[JAWS-Users] Winamp Not Playing Next file in a Selected List
Dave, Recently you posted about Winamp not playing the next file in a selected list of files automatically. It has been suggested that deleting the .ini file in the Winamp directory will correct this problem. I have encountered this problem before, but I didn't understand why it happened with no apparent reason. Well, here is the most likely cause, which is much simpler Winamp has a command for this particular behavior, and I discovered it while editing ID Tag information in Winamp. Winamp shares a command keystroke with Windows, which is Control + V I verified this in the following versions, 2.8, 5.04 and 5.62. Maybe because of screen echo settings with Jaws or otherwise, the user is not hearing this command when it is activated. I haven't looked for a way to disable this keystroke,so I don't even know at this point if that is possible. While in Winamp, if you look in the Playback sub-menu, you will find the command listed. Interesting what you can learn in the wee morning hours. HTH, Rick Justice For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [JAWS-Users] Unable to copy cd content
I mostly came across this when using windows burner. The cd is seen and can be played, but not copied between other versions of windows. It mostly happens going from like win7 to xp. The reason for this is not backward compatible. Even thought all files used in the burn process are the same in newer versions they have updated code. I have also ran across this using different burn programs on xp doing all the same. The one thing I can say here is don't use a cheap fly by night burn program or what comes with windows unless your going to have those disks used only on that computer. Get a good supported burner and it will work with all computers and anything you put the cd in. [JAWS-Users] re-scripts for itunes
Hi Jo: In ITunes 11 the interface has been changed. You do not need any scripts, you just need to get used to some different key strokes. the December and January FS cast covers how to use ITunes 11. For example use control+s to bring up the sources tree view, sometimes press twice depending where you are in the program. control+shift+h, to go to the ITunes store home page. while on the store pages at any time press control+shift+b, to browse categories, up and down arrow through the columns and use the tab key to go across the different columns of information. the radio stations have changed as well. Press Control+s, to make sure that you are on the source tree view, press the home key to go to music, tab 7 times and press the space bar to check the radio checkbox then press f6 to go to the list of radio stations to stream, press enter to play your choice. Basically, you will use f6, tab, application key to see all the different choices you have depending on what you are sitting on. Home key takes you to the top of a list, end key to the bottom of a list. Enter key to play, spacebar to pause a song and so on. Please listen to the podcast from FS, they really teach you a lot of things and give you good information. I hope this helps... Jim God bless... hi Listers I'm running Windows 7 and using Outlook 2010. Up until yesterday I had no trouble sending emails. However, for some reason today they will not leave the Outbox. I have done an F9 and Control M a few times, closed Outlook and reopened it a couple of times with no success. I have done a reset on the computer and still no change. I have also looked in tools to see if I can find anything with no luck. I am receiving emails with no problem though. I'm also using my husband's computer to send this email. [JAWS-Users] more about num lock
num lock off for the numpad was originally written by a co worker of mine for me. Barry Harper used the dos debug feature to create a routine that at start up would automatically turn numlock off. It was added to the autoexec.bat file in my computer. In the mid 1990s I shared it with FS. It is too bad that Barry was never recognized for that little piece that saved me a lot of grief and many others afterwards. --- Please visit my home page, it is motivational, educational, inspirational with a touch of humor. Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows7 Suggested Settings For Jaws13
ok, tell your friend they need to copy out there personal files then do a clean install of windows 7, installing over vista was what caused the problems. inthaneelf -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Mike B. Sent: Friday, February 15, 2013 9:31 AM To: Jaws-Users List Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows7 Suggested Settings For Jaws13 Hi All, A friend just upgraded from Vista to Windows7. Is there a list of preferred settings for setting up Windows7 so it works best with Jaws? He is having several issues he doesn't know if it's the upgrade didn't go well, settings, Or Jaws. Below is the email I received: It seems to be quite sluggish for one, but most recently it has stopped recognizing commands while on Internet Explorer. It will not recognize the alt key so I can get to the menu where file, view, tools, etc. are located. I tried using the control key and the enter key together on Facebook, but it would not pull up a new page. I began to wonder if the control key and the alt key had gone bad. So, I tried youtube. They alt key and the left arrow (go back) worked on youtube. Jaws will say on youtube control and whatever other key I am pressing. Jaws will say alt and whatever other key I am pressing, but it will not perform the task. I tried tabbing to the menu, but when I got to where the menu should be it just said toolbar button. I select the button and nothing happens. I shift tab up to the address bar and try typing in the location and I get no results. It does not recognize the letters. 1. Alt key does not work as it should. 2. Control key does not work as it should 3. Jaws is not reading what I type in the address bar. 4. Computer is sluggish especially with Outlook 2010. Do you know what may be causing this to occur? I am using Jaws 13. That is the only version available on that computer. I am also using Internet Explorer 9. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all very much. Take care. Mike This email was sent from my, iBarstool. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 14/W-7 and Java?
Chris, apparently your one of those who are totally against java, I don't use it myself, but some folks do, and therefore need java and the java bridge, if you have the location for the files give them to the poor fellow and quit being a pain in the rear end, this is most unlike you? whatthehell? inthane -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Chris Hill Sent: Friday, February 15, 2013 9:31 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 14/W-7 and Java? Well, unless you are going to use libre office or similar, you probably don't need Java for anything. I guess some websites might use it, but unless you know you need it, get rid of it and you'll have one less security issue. On 2/15/2013 11:09, Stormin wrote: I have no clue.
