[Audyssey] notetaker games
Since I am in massotherapy training, the voc rehab is buying me a Braille lite m20. The first thing I thought about was the practicality of having such an awesome device, but, naturally, it didn't take me more than a minute to start wondering if there were games for it. Jason Santa Anna's site is shut down, so I'm wondering what kind of games are out there for the Braille lite and where to get them. Also a few other interesting games. [Audyssey] GTC question
Hi all The recent talk of Tank Commander made me want to go back and play it again. I'm having a slight problem however in sector 3. I've cleared out the enemies and finished the mission as such, but can't figure out where the ford is to cross the river. I'm presently about 100 metres from it and it's not showing up anywhere. Hi, Allan. Actually, putting Linux on the PS 3 has some really good possabilities of designing accessible games for it. Linux does use some open source tool kits such as SDL, OpenGL, OpenAL, etc. I don't know if Sony plans to use the open source tool kits or use their own, but I can certainly see some potential for accessible game development for the platform here. Two apis that really go far in Linux is OpenGL and OpenAL. OpenGL has been said to render 3D graphics better than DirectX Direct3D. The OpenAL api is suppose to be able to do everything DirectX DirectSound does so 3D effects should be easy enough to design. This actually offers some awsome possabilities for Linux gamers. A version can be designed to run on Linux PC's, and can also be ported to run with the PS 3 version of Linux. Hi. Well, RR is suppose to be getting a gravity gun so after you played x number of races you will be able to fire it at the AI driven racer which will slow him down. He will also be able to buy one which will slow your proformence for a while. It's not a feature I am exactly thrilled about, but many of the other features of the game are pretty cool. Hi, Richard. One thing I can tell you from testing the Alpha's learning to take the curves in this game are tricky. You have to lean over to about 45 degrees, and slowly straiten up as you take the curve. Leaning two far will result in hozing your paint job against the rail wall and decrease your speed. Leaning not far enough will allow you to loose speed as well. It is something that takes real practice. Then, there is the issue of shifting gears. You have a manual shift so you have to know when and where to shift, and that takes some practice. One small correction to Thomas' comments here: The angle you have to lean depends on the angle of the curve, not necessarily 45 degrees. Some curves require a very small and quick lean, which presents it's own challenges versus the longer curves in which you have to have a steady and smooth hand to maintain your lean over the longer haul. One thing about the gravity gun I should have made more clear, is that you won't be able to purchase the gun until you have saved a considerable amount of money, and only certain tracks will allow you the use of the gravity gun. I can tell you from testing it, you will be busier than a one legged man in a punt contest with the weapons system. Hi Will, You can replace the menu music with anything you like, as long as it is an mp3 file. You can play and control win amp from the game as you play. You will need to load your own playlist before the game starts, and then you can control it with the function keys from the game. I really dig playing win amp while I play, and I hope to see this easily implemented feature in other accessible games. Hi, Will. I can't answer your first two questions, but I can answer the last two. As for a mailing list there is a rail racer mailing list. Right now it is for private testers only, but I imagine once this thing goes public the list will be opened up to the public. As for a USB mouse most laptops have USB 2.0 ports.
