[Gimp-developer] Panels disappearing when changing workspace
Hello all, I'm using the latest svn version of The GIMP and since 2.7 branch I'm facing a problem within XFCE4 DE I'm using. What happens is that when I have one or several images opened and I switch to a different workspace/desktop the toolbox and all other panels (layers, infobox, etc), apart from the image window itself, disappear. Am I missing something? I should admit I didn't checked bugzilla to see if there's anything opened yet, but will open one if it's a misbehaviour. I never inspected that deep as you did, so I don't even know if the svn version has any improvements (but I noticed a speedup in applying an image manipulation filter). -- Matteo 'Peach' Pescarin ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer

This will bring back the GIMP 2.4 default behaviour. oh I missed it :) thanks You might also find it helpful to know you can use Tab to hide/unhide the toolbox and docks. I know that, and I use it only in full screen mode and I feel like pressing the button is not very handful: this is one of the reasons I don't use the fullscreen mode very often. If it will be possible I'd prefer to have a way to leave the toolbox always on top, and the layers dialog to have a sort of mouse over-bring the window over, (hence overriding the wm settings). This means that leaving a little space on the right of the image can give me enough to bring the layers dialog up/down as I like, just moving the mouse. I've synched yesterday and I still get the same problems, I'll start reporting them here, because I'm not sure if I should open a bug report. 1 issue) If I use the color curves on a newly opened image, and modify all the curves (value, and rgb) when I press ok, I get a segfault. 2 issue) sometimes the opacity of the pencil tool (maybe even the brush, but I'm sticking on the pencil in this period, cause of some old school pix art) is set to 90% opacity, even if I've set it to 100%. Did I say something wrong? You can only access your own cursor that way (that of the screenshot plug-in). The point of a screenshot application is though to grab screenshots of other applications. gdk_cursor_get_image() won't work for that. so the only way I can get the right cursor image is using the screenshot for the whole desktop, where the GIMP mouse cursor will not be overridden by the screenshot selector cursor. isn't it? this maybe can be avoided if there's a way to wait _after_ having selected the region/window to grab in this case you can return the GIMP cursor. More than that this can help someone to grab desktop sections/windows while using them. Can we please have such discussions on the list. [Gimp-developer] will the rulers tell me the truth?
I was thinking of a feature proposal. Once you have placed a guide on the canvas, if you wish to know its exact position you should have a snapping tool and watch carefully on the status bar for the right value, isn't it? I don't see any other quick solution on this. What I was thinking about is a simple addon for the rulers: whenever you mouseover the guide (as it turns red) on the ruler will appear a tiny yellow label with the guide position. This will help alot in working with guides. what do you think? should I make a preview for it? -- Matteo 'Peach' Pescarin Jabber ID = [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web Site = http://www.smartart.it GeCHI = http://www.gechi.it ___ Gimp-developer mailing list Gimp-developer@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer
