Thanks Dark, Phil, and Jon! This is really appreciated! So Phil, all I have right now is Win 10 so does that mean Sarah won't work? Re: [Audyssey] I am remembering Thomas ward
Hi Danielle. As regards Tom's games, it's rather sad to say that he did have problems getting projects finished in his life. The sarah game is actually by Phil Vlasac of pcs. The main games tom created were startrek final conflict, the sadly unreleased Montizumas revenge (due to all the shenanigans with the cease and decist order), and the game it became, mysteries of the ancients only one level of which was finished (the game featuring Angela Carter. all of tom's work that could be preserved is available on the audiogames archive here: http://www.agarchive.net/pages/devs/usa.html Hth. Re: [Audyssey] I am remembering Thomas ward
Hi Richard, There wasn't much in the way of details. All we really knew (from Tom himself) was that he was having some severe medical problems. The next thing we heard from was his (many said inaccurate and impersonal) obituary. It really was a tragedy. I didn't know Thomas very well myself, but those on the list who did may be able to tell you a little more. -- From: "Richard Sherman" <squir...@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 07, 2017 16:45 To: "Gamers Discussion list" <gamers@audyssey.org> Subject: Re: [Audyssey] I am remembering Thomas ward Hi, just checked. The domain was for renewel for quite a while. Then it wasn't at all. Even a couple months before it went, I powered the site just to see what happened. According to the site last september the paypal was still active and you could still buy usagames stuff. You could download things and view old news. I am unsure who has copywrite access or whatever but obviously no one related to tom cares enough to keep his company active. There were never any updates on his site. The last message we got from him was a year or so before he went and the sit wasn't updated even then. Saying that, he was on the audiogames forum, its unlikely much is left, but if he had a twitter, chances are thats still up, those never close down, ever. Your digital ghost will continue to be online never changing till the internet's own vulchers make a meal of it and turn it into another bot farm. Re: [Audyssey] I am remembering Thomas ward
I agree. The only thing of tom's I ever had was the final conflict 1 game. I do wander at a later date if we ever get a chance if we could see what they were working on before they went off to the core. I do wander if there were stuff not finished or close to. I know tom was close to getting final conflict 2 out. And his engine. I know jim was getting close to a few other things. On a more personal note I do wander what happened in the end to mota, or rather those that ordered the transfered alchemy titles, it probably goes without saying they will never get their games or money back now. I know that it is probably not worth it but for those that have lost, it still remains unresolved. Almost straight he went, people were asking. They were told to stop whining and to go f**ck themselves but the question still remains unresolved and probably will be for ever more. Re: [Audyssey] I am remembering Thomas ward
Hi Steven. I admit I've been missing Tom quite a lot myself. I first met him in 2005 when I subscribed to this list, indeed I think he was one of the first people to welcome me, if not literally the first. We had a lot of conversations on this list, on the usa games list, and the audiogames.net forum, and we exchanged private emails as well. Tom is definitely someone I counted as a friend, and what is really sad is that there have been so many changes in my life this year that I would've loved to discuss with him, such as my marriage. Heck even now my lady will run into an author like Elizabeth Moon or one of Dean Koontz books and I'll say "that was one of Tom's favourites, he recommended it" It's odd, I still sometimes open my email and expect something from Tom, or indeed start a month and expect one of Jim Kitchin's reports and then a good natured rangle over whether Tom or I got the top spot for most messages sent that month :D. Just like Jim, Tom is definitely missed. All the best, Dark. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Hi, I've been thinking about Thomas too, for some reason his facebook page is still there and his birthday came up on my page and made me feel really upset and sad. I wished him happy birthday in my head and told him we on the list miss him. He was such a nice guy. From Lori. On 07/02/2017 07:55, Stephen wrote: Hello.
