. Framemaker License expired as part of TCS 3
I am using FrameMaker 10 as part of TCS 3. This morning when I tried to open FM, I got the message "Licensing for this product has expired". Everything else in the suite opens ok. I didn't think the license for FM would expire once you have bought it? Has anyone else had this issue? Katherine

Hi Scott I've just tested your batch file and it also works for me. After I "press any key to continue", I get a message saying "The system cannot accept the date entered", but I just have to press enter again to get FrameMaker 10 up and running. This is the kind of thing that really hurts Adobes image in the minds of users who purchase licenses with the simple idea that they will be able to use the software when they need it.I have earlier complained about the fact that installing CS6 caused the disabling of my TCS3 Acrobat X thirty days after installing CS6. Somebody at Adobe needs to get the installation team for the CS suites to respect other installations, especially if those licenses are for other Adobe products. Hello Framers, A quick update on my last post. For those of you, who can't or don't want to change their system date, there is a new workaround that I have included in my earlier post. We have uploaded a utility which will do the suitable modification to a configuration file, to make FM10 launch successfully. Adobe FrameMaker 10 does not start - Workaround
Hey, guys! For those of you without admin rights (like me), we found a temporary work around here. Double click the time and date that is normally in the bottom right of your screen. Change the date to anytime in 2012. Open Frame. From here you can either correct the date to today's correct date or leave as is. Changing it to correct means you will have to repeat the process to reopen Frame. Works for now (and while I wait for our Tech team to actually make any fix even though I sent them the info). I clicked on FrameMaker to open it and got an error message stating, "License expired." I immediately googled that error since I know my license is permanent. Adobe has already posted the fix for it. Configuration control for imported Graphics
Can anyone offer suggestions for tight configuration control over graphics that are imported into framemaker documents? We're actually embedding images into the documents because we are unable to link by reference due to Sharepoint limitations. Right now we're manually checking for current graphics using file dates, but it's a burdensome extra step that sometimes gets overlooked when publishing books on a tight deadline, which sometimes results in older graphics in the compiled books. The graphics are all stored in individual folders on the server for graphics control issues, rather than in one folder for all graphics. Any ideas or suggestions? FrameMaker 10 does not start ("licensing expired")
In response to an offlist question: I have no idea what version of FM that I had on my desktop and laptop before I ran the first fix provided this morning. After running this first fix, the version for both installations is now set to 10.0.2. For my client's virtual PC, I ran the first fix simply so I could open FM and determine the version. After the first fix, it was 10.0.1 so I ran the version of the second fix (the one for FM 1.0.1) for this virtual PC. During the running of the second fix, flyover text opens that states something about installing 10.0.3 of FM (note the .3); however, after running this second fix, the version of FM on the laptop now is set to 10.0.2 - So, it's not .3 and somehow, the first fix got me to .2 even though it took two fixes to get my client's PC to that. I give and I don't want to take the chance of screwing something up by running a not needed second fix - as per Brad Anderson's email just a few moments ago. It's like Russian roulette with FM fixes right about now. Embedding images is asking for trouble. Why not dump Sharepoint in favor of a real version control system? Imported PDF looks poor
As far as I am aware, printing from Frame directly to a printer will never produce good copy as Frame is not intended to be used that way (I think of it as "almost WYSIWYG" or "blurry WYSIWYG"). Once you create the PDF from the Frame doc, simply print the PDF to obtain hard copies. It all works just fine ... except for this: When I print this form from some PDF reader-any PDF reader that I've tried-it looks great. When I use FrameMaker to print the same form, not so great. Both on screen and on paper, the text is all darkened, the edges of the letters no longer smooth and crisp. It's not unusable, but it certainly does not appear as it should. If anyone has an idea as to what may be happening here, I'd appreciate your help. I have to prepare a number of these forms in various special ways. Unless you have a printer with a true Adobe PostScript interpreter, and the appropriate driver for that interpreter is installed and selected, FrameMaker's printing output is unreliable. Like Alison, I always save to PDF and then print that to whatever.
