I don't know if the list accepts attachments, so I'll e-mail you privately
with an attachment containing instructions for creating e-mail signitures in
Outlook 2010.

I haven't done this for a while, but the instructions did help me when I
needed to do this a couple years ago for my work e-mail account.

I know you have Outlook 2013, but hopefully these instructions will still be
helpful.

[JAWS-Users] Signature, Creating Them In Outlook

2016-07-17 Thread Mike B.

http://www.jaws-users.com/text/email/Outlook/SignatureForOutlook.html

Creating a signature in Outlook.

Press alt T for tools.

Press O for options.

Control tab to the mail format page.

Tab until you find the signature picker button and hit enter.

Tab to the new button and hit enter.

You can give the signature a name and then tab and the default is a start
from a blank signature radio button.

Tab to next and hit enter.

Type in what you want your signature to be.

Tab to finish and hit enter.

Tab to okay and hit enter.

This will automatically put your signature in your messages. If you don't
want it there, when you are on the mail format page, you can tab to a combo
box right before the signature picker button and set it back to none or pick
a different signature to be your default.

Tab to okay and hit enter.
Go Back
Take care.

Hi Zoe,
You can use the insert+the number one on the number row to turn keyboard
help on and off.
By using this command you can touch any key on your keyboard and Jaws will
tell you what the key is. When you are done do the insert+number one key to
turn it off.

The pause key is the top right key on the desktop keyboard.

2016-07-17 Thread Mike B.
Hi Kevin,

After updating to the latest J17 build I had to go into the Jaws context
menu / options / Voices / Voice Adjustment, & make changes to the following:

PC Cursor Voice
Jaws Cursor Voice
Keyboard Voice
Tutor and Message Voice

What you might be hearing is the voice pitch changes of the above settings.
All the above default settings have various pitch settings which will make
things sound weird / different than what you're used to with your preferred
settings.

As far as Jaws changing languages, go into the Settings Center default all
applications, arrow down to, Text Processing, right arrow to open, down
arrow to, Detect Languages, uncheck this box, tab to, Okay, press enter to
save the change & close.

You can also turn the, Language Detect Change, option off in Jaws quick
settings, Insert + V, for individual applications.

Take care.
Mike

I don't think I did, but I never made it a point to remember stuff like
this!

Did you have this problem with previous releases of JAWS? If not, I wonder
if it's related to the memory usage query that Aaron posted earlier.

I have found at certain points when I use my computer, jaws voice changes.
usually it is smooth and very understandable other points it is grumbly.I
have also experienced jaws announceing text in another language and what is
displayed on my computer screen is english because I’ve had a sighted person
check.
what’s going on with jaws, I’m using jaws 17 latest.
