Hi,
Yeah--logically if you can press the arrow keys in the game menus you can
probably launch a game from the programs menu by using the same keys.

Best Regards,

The other sad thing is that they rnib over here has sort of picked up on

Hi all,

Choke! Azabat Games actually sells their game packs for $65.32 each?

That is out ragious. I've seen full blown mainstream games for that
from time to time, but those are way more complicated and cost way
more to create. I can pick just about any mainstream game I want off

Hi Tom.

this is true, and I freely admit that I've been pleased to pay about 17
pounds for the majority of audio games in the 25 to 30 usd range.

as a matter of perspective a pizza would cost about ten pounds, (assuming
you don't buy from someone unreasonable like dominoes), so 17 usd is fine.

most of my mainstream games cost 30 to 40 pounds, so about the same price as
the azabat ones jhust as Tom said, though some for more expensive
systems like the wii can be more expensive of course.

Now, that you mentioned it I'd probably kill for a Dominoes pizza

Re: [Audyssey] Phil's price list and other entires

2011-03-03 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Dark,

Agreed. I mean a lot of the games that Azabat Software creates are
quite a bit of like what Spoonbill or Jim Kitchen creates for free. It
is true that Drafts, AKA Checkers, is the only accessible version I
know of, but I'm not going to fork over around $65.00 to get it. Plus
as you say their method of playing from the cd etc is a bit cheesy in
my opinion. Why not let people download and install the games they
want instead. I'd rather just pay something like $15 for Checkers,
since that is a game I'd like to have, and download and install it.
Why should I have to buy the entire collection cd just to get it?

As for non-prophet orgs and companies for the blind latching onto
games etc that are apealing to small children or senior citizens I've
seen my fair share of that as well. I can't count how many times I've
seen catalogs advertising something like the APH games such as Termite
Torpedo, Toodle Tiles, and so on and I can't help but scream enough,
lame! Lame! Lame! Its like can't they find something a little more
adult and something more interesting I'd be interested in?

hi tom

I think we've run into another of those us vs uk differences again. grub
over here, especially from chains like dominoes, subway mcdonalds or
starbux is far more expensive than it is in the states.

For instance, a ten inch pizza from dominoes with three or four toppings is
13 pounds, which is close to 21 dollars, and that's just for the pizza
alone no drinks, side orders or anything else.

contrast this with my extremely nice local pizza place where I can get a ten
inch pizza (and a pretty good one too, actually imho as good as pizza hut),
a side order like onion rings, some very nice chocolate gato and a can of
coke for 10 pounds, that's about 14 or 15 dollars.

I'll stop though before I make myself hungry ;d.

I sort of see what azabat were thinking with the running directly from the
cd business, but given that once something is installed in windows you have
some very friendly shortcuts to launch it, even in the case of complete
computer novices it seems to make litle sense for me, heck it's not so
difficult to create a shortcut key so that this mythical seenile old
computer using pathetic blind person of helpless idiocy can just hit one key
to run the thing, afterall if they're that! computer illiterate would
you trust them not to scratch the cd? ;d.

Back on the price issue, I do think in fairness azabat's games are
negotiable, in fact I recall reading something about them having
downloadable versions of there games for about 20 usd each, though I'm
afraid this stil seems rather much to me.

Really the only one of their games which has ever really interested me is
backgamman, sinse it's a game I've rather fancied learning, but I'm not sure
if I want to pay that sort of money for it.

Spoonbil is another although its only 4 years maybe 3 or less years

There is rsgames which was last year at least for the client.
There is 0128 not sure about simplicity but.
There are some of th experimental projects and then their are
research projects like last crusade and sonic zoom.

Not to mention some others I can't think over my head.
Hmmm some of the aph stuff I guess if you can call those a game.

Re: [Audyssey] Phil's price list and other entires

2011-03-02 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi all,

Choke! Azabat Games actually sells their game packs for $65.32 each?

That is out ragious. I've seen full blown mainstream games for that
from time to time, but those are way more complicated and cost way
more to create. I can pick just about any mainstream game I want off
the shelf and buy it for less than those game collections. I'm sorry
but I think Azabat Games collections are a rip off for that price.

Wow. Based on their pricing alone, I'd say that Azabat can, and probably
will, keep their games. I don't think I'll be buying them any time soon.
Not for a lack of money, but because I value it more than that.

Re: [Audyssey] Phil's price list and other entires

2011-03-02 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Charles,

Yeah, like no kidding. Although, to be fair I think this is probably
an exchange rate issue more than anything. The British Pound has a lot
more value than the U.S. Dollar so if they set their prices based on
the British Pound, which they do, someone living out side the U.K.
has to pay far more to purchase those games than someone living in the
U.K. The Euro and Dollar just don't have the same kind of buying power
and for us it becomes an insane amount of money for those games.

For the record I've experienced the same issues when I was selling
Montezuma's Revenge. For us $35.00 USD is not really a lot. However, I
have gotten complaints from foreign markets where the exchange rates
are so bad between our countries that they would have to pay a years
worth of money to purchase that game. Its not my fault, but just an
issue with exchange rates and our global econemy. I think that is the
same here when it comes to those Azabat games.

Cheers!
