Not sure. Frankly, I hadn't done much research before ordering - $25 is within my impulse buy range. I think maybe the difference is price - these guys are including a fast charge cable in addition to the tester for $25, while the others you linked seem to be offering just a tester (but with digital output) for $30 or more. If the cable works as advertised then I'll be happy with the analog reader. We'll see. I think you misunderstood what I meant... the Windows 8 PRO upgrade disk... what MS was selling a year ago for $25 download and $50 disk... does not boot by design. It will only run from within windows and it will only install over a qualified OS = XP, Vista, Win 7 with a legal activated license. Re: [H] Win 8 upgrade install.
Yes, I bought a DVD version from Newegg on sale with $40 MS Rebate for an eventual 30 bucks. I just thought I would keep that for a new laptop so I can upgrade to PRO. But it is the same thing as the download able version upgrade disk = install within windows. I know there is a hack way of doing it but I do not trust MS enough not to have them install and update one day and then pop up and say your license isn't good for this install. Besides, this install looks fine to me .. no different then when I installed Windows 7 Pro on top of Windows 7 Home premium.. just delete the old windows folder and it is all good. Re: [H] laptops ?
Ah, OK. I've never thought to do that given what's in store. On Nov 18, 2013 8:41 PM, FORC5 fuf...@cox.net wrote: web site buy online, take back to the store. [H] Old parts
Looking for used parts to repair the kids' machine specifically mobo, cpu, and ram. Hoping to find an old x48, Q6600, 8gb on someone's bone pile for a song if possible?
Re: [H] Win 8 upgrade install.
Both of my win 8 upgrade CD's boot and install fine. I did clean installs with all my win 7 upgrades too (all 13 of them). I was under the impression that all the discs are the same and the only difference is the key to determine which version loads. FYI, mine were both win 8 pro upgrades. Don't know if that makes any difference. They are bootable though. lopaka From: Winterlight winterli...@winterlight.org To: hardw...@lists.hardwaregroup.com Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2013 12:27 PM Subject: Re: [H] Win 8 upgrade install.
