Re: [JAWS-Users] transfering outlook emails, folders the whole shabang from one comp to another

2014-06-21 Thread david
hello;
I believe you can move the PSTFile which is found in my documents,
outlook files folder.
this will move your folders and messages,
not any rules/filter,
the other way I suppose is, do a outlook backup on the old comp, then move
the backup.pst to the new computer, and import to outlook 2013.

Export Outlook items to an Outlook Data File (.pst)

Information in Microsoft Outlook 2010 can be exported to an Outlook Data
File (.pst). This provides a way transfer Outlook 2010 items to another
computer

or to make a backup.

Folder properties such as permissions and views are not preserved when you
export to an Outlook Data File (.pst). Only the content itself is exported.

1. Enter on the File tab alt+f=file.

2. Up/down arrow enter on Options or you could press the letter t.

3. Down arrow until you hear Advanced or you simply could press the letter
a.

Advanced command in the Outlook Options dialog box

4. Under Export, enter Export.

Export command in the Backstage view

 Note The

Import and Export Wizard can also be opened by selecting the File tab,
selecting Open, and then choosing Import.

5. Enter on Export to a file, and then click Next.

6. Choose Outlook Data File (.pst), and then click Next.

7. Select the account top level folder that you want to export. This
enables exporting all mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes if
available

for that account.

Note Only information for one account can be exported at a time.

Make sure that the Include subfolders check box is selected.

8. Click Next.

9. Click Browse to select where you want to save the Outlook Data File
(.pst) and to enter a file name. Enter OK to continue.

Note If you have previously used the export feature, the previous folder
location and file name appear. Make sure that you change the file name if
you

want to create a new file instead of using the existing file.

10. If you are exporting to an existing Outlook Data File (.pst), under
Options, specify what to do when exporting items that already exist in the
file.

11. Enter Finish.

hope these steps are helpful

I'm sure I saw someone answer this question, but using outlook 2013, how
does one transfer all of their current email set up with all of their
emails, created folders etc from one comp to another using outlook 2013?

Thanks

The link below takes you to the FS website and lists all of the JAWS

When in, say Word, the key combo ins and F1 tapped twice will pull up 12

I sure have not making flash player a default, but there is a newer version
of it I just recently updated to version 14+ and also, you might need to
update the plugin for the flash player, all be on the same page for updating
flash player, just make sure to uncheck the google toolbar and crome tool
bars and your good to go.

here's the site I went to..
Visit the web page below to download and install the latest version of Adobe
Flash Player. Be sure to uncheck the box for installing Google Chrome and
Tool Bar, which is checked by default. If you are also using Firefox, copy

 For

[JAWS-Users] Alternative way of booting into a computer's BIOS

2014-06-21 Thread Scorpio Forever
Hi Folks,

I just got a new laptop, and in my haste to attain the fastest laptop known to
man, I installed a solid state drive in place of the 5400 rpm drive that was
originally installed.

So, with that in mind, I did manage to attain the speeds I was looking for, but
at a cost, for you see, like most laptops today, the manufacturer has switched
the function key settings to their alternate functions, which wouldn’t normally
be a problem, as I could simply go into the BIOS settings and change the
settings around, however, the boot up time with a solid state drive is
practically non-existent. In fact, if I didn’t know better, I’d swear the
computer simply went to sleep instead of shutting all the way down. It
literally takes about two or three seconds for the boot up process to finish,
and so I don’t have enough time to boot into the BIOS setup screen to make the
change.

My question then, is if there’s a way to boot into the BIOS instead of having
to press the setup keystroke.

For those who don’t know what the heck I’m talking about...

When you turn on a computer, any computer, pressing a keystroke before Windows
loads will get you into the motherboard settings which will control your
computer from under the hood, so to speak.

Well, with the speed of the boot up, I don’t have time to go into the settings
using the traditional methods, and so I need an alternative way to do this.

