Re: [Audyssey] Street fighter.
I used to play this a lot, and I just relied on the various sounds used within the game. For example a block and an actual punch/kick are two different sounds. [Audyssey] street fighter and space colony cleaner
Hi all, Where are you getting this super street fighter game? I have the game, for the xbox 360, not windows. I at least want a download of the full game or a demo. Also I really want space colony cleaner. I keep emailing you about it and I don't get a link. I want scc and the maze game from tdlgames and also chicken ciller. I ask that you please give me the games, because it is my plan that when I get my game company up and running I am going to be hosting all abandoned audio games. I think you would like that, right? So please give me maze game, space colony cleaner and chicken killer. Also I want to get in touch with Jason about self destruct. I heard someone on the list say he wants us to beet self destruct because of that song at the end, and I can't do that in the demo. How can I get in touch with him? I don't have an msn account and I'm not allowed to skipe people I don't know so how else can I get a hold of him? I personally wanted to beat self destruct before I heard someone say he wants me to beat it. I'm having trouble registering the game and even with generating my product id so I want help and unfortunately Damien can't help me because he lost the source code. Whoever has a registered copy I ask that you please tell me how you got that to work. best regards, Jack --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. [Audyssey] Street fighter iv on I-phone/I-pod touch?
Hello all I received an I-pod touch 32gb for the holidays and am looking for a few games to try out. I purchased aurifi and papa sangre and saw street fighter iv for $6 on sale. I'm not interested in purchasing a next generation console and the pc port runs slow on my laptop because of it's intigrated graphics card, so until I get a new desktop built or wait for the nintendo 3ds system and the port of SSF iv comes out, was wondering if this port might be a possibility. I'm assuming not because of voice over incompatibility and looks like the only way controls may work out is if there was bluetooth keyboard support. Perhaps I could get some help cutting out the areas of the controls from a screen protector but that may be more trouble than it's worth. It sounds like a decent little port, around 14 characters or so and pretty impressive music/sound/voice from listening to the videos. Any thoughts or suggestions? Re: [Audyssey] Street fighter iv on I-phone/I-pod touch?
Don't think you'll have a lot of luck there. The controls are on the touch screen.. so unless you work out where the joystick and buttons are and how to do move motions that way, you're going to be stuck. lol. so the conference wil take place on Tuesday, August 17th, at 4 pm eastern. So one pacific, two mountain and three PM central. The program will be team talk... I don't have the website so google teamtalk and you should find it. Server ad channel infrmation will be given closer t the actual conference. I think we'll probably just use the default teamtalk server with a password-protected channel. Does the time and arrangement work for everybody? Rare? no way! WHat's rare is a sega cd - but that still only sets you back around 55 dollars. What the kicker is is the 3do, which can range from 40 dollars (not trusted, it probably doesn't work) to 70 dollars - new ones can be in the 300 dollar range. THe imports from Japan especially, which weren't released in america, go high - like the sanyo. I might just scrap the 3do all together - actually, I found a dreamcast on ebay for 18 dollars. It'd probably work - they don't go much cheaper than that, though... contact details: email: tcwoo...@shaw.ca and others msn: the_conman...@hotmail.com skype: the_conman283 system details: Hp pavillion dv5220CA notebook pc AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-37 2.0 GHZ, 1024 mb DDR ram, Fujitsu 100 gb 4500 RPM Hard Drive, connecsant AC-link audio - Original Message - From: Clement Chou chou.clem...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Saturday, February 21, 2009 2:31 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Street Fighter IV VS. Nah, you can get game roms for the dreamcast and 3do. But the dreamcast requires a very high end processor - as does the ps2. I tried running a ps2 emulator on this hp. It loaded the bios (which was horribly choppy and broken up and stuff), I can't even imagine playing the game itself. contact details: email: tcwoo...@shaw.ca and others msn: the_conman...