It seems to me, that those of us who have been using Windows computers for
some time, find that Windows 7 is more user friendly, while a first time
computer user who buys a Windows 8 or 8.1 PC becomes familiar with the
interface of that operating system and the in's and out's of how to use it.
Although I began using Windows at version 3.1, and probably have used most
versions since then, I purchased a new computer with Windows 8.1 on it and
installed Windows 8 on my old Windows 7 PC, then upgraded it to 8.1. I have
become quite adept at using 8.1, and I like a lot of it. I will say however,
that if it weren't for the ability to boot to the desktop and the use of a
third party start menu program, I would not like it as well. Also I have now
reverted back to windows 7 on my old PC because it seems to run better with
that installed on it. So, what I am saying is, I think it all has to do with
what one gets used to.

You might be able to get part of an install done with a screen reader,
but if you want something that is fool proof, you will want to consider
making an unattended installation file. Believe me, when done right, it

Using Windows7 32 with Jaws15, Thunderbird portable 3.31 since I haven't

to use Insert+Escape to refresh the EMail so that Jaws can read it,

appears onscreen. Is this normal behavior? Thanks for ideas because it
can sometimes get a bit annoying having to every about three to four
EMails, to refresh via Insert+escape to refresh!

12/2012.1. If you haven't done so then go to Add/remove programs and
uninstall anything that remotely resembles 'bing' in the listing.
2. Hit the windows key to go to the windows7 edit search field and type
msconfig. then go to the services tab, make sure 'hide all Microsoft
services' is unchecked and then go down the long list there to see if you
can find any listing with the word 'bing' in it. uncheck them, hit apply,
then Ok and then you need to restart your computer.
3. Again go to the windows search edit field by hitting the windows key and
type regedit. In the results, hit enter on regedit.exe.
Now no need to be scared of screwing up your registry as if all you do is
what I say below you will be just fine. You don't need to be any PC expert
to do this in your registry. Once in the registry after hitting enter on
regedit.exe, hit control F and type in bing. then hit alt F. You are
searching for any entry in the super vast registry files and folders for any
entry with the words bing in it. Each time you land on a result, hit the

You are
searching for any entry in the super vast registry files and folders for
any entry with the words bing in it. Each time you land on a result, hit

After deleting the first entry with the word bing in it, hit F3 to jump to

2014-07-19 Thread Mike B.
Hi Fred,

Try either 1 of the notes below to remove:

From: Trouble

For any version of IE. Open browser, do a alt + t for tools menu and arrow
up to Internet options press enter. Now tab down to search default
settings
 press the spacebar.
Arrow up / down make sure, Search Providers is checked. Now, tab to the
list box it should show you the search engines you have. Just arrow down and
see if google is there. If so then tab to make default and hit enter. If not
then tab to find more search providers.. and hit enter. This will open the
gallery and tab to search providers and hit enter. Now do a control + f and
type in google to search page. You should land on google search hit enter.
Now tab to Add to Internet Explorer and hit enter, you might have to tab to
another, add button press the spacebar. This will put it in the list of
search
providers. Now you can arrow to it in the list and make it the default.
After its the default arrow to bing in that list and tab to remove. You can
check
and see if it show, but it should be gone. Now tab to close and then to
apply if show if not ok. your done with the browser. Now start menu and go
to program
and features. See if bing search and or tool bar is there. If so tab to the,
remove button, hit enter on both to remove them. Now you are completely
done..

 From:
spiro@iamspiro
enter IE alt-t for tools go up to manage add ons enter you should land in
extensions and toolbars arrow down to search providers tab and it will list
the
search providers in my case it has google arrowing down it shows others that
are disabled. So when you find that bing, tab to disable, when you hit that
it will become a enable button tab to remove if you want to trash that bing,
that's what I do. then go back in and look for google and it will either be
auto-enabled as the default, or you can tab to enable. If it is not in your
list you can choose the tab for list of search providers.