I’m using Jaws 15, latest build, Windows 8.1 and an HP Envy laptop.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Scorpio

Re: [JAWS-Users] Alternative way of booting into a computer's BIOS

2014-06-21 Thread Rick Justice
In Windows 8 and 8.1 you have to disable the fast boot service in order to
allow you to get to the bios.
Don't remember exactly where it is, off-hand,
but I suspect it would be in the system performance settings.
Try searching for fast boot or something similar on the laptop itself.
I could be more precise, but
I don't have an 8 system to look at right now.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Alternative way of booting into a computer's BIOS

Hi Folks,

I just got a new laptop, and in my haste to attain the fastest laptop known
to man, I installed a solid state drive in place of the 5400 rpm drive that
was originally installed.

So, with that in mind, I did manage to attain the speeds I was looking for,
but at a cost, for you see, like most laptops today, the manufacturer has
switched the function key settings to their alternate functions, which
wouldn’t normally be a problem, as I could simply go into the BIOS settings
and change the settings around, however, the boot up time with a solid state
drive is practically non-existent. In fact, if I didn’t know better, I’d
swear the computer simply went to sleep instead of shutting all the way
down. It literally takes about two or three seconds for the boot up process
to finish, and so I don’t have enough time to boot into the BIOS setup
screen to make the change.

My question then, is if there’s a way to boot into the BIOS instead of
having to press the setup keystroke.

For those who don’t know what the heck I’m talking about...

When you turn on a computer, any computer, pressing a keystroke before
Windows loads will get you into the motherboard settings which will control
your computer from under the hood, so to speak.

Well, with the speed of the boot up, I don’t have time to go into the
settings using the traditional methods, and so I need an alternative way to
do this.

I’m using Jaws 15, latest build, Windows 8.1 and an HP Envy laptop.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

2014-06-21 Thread Kimsan
That's what I thought David, but when looking in documents, there is an
outlook folder but nothing in it. I need to find that .pst file.
I googled it last night and followed the steps but when I got to the browse
part, I got lost and all it said was back up outlook.pst or something like
that. Lol.
I will try it again, following your steps below that is similar to what I
found on google.
I'm glad though my email went through, though. I thought the jaws-users
family divorced me, lol.

hello;
I believe you can move the PSTFile which is found in my documents, outlook
files folder.
this will move your folders and messages, not any rules/filter, the other
way I suppose is, do a outlook backup on the old comp, then move the
backup.pst to the new computer, and import to outlook 2013.

Thanks

I sure have not making flash player a default, but there is a newer
version
of it I just recently updated to version 14+ and also, you might need
to
update the plugin for the flash player, all be on the same page for
updating
flash player, just make sure to uncheck the google toolbar and crome
tool
bars and your good to go.

here's the site I went to..
Visit the web page below to download and install the latest version
of
Adobe
Flash Player. Be sure to uncheck the box for installing Google
Chrome and
Tool Bar, which is checked by default. If you are also using
Firefox,
copy
and paste this address into the Firefox address bar to download Flash
Player
for Firefox, and be sure to uncheck the box for installing McAfee
Scecurity
Scan Plus.

Adobe Flash Player. (I also had the same problem, but haven't
uninstalled or yet tried a reinstall. Things like that are usually
resolved with the next Adobe Flash update, for which nobody will have to
wait long!) But definitely Adobe Flash is always quite problematic.

well if your not running MSE, then there should be somewhere within your

Have you at any time recieved a adobe update? It usually happens for me when

still need to uncheck the google/crome and you might have to turn off your

2014-06-21 Thread Mike B.
Hi Trish Tom,

I'm way late on following this thread but, it sounds like you need a better
flash updating program. Here you go. Steps are below the link:

http://www.jaws-users.com/programs/Internet/Alternative-Flash-Player-Auto-Updater-1.1.0.5-Setup.html

These steps are when running the program when starting from a desktop /
start menu shortcut not when the program loads with Windows:

1. Press enter on your desktop / start menu shortcut. After pressing enter
you'll get a dialogue asking if you would like this program to be loaded
when Windows starts. Tab to, No, press the spacebar.