@hotmail.com skype: the_conman283 system details: Hp pavillion dv5220CA notebook pc AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-37 2.0 GHZ, 1024 mb DDR ram, Fujitsu 100 gb 4500 RPM Hard Drive, connecsant AC-link audio - Original Message - From: Clement Chou chou.clem...@gmail.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, February 20, 2009 9:19 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Street Fighter IV VS. Yeah sure each character has their own set of combos, but when it comes down to it, special moves are really the only thing that separates one character from another. In MK, you can play every character the same way and most likely do okay. But... take a street fighter sinario. If you were to pick Xangief and pit him up against a character like Akuma, you'll have a good challenge to work through. Problem? Xangief has no long-rage projectiles, since he's a wrestler. The result? You have to play defensively unless you can get past Akima's guard. But once you're through, you can dominate with Xangief close up and damaging moves like the spinning piledriver... or my personal favorite, the german supl ex. But my point being that SF has a lot more complexity to it. Mk is a good game, but you know what? SFIV definitely outdoes mk versus DC. Unless it's just me... since this is only my pinion. But take IGN's reviews for both games, as an example. MK got a 7.5. SFIV got a 9.3... even though it isn't out yet. That's the first time I've seen IGN or any gaming site do a review with an early build... or rather, early release. And... one more thing, audio wise. Voices at least, I've always liked SF... because if characters shout phrases, they actually mean something... meaning you can take the Japanese words and translate them. But in MK.. the only words that come out are random syllables strung together. In conclusion, as an mk fan and Street Fighter fan, my opinion given is... SFIV is better I'm trying to be as unbias as I can, and tried to be as fair as I could. Hope this helps anyone caught up in this dilemma. All opinions are appreciated. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. MK versus DC universe I know a lot of people have MK already, and are probably going to get SFIV as well. But for all those seriously debating between the two... here's my two-sense. I've played both games... up to the most modern ones. After having a bit of a threat on gamefaqs all about it, I figured I'd give my opinions to the vi community as well. I've borrowed a copy of MK versus DCU from a friend of mine, and have been playing it for a while now. As an honest MK and street fighter fan, I confess myself to being more on the street fighter side of things. One quote I know from the thread I mentioned is, MK has always been more about style than substance. To a certain extent, that is true. MK looks flashy and cool, for a while, but eventually the slow gameplay mechanics start to get to you. Don't get my wrong, I like MK. Like it a lot. But in terms of content.. especially in MK VS DCU, it falls way short and Midway tried to do a lot of things to the gameplay. Some worked, some did not. Either way, MK wasn't the game it was hyped up to be... and the m rating got dropped to a t, which also frustrated a lot of MK fans, me among them. SFIV, on the other hand, looks good, plays smoothly, and has unlockable content. A lot of it. Different quotes for acaracters, more characters to unlock. But the best of all... it has a much deeper engine. You can do a lot of things in SF that in MK history... hasn't happened very often. The big thing that always tiled me towards the Street Fighter series slightly more was the character diversity. Each character has their own style, fighting style that is, and their own different style of play that's flexib le to newcomers and vetarines alike. Combos are a nice challenge to pull off, and there's stuff in the engine that you don't really think about until you actually experience them. As an example... canceling a special move into supers or ultras. MK, on the other hand... there really isn't too much depth to the engine. Hi Clement Sounds good! I'll look forward to it. The next issue will be April so there's no pressure that way. Re: [Audyssey] Street Fighter IV VS. MK versus DC universe
