Seems to be related to the issue I'm posting about. On further inspection it seems there's been some undocumented changes regarding handling client pre-connections. It looks like a form of killswitch has been added, meaning if the connection is handled improperly/tampered with/etc, the server drops all forms of connection to the master server resulting in no Steam services for the affected gameserver, which includes reporting player counts to the server browser. Would be nice if we could get some form of validation here to confirm or deny this theory. I think it is meant for "Pro like" players that wants to record (locally) their gameplays. Are you on hlds too? You probably got one there and one here. Anyways, the sv_motd_unload_on_dismissal ConVar is about what happens to the MOTD when the user closes it. Before we would just hide it, but the page would still be loaded and taking resources. Some server ops have content in their MOTD that they'd prefer be unloaded when the user closes the dialog (videos, intro music). This also allows use of the onunload event in MOTDs. My Windows server has been acting strange since the update. All animations appear to be disabled... essentially, you see characters moving around without animations playing (they all face the same direction, etc...) FOV randomly resets on people. Turns out it was a corrupted file. Or something the host on that server had to fix; I'm not the primary contact for that server, but it sounded like a -verify_all is what fixed it. Thanks! Speaking of the quick-fix... a medic by himself can deploy uber and become invulnerable. A medic by himself who deploys quick-fix does not get increased self-healing. Holy smokes! That sounds great! Any idea when we'll see it on Counter-Strike: Source? As far as I'm aware, the rate limiting connection convars from the last update haven't been pushed out yet. It's not a typo in the code. I think Jeff just made a typo when he typed up the error message and posted to the hlds list.