2. The program starts you'll be on the, Updates tab.

3. Tab 1 time to, Local Installations, check update button press the
spacebar.

4. Route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor, Insert Key + NumPad minus, press
the page-up button to take the Jaws cursor to the top of the page, arrow
down 1 line at a time to get the results, Alt + F4 to close.

Take care.
Mike

Re: [JAWS-Users] a more accessible version of Malwarebytes?

2014-06-21 Thread Mike B.
Hi Randy,

You probably updated to version 2.XXX which is not accessible with Jaws.
You need to go back to version 1.75 follow the steps below to keep the
definitions updated but, not update the program. If you reinstall version
1.75 are asked if you would like to update, say no, wait until you get
the settings changed via the steps below before updating. If you're running
the free MWb program, I don't know
if you can make these changes or not.

1. Press enter on Malware Bytes in the system tray arrow to, start
scanner, press enter.
2. With Malwarebytes open, tab until you land on the Exit button.
3. Press the up arrow key once, which will place you on the tabs that
contains Scanner, Protection, Update, etc.
4. Hold down the Ctrl key and right arrow to the, Settings, tab.
5. On the Settings tab, tab 1 time you'll be on the, General tab but, do
not tab right here. You want to press, control + right arrow, to the,
Updater Settings Tab. Now on the, Updater Settings Tab, tab 1 time to,
Download and install
program update if available, uncheck this box. Tab 1 more time to, Notify
me when a program update is ready for installation, uncheck this box as
well.
6. Now tab to, Exit, press enter.

Take care.

2014-06-21 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Randy,

I had the same result with an update. The only way I could have any of the info
read was by using JAWS OCR. You can press JAWS key with the spacebar followed
by O followed by W. After doing that use up or down arrow keys to find the
information. You will need to use left mouse clicks on the various buttons. I
had to use that method in the regular interface window as well as when a window
opened showing detected malware.

Take care.

I sure have not making flash player a default, but there is a newer
 version
of it I just recently updated to version 14+ and also, you might need to
update the plugin for the flash player, all be on the same page for
 updating
flash player, just make sure to uncheck the google toolbar and crome tool
bars and your good to go.

here's the site I went to..
Visit the web page below to download and install the latest version of
 Adobe
Flash Player. Be sure to uncheck the box for installing Google Chrome and
Tool Bar, which is checked by default. If you are also using Firefox,
 copy
and paste this address into the Firefox address bar to download Flash
 Player
for Firefox, and be sure to uncheck the box for installing McAfee
 Scecurity
 Scan Plus.

when I go to the webstream serbice page that my business uses, a school,
 to
view past games on my laptop, only the vidio will open, but not the audio.
utube vidio/audio does open/play, but not any webstream. can this be a
 flash
player problem, and does flash player need to be set as default on my
laptop, and if so, how do I do this?

Hello Randy,

I had the same result with an update. The only way I could have any of the
info read was by using JAWS OCR. You can press JAWS key with the spacebar
followed by O followed by W. After doing that use up or down arrow keys to
find the information. You will need to use left mouse clicks on the various
buttons. I had to use that method in the regular interface window as well
as when a window opened showing detected malware.

Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] a more accessible version of Malwarebytes?

2014-06-21 Thread Brian Lee
Actually Mike and Randy, I just tried it again using OCR and couldn't get past
the first informational screen. I think when I used it before it was when a
threat was detected without me initiating the scan. I thought I had done it in
the main interface but apparently not or at least now it doesn't seem to work
except for giving the information that the system is being protected. Sorry
about that, I sure thought I had used OCR in that application before but so
much for my memory!

Take care.

[JAWS-Users] Malwarebytes!

2014-06-21 Thread Bob Edenhofer
Hi List, to answer your question, malwarebytes is claiming that they’re going
to restore accessibility this fall in later versions of the program, for our
sake, let’s hope they do, if you want to contact them, supp...@malwarebytes.org
it just baffles me, it’s verry disappointing, us blind indaviduals really
depend on that program, I advise you guys to stick with version 1.75.