Is this game for the xbox 360 or what game system? -Original Message- From: gamers-boun...@audyssey.org [mailto:gamers-boun...@audyssey.org] On Behalf Of Clement Chou Sent: Friday, February 13, 2009 3:17 PM To: brandonsl...@freelists.org; Gamers Discussion list Subject: [Audyssey] Street Fighter IV VS. Each character has their own style, fighting style that is, and their own different style of play that's flexible to newcomers and vetarines alike. Combos are a nice challenge to pull off, and there's stuff in the engine that you don't really think about until you actually experience them. As an example... canceling a special move into supers or ultras. MK, on the other hand... there really isn't too much depth to the engine. But once you're through, you can dominate with Xangief close up and damaging moves like the spinning piledriver... or my personal favorite, the german suplex. Voices at least, I've always liked SF... be! cause if characters shout phrases, they actually mean something... meaning you can take the Japanese words and translate them. But in MK.. the only words that come out are random syllables strung together. In conclusion, as an mk fan and Street Fighter fan, my opinion given is... Josh, not sure about Mame, but for project 64 I can play it on a desktop with 512 mb ram and a 1.1 ghz processor just fine. It also depends what game it is. If Its newer, it won't play very well, but if its older, it will play fine. An example would be cruisn' USA for the nintendo 64. It plays good on the desktop. It was released in 1996 as one of the launch titles, so a first generation game. Now lets fast forward to 2000 and Midways 'san fransisco rush 2049'. Its a third or fourth generation game. It sounds staticky and such, of course that could be the rom. Who knows. and Control are sluggish. On this here laptop with 1 gb of ram, its a bit better- just a bit- but it works, for the most part, and things are understandable. But playing an accessible game on an emulator is next to impossible, such as mortal kombat, since the c buttons are aranged so poorly in project 64, anyway, and controls are sluggish no matter how much ram you have. It will never be the real thing, imho. Have a good day from Tyler C. Re: [Audyssey] street fighter IV was Re: final fight arcade emulation
Hi Tyler, Well, assuming street Fighter IV follows the general arcade machine design it would look something like this. Generally speaking, arcade machines are rectangular shaped wooden cases with video game characters painted on the case and the name of the game painted on in some stylish way to get your attention. They stand upright, and are about four or five feet tall. At the top of the machine there is a video game screen that is built back into the machine case so that the light from the arcade won't effect your view of the game screen. That is to say it is indented into the case about a foot or so that the top, left, and right sides of the case make it dark inside the machine. they only thing you can see is the screen filling up your entire view. Really cool. On the front of the machine there is usually game controllers such as joysticks, foot peddles, racing wheels, buttons, and a coin slot where you drop your money in to play. Re: [Audyssey] street fighter IV was Re: final fight arcadeemulation
hi Liam, yeah, I know. it is shocking to realize that arcade machines is almost a thing of the past. I do see them around from time to time, but not like they were in the 80's. Back in the 1980's in Wooster Ohio, where I grew up, we had two video arcades packed wall to wall with arcade machines. I played most of the classics there first. Double Dragon, Asteroids, Zaxxon, Packman, Megaman, you name it. If it was in those arcades I played them and talked my parents into buying many of those games for my home consoles. Fact was in the 80's you didn't even have to go to an arcade to find arcade machines. You might go to Pizza Hut and find a sit down version of Packman or go out to pick up a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread, and a bag of dog food from the local grocery store and find Donkey Kong awaiting you as you went in or out of the store. You might drop into K-Mart or Hills to go Christmas shopping and find the front of the store had a row of stand up arcade machines just waiting to take you to new and exciting worlds. Point being, the things were everywhere. Now, they are an endangered species. Hi Tyler, Yeah, the same here in the United States. Back when I was growing up every town seamed to have an arcade. Now days only major cities seam to have arcades. Since I am about an hour away from Cleveland and Columbus I don't often get to the big cities to even look for any. If I am in either it is usually around Christmas time doing shopping at the malls and major department stores. Though, I will likely be in Columbus in August to go to the state fair. constantine (on laptop) wrote: I know. You hear about people playing in the arcades and how much fun it is. But the only place we have them is in toronto, as far as I know. Its a gigantic arcade, filled with all sorts of games. Problem is, I don't live in toronot, and only go there in the summer. That might be something I can look into, though, since I've always wanted to try and arcade out. Have a good day from Tyler C.
