SAVING CONTACTS IN OUTLOOK 2010
1. To create a contact, pres CONTROL+SHIFT+C.
2. Once you have completed the fields, press CONTROL+S to save the
contact.
3. You can access your contacts in two separate places.
A. Locate the Contacts folder in your Folders list, CONTROL+Y
B. Additional contacts may be located in a folder called Suggested
Contacts, also found on the Folders list.

If your system is set up for this purpose, your contact will automatically
be suggested when you begin typing it into the To field.

NOTE: As you move through the fields, you will find the option to show the
contact name in various ways. You can choose which you prefer by arrowing
down the list of options, then moving on to the next entry. Outlook offers
many fields which I don't use such as phone numbers, web addresses and so
on.

Hello Gang:

I have been to text and number processing, but still can't get the numbers
to read like I want.

I would like it to read in pairs. For instance, the number 1952, I would
like for it to read nineteen fifty two; Not one thousand nine hundred and
fifty two. Using MS Word 2010.

None of the choices in number processing made any sense. Tried several, but
nothing seemed to work.

 Suggestions? Thanks. Neil

Hi

I can't speak for Outlook 2013, but if you have a non-Gmail account, another
way to receive messages you send to an email list using the Gmail account is
to set up your Gmail account to use the outgoing server from your non-Gmail
account. You'll have to specify the user name and password for the outgoing
non-Gmail account. I like this method better because with the recent-colon
method, you receive a copy of every email you send via the Gmail account.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2013 question about Gmail

The question has arisen about configuring a Gmail account to receive your
own messages posted to a mailing list. I was under the impression the fix is
still the same as it was for several years placing the word recent with a
Colon after that before the account name on the server tab.

I must admit that I don't have 2013 although with some stumbling around am
able to figure things out when needed. I tried the fix mentioned above but
the server would not accept the password for the account until I removed the
recent fix so to speak.

So what is needed is somebody with greater experience with outlook 2013 to
chime in and give me some much guidance.

It is annoying when something I know should work does not and screws up my
batting average for the lack of a better term.

[JAWS-Users] outlook flagging misspellings I never type, and they're in French

2015-09-15 Thread Daniel
Hello all,

Outlook was working fine before I went to town tonight, but when I got home
and sent a message to the eyes-free list, and it started automatic spelling,
as that's how it's configured, it started flagging words with French
accents. I never typed. I'm running jaws 16.0.4350, Microsoft office
professional 2013, and windows 10 professional insider preview, build 10230.

Any help is welcome,

Daniel

Re: [JAWS-Users] how do you stop start up programs from running

2015-09-15 Thread Mike B.
Hi Ed,

No, I would not have checked that box. I've set-up 5 or 6 different Windows
7 computers, & have yet to get that option. I just made some changes in,
msconfig, & used the Jaws cursor to review the screen & since I've never
unchecked that checkbox before, it should have been there but, it was not.
Maybe this checkbox becomes unchecked when other settings changes are made
but, you aren't notified aboutit. I'm not arguing that it doesn't exist,
just saying I never unchecked it & I've never saw it.
Take care.

I did check out my W7 on the msconfig start menu and that message came up.
It also gave you a check box to check it you didn't want the message to
come up again. I am guessing you guys put a check in this box which made it
not come up again.

[JAWS-Users] updating JAWS 16

2015-09-15 Thread Pinky
Hi Everyone.

I know on this list people have advise to go to the FS site and download the
update from there. I went and downloaded the file JAWS 16.0.4350 which I
believe is the last update for JAWS 16. I understand it is better and safer
to download this file then to just update it from the message that comes up
on my pc every time I start JAWS. Please let me know if this is the correct
or safest way to update my JAWS.

[JAWS-Users] 7-zip tutorial

2015-09-15 Thread James Eastmead
Hi;

I am looking for a 7-zip tutorial. I copied and pasted together the
relevant pieces of 7-zip's help section. It was marginally helpful. 7-zip
is a very powerful program. It has more features than Winzip ever did. I
really would like to learn how to use it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, yeah, previous e-mail did not actually include a link, and since there
is a days in it, something you don't hear with a screen reader first time
through it would make it difficult for some, and frankly I remember the name

Just something I wish would be fixed. It should be in help. Not that help

Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook 2013 question about Gmail

2015-09-15 Thread Mike O'Brien

The question has arisen about configuring a Gmail account to receive your

still the same as it was for several years placing the word recent with a
Colon after that before the account name on the server tab.

Re: [JAWS-Users] creating a signature in Outlook 2010

2015-09-15 Thread Kimber Gardner
Hi,

This may seem a bit convoluted, but it's not too bad really.

Create a new message -- alt H, N
Go to the insert tab -- alt N and arrow down once to the incllude box
Arrow right until you reach the signature dropdown and press enter.
You'll find yourself on the word signatures followed by an ellipses.
Press enter. You are now in the email signatures tab.
Tab three or four times until you get to the "new" button and press
enter. Once you've done that, you will be in an edit box where you
want to type the name of the signature, like My Sigline or whatever.
Type the name then tab to ok and hit enter.
Now you will find yourself in a tab with all sorts of options like
which account you want the new signature associated with, the font,
alignment, whether you want the signature added to replies or forwards
etc. The last tab before ok is the edit box where you will type the
text of the signature. Once you type the text, tab to ok and press
enter.

