I am familiar with gold wave. However, how does that help you record the
game? That is, how do ensure that you are able to record the sounds of the
game, sounds of your screen reader and you talking?

I have very recently begun my second round of experimentation at recording
walk-throughs of games, and, after messing with it for a bit, like to use
Gold Wave, which you can get from

www.goldwave.com

The demo will last long enough for you to determine whether you like it or

Hi,
Grin. Actually, i don't think it would be possible to play the game for
three hours straight under the circomstances of that particular bug. It
was eating ram and bogging the processor down so fast that after 15 to
20 minutes of that abuse any system would go down for the count. I am,
obviously, elated to know what the problem is and that there is a ffix
for it.

Re: [Audyssey] Exciting MOTA News

2009-05-23 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Pranav,
That's a good question. Initially I also assumed the garbage collecter
was doing its job, but the longer I played the game it kept using more
and more system resources. Since I've never seen anything remotely like
this before I was just as perplexed as you and wondering why the garbage
collecter wasn't doing its job. Well, to make a long story short I
wasn't properly closing the sound Clips and disposing of the Clip
objects. So the garbage collecter never cleaned up after the game
because it didn't see the Clip objects as disposed. So the game
continued to put sound clip after sound clip on the heap until the game
crashed. I've since fixed that bug, and now call the garbage collecter
on demand to make sure all sounds are properly disposed of and cleaned
up as soon as possible. Things run a lot smoother and better now.

Cheers.

Hi,

This is how I do it on this hp.

I'm asuming you've already went into properties by hitting alt p, went into
playback and made sure microphone was available and stario mix (or in your
case what you hear) is also available.

1. Open sounds and audio devices in the control pannel.
2. COntrol tab twice to the audio tab.
3. Tab once to playback volume, hit space.
4. Shift tab until you hear microphone volume, crank it up to 100, this is
how people are going to hear you while you demmo said game.

5. Tab, there should be a mute checkbox. Hit space on it to uncheck it.
6. You should hear yourself talking into the microphone if this is
successful.

7. Tab to the ok button and hit enter.
8. Tab to the recording volume button and hit space bar.
9. You'll see microphone volume, then a select checkbox which will be
checked.
10. Tab to the what you hear (or in some cases stario mix, wave out, etc)
and crank volume up to 100. Tab to the select checkbox, hit space on this.
Tab to the ok button and hit enter.
11. Your ready to rock. Test this out in sound recorder by going to
accessories, then entertainment. Once in the program, hit control r to
record, do some stuff, talk a bit, then go back and hit control s, then
control p to play it back.
12. That's it, hopefully it works. If not, contact my privately, I'll do my
best to help.

How do people record game demos? I have a creative sound card and would

I am told that I need a sound mixer. Is this correct? I did try playing

Hi,
OK, try going to www.microsoft.com/directx and installing the latest update
to DirectX. The SlimDX library is already included in the TDV setup, so if
your DirectX is current you shouldn't have to install SlimDX separately. Let
me know how it goes.
