Re: [hlds] Optional TF2 update coming soon
Simply running TF2 on steam with these launch options will crash the game as well: +maxplayers 32 -replay +tv_enable 1 In the meantime I'm just running SourceTV without replay. maxplayers 31 + sourcetv replay leads to raging from the community about uneven teams (15vs16). Re: [hlds] Optional TF2 update coming soon
As stated previously, we've had the problem with and without sourcemod, with and without replay, on 24-slot pure vanilla servers as well as 32-player custom map servers. There is no discernible server errors causing this on our end (nothing in the logs/no crash dumps), and all the symptoms (i.e. the vast majority of hangs occur after a map change when players are joining the server) seem to point to there being an issue with Steam causing the server to hang while players are joining. Re: [hlds] Optional TF2 update coming soon
Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't replay NOT take a server slot? I finally got around to enabled it and my server dropped from 18/18 to 17/17 as soon as I map changed to bring replay online. Was this intended? Re: [hlds] Optional TF2 update coming soon
We have discussed this previously on the list. The hangs seems to be occurring most frequently right after a map change while players are joining the server. There is no crash (or crash dump), the server simply hangs and needs a manual restart. There are no errors in the logs when it occurs. It's been difficult to track down because it has occurred on every possible server config (with and without sourcemod, 24 32 player servers, pure vanilla configs, stock and custom maps, etc.). I am running Windows server 2008 R2 on (underloaded) dual quad core boxes with at least 24GB of ram. Re: [hlds] Optional TF2 update coming soon
The only thing that catches my attention on these hangs is users joining without a validation message, which you normally see after a client joined a server. The hangs seems to be occurring most frequently right after a map change while players are joining the server. There is no crash (or crash dump), the server simply hangs and needs a manual restart. There are no errors in the logs when it occurs. Re: [hlds] Optional TF2 update coming soon
I tried enabling replay + sourcetv on my 32 player server. But when the clients join, they crash with a bogus client index error. Wasn't there supposed to be a fix for this? Re: [hlds] Optional TF2 update coming soon
I have this error, except it hangs for about five minutes, I don't have replay, but then resumes. I don't have to restart.