If you have questions, let me know.

Hi Al,
You could try the partition thing.
But I agree with you, more hassle then it is worth for only using 2 or 3
times a year.

Good luck...

Jim,

Good thought, crossed my mind as well. Just tried and got
the same message that I need 6 GB of space to proceed.
Looks to me like the only solution is to move that restore
partition onto the memory card and then expand the primary
partition to make room. For the little I use this thing, not
sure it is worth doing as the tablet already has Windows 8.1
on it and I'm comfortable with that. Also, only use this
thing 2-3 times a year when traveling.
I mainly just wanted to give Windows 10 a play before
upgrading my main Windows 7 desktop unit.

Hi Alan,
Just a thought, since I do not have a tablet to test.
Put the Windows media creation tool on your micro memory

See if this will do the trick.

Not sure how I would connect that to the tablet as it only

Looking for some ideas. I have a Dell Venue Pro 8 32 GB
tablet. I followed all upgrade advice FS had on their
website regarding JAWS. I have downloaded the media creation
tool and when I run it to install the upgrade on my tablet,
I get the message to free up additional space as the upgrade
needs 6 GB of space. I only have just under 4GB available.
Not much else I can do to free up room. Dell has a restore
partition that takes up 10 GB and I have MS Office installed
along with JAWS and that is about it. I installed a 64 GB
micro SD card in the expansion slot hoping some of that
could be used, but no go. Thought on getting rid of or
moving that hidden partition? Any ideas folks have would be
appreciated.

I know some folks on this list have the same
tablet so wonder how they are getting around this?

Best,

Al

[JAWS-Users] JAWS 16 number processing; MS Word 2010

Hello Gang:

I have been to text and number processing, but still can't get the numbers

I did check out my W7 on the msconfig start menu and that message came up.
It also gave you a check box to check it you didn't want the message to
come up again. I am guessing you guys put a check in this box which made it
not come up again.

I have been using Windows 7 since it was released, and
on every installation, that dialogue has never come up on re-boot.
You do get it every time a change is made however in Windows XP.

Thanks. Neil

Looking for some ideas. I have a Dell Venue Pro 8 32 GB
tablet. I followed all upgrade advice FS had on their

tool and when I run it to install the upgrade on my tablet,
I get the message to free up additional space as the upgrade

Not much else I can do to free up room. Dell has a restore
partition that takes up 10 GB and I have MS Office installed
along with JAWS and that is about it. I installed a 64 GB
micro SD card in the expansion slot hoping some of that
could be used, but no go. Thought on getting rid of or
moving that hidden partition? Any ideas folks have would be

I know some folks on this list have the same

Re: [JAWS-Users] Win 10 upgrade dilemma

2015-09-15 Thread Alan Robbins
Dave,

Not sure how I would connect that to the tablet as it only
has a microUSB connector for the power cable. Could I run
that tool from the 64 GB micro SD card I installed?

Best,
Al

Recommend you get a 20 Gb external solid state drive, and
run the media creation tool from there.

Best,

Al

Re: [JAWS-Users] Another setting you might want to turn off in w-10

2015-09-15 Thread jim

Hi Mike,
You forgot to down arrow to speech, inking, and typing, press enter.
Again here are the instructions.
Windows key+i.
Right arrow to privacy, press enter.
Down arrow to, Speech, inking and typing, press enter.
Tab one time, listen to what it tells you.
If it says, stop getting to know you, it is on.
If it says, get to know me, it is off.

Hi Jim,

I do not get anything like this. The first item in this list that you have
described on my computer says, "Let apps use my advertising ID for
experiences across all apps, turning this off will reset your ID". I see
nothing about "Getting to know me".

Hi group,
there is a setting under privacy, called, speech inking and typing.
When this is on, your computer sends all kinds of information to Microsoft.
Such as info about you, and your contacts, your calendar, your search
history, and your preferences.
How to turn this setting off.
Windows key+I, right arrow to, privacy, press enter.
Down arrow to, Speech inking and typing, press enter.
Tab one time, if turned off, should say, Get to know me button.
Tab again, it will say, go to bing settings, you can go here to manage how
bing works, and manage bing history.
Last week when I was demonstrating Cortana, this setting was automatically
turned on, even though I previously had it turned off.
Just letting you know, of another setting which collects info about you and
your computer.
This is the only thing that I wish Microsoft would change in w-10, this
constant collecting of one’s computer information.
Thank you and have a nice day...

A Ballast for My Soul

Life is like a stormy sea
That tosses to and fro,
But God's Word will ever be
A ballast for my soul.

By its truth I'll be held fast
Till I reach heaven's shore
Where I will be home at last
And sail life's sea no more!
