Delete the preferences file for USB Overdrive and reset the preferences. I will try this, thanks. However, if there was something amiss there, I'd expect the mouse to misbehave all the time, instead of just very, very rarely. It looks like some bizarre interaction with FrameMaker. But as I'm using a very, very old version, I doubt if I'm going to fox out what's going on unless I get an 'Aha!' moment. One fact, though: the problem is application-specific, to FrameMaker. -- Steve ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. It's the 'only very rarely' incidence that's stumped me. Or, it could be similar to a problem I sometimes have on my Mac: I've got an ancient Apple Extended Keyboard attached via an ADB-to-USB converter. I used to use this setup, but at present I've just using the standard current-model wired keyboard. Occasionally, it will munge some keystrokes. my Mac will come out as my;ac (even though I'm hitting the correct keys). My cats do that for me ;-) Two keystrokes are seen as one if they're typed too quickly. You could try a different keyboard. Well I could, but like all transient (and this is very transient) faults, they're a bummer to pin down. What I do know is that it only occurs in FrameMaker. I am not particularly familiar with the Mac, so these would be real SWAGs: 1. Is it a wireless mouse? And, if so, have you tried changing its batteries? FrameMaker 7, Mac, mouse under control of USB Overdrive. I have long - years - had FrameMaker set up such that the mouse wheel scrolls forward/back a page at a time, without problems. The control codes for this in FrameMaker 7 for Mac are command-[ and command-]. The benefit of using these control codes rather than 'page up' and 'page down' is that they also work in dialogs, such as the Paragraph Designer. The problem I'm seeing may be a USB OVerdrive issue and therefore outside the remit of this group, but what's happening is that, only *very* occasionally, for a scroll page down, I get the current contents of the paste buffer followed by the ']' inserted into the text. Which is of course highly undesirable, especially if you don't notice it. This only happens very occasionally, so I can't pin down the exact circumstances. -- Steve ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com.
