You can also build different buildings to deal with lumber like a lumber yard that can deal with what the harvest tool can deal with plus a mining plant for getting metals out so you always have a good stock at your buildings. You can check it from time to time to get an idea of how you're doing. My most recent accomplishment has been crafting a rifle and ammunition for it. The bulk of the rifle came from a kit, but still. It strikes me as very odd that you could've completely! broken vip mud, sinse all you would need to do to restore defaults is delete the star conquest folder, and maybe the start.set file as well if you did anything to the default settings that can't be restored from options. the files for the sounds you can just leave be as you wish or delete from the sounds folder, but they shouldn't make any difference if you actually delete the folders that vipmud creates for each mud with the various set files in. If all this fails, have you considdered just reinstalling vip mud? though the license is indeed computer specific, the key will still work on a reinstall if you haven't changed your hardware, though as I said I'd be quite surprised if you can't just delete the appropriate files to get back to the defaults, (I had to do this with materiamagica on one occasion myself when I managed to bugger up some settings). Part of that is because it reminds me of games like Aces of the Deep and 688 which I played until I could no longer see them, and the other reason is once you get good at it the game is hardly boring. There is over a hundred custom missions to play now, and its fairly easy to create your own. As for mission 5, if that is the one about the hospital ships, it is very easy tactically speaking. To answer everyone's questions, this is indeed an audio stratogy game based on a genre of mainstream stratogy games popular on pc's and Iphones and such (look up tower defense games on wikipedia for details). Basically, you have a 10 x10 audio grid ala time of conflict or similar. There are land tiles (two types), which you can build on, and water tyles which you can't. A path runs across the map (use shift E or e for description). When ready ie, when you press spacebar and enter, a bunch of monsters will start walking across the path. For every monster that makes it to the end, you lose a life. To fight the monsters, you can buy towers and place them on squares (press ctrl on a square then use the tab key), which do various types of damage in a circular area around the tower. The towers can then be upgraded to do more damage, have a wider range, or fire more times per minute. The catch is,you only have a limited amount of money, so need to spend wisely, for instance putting towers where they can reach multiple areas of the path (B7 to E7 are great places on the first map for instance). When you've placed your towers, hit spacebar to start the monster attack, (you'll be told what sort of monsters are in the next level and their stats, then be asked to press enter to confirm). What your towers fire (you can hit B on each tower to see what it's doing, but also moving around the grid will give you audio feedback), then if you make it through, start using the gold you got from that bunch of monsters to upgrade your towers or build more in preparation for the next wave. As I said, check the posts, sinse lots of stuff gets added literally every day (I've never seen a game be developed this fast), for instance most recently for instance the appocalypse mode, which substitutes the normal 20 levels of monsters for wave after wave of zombies increasing in difficulty. I hope this gives people a better idea of the game. I'd deffinately recommend it, it's really quite addictive, and surprisingly fun, not to mention more complex than it looks at first. I guess the gypsy and the imps I just have to wander around until they appear again (randomly appearing npcs are such a pest), but that maze is an absolute terror! I got through it before, but only after a good few hours of trying, so any tips would be appreciated, also letting me know if I've missed anything, other than atraxus sinse I'm waiting until I level up to take him on. [Audyssey] Fate of the republic
Hi all. Have started playing this mud recently and am impressed with the amount of activities and skills and such with it. You have the different factions such as Rebel and Imperial. The staff and other players are helpful to people with a visual impairment. You start with 50 citizen levels. You then have to write a description of 500 characters and a bio of the same length before you choose your profession. Each profession has its own speciality after you achieve the profession levels. If your lucky its possible you may have access to the force. I've been asked to give it a mention to try and get more players. Hi all. I'm trying to play a mud called Imperian using both mush client and Mud bot for maps within the game. The problem I'm getting is that under global preferences the timer under global settings only allows me to be connected for up to 2 minutes. [Audyssey] thoughts on games
Hi all. After reading some of the posts I totally agree that all visually impaired people whether totally blind etc should pay for games. I myself can't work due to illness but I'd never go the route of not paying for a game because I couldn't afford it. Bad enough it's simple wait until you have got enough funds to afford it and then get it. Unfortunately there are those out there who due to their sight loss think they can have everything for free that's not the case. Take rnib for example the last time I checked a4 braille paper was about £7.99 per packet. Sorry for going a little ot. I prefer to pay for a game because of the time and effort gone into making something we visually impaired can enjoy. Keep up the good work game developers. Hi Kelly. As Liam said being either at recall in the newbie part of the game or a way point this is another location in the game where you can type pray here andn then recall to that location by typing way and the number. I play alter aeon and get plenty of enjoyment out of it. You can level in what ever class you like but you don't have to stick to leveling the same class throughout the game. One of my characters wex she is a level 19 mage level 23 cleric level 12 warrior and level 8 thief. Hope you start the game. Hi all. I've a question for you. When you design a course using the course maker is a hole rated with a 10 more difficult than a hole rated with 90. You have the rating system of between 10 and 90. Hi phil. Began a new game of sarah tonight. Got as far as the kitchen in the basement then got totally stuck. No matter which direction key I pressed you could hear the sound change direction but sarah didn't walk in that direction. Is this a bug and is there a fix for this. Hi all. Having read the posts on this subject i've recently discovered not only shades of doom hunter tru pannum have cracks but also pipe 2, all of the pinball games from draconis, pacman talks from phils site as well as pinball game ten pin alley. Hi ian. I tend to use the left arrow get close to the left side of the game where the left cliffs are and hit r to turn on my chest detector. If the arrows are flying i tend to keep the left control depressed so that the guy is always ducking while moving around and picking up chests. Its very good once you get the hang of it. Hi all. I am currently using the gmud client which i like. Is there anyway of getting sound packs for muds. The one i am interested in is alteraeon. Would be greatful for some advice. Found another bug. There are treasures at the edges of the grid. At one stage the treasure was at the end of the right side, one step away from the rocks. I was able to get this one. however today I found treasure that was on the rocks. I hit the rocks before I could take the treasure. I stopped at the point I hit the rocks and at the same time I detected treasure. Another thing is that once I have all treasures I should go up a level, not go looking around the level for a random thing that will put me up a level. Can't I just automatically go up? Also any way to get the status of how much food/treasures you have and how many on the level and how many you need to get? Another thing you could do would be at least on easy, that is to have an arcade mode in the game, or rather remove the rocks, ok that defeats the purpose but for those on easy its real hard. The only sound you can here to distinguish the rocks is the sea, and there is loads of that around you with all the fishes. For a 1.0 release its real good. I think you should not lose a life if you get your hook stuck though as you can fix it. I also think arrows should make a noise that doesn't sound simular to a bird. Its hard.
