[JAWS-Users] One Drive Instructions And Tutorial Link Needed
Hello, everyone. I recently experienced an external hard drive failure, and, although I have been able to salvage most of my files from the internal hard drive on my computer, I am missing a file I put together of instalation and setup instructions for One Drive. The file contained some instructions I compiled from various list members, as well as a link to a very helpful tutorial. If someone can send me some basic one drive instructions, plus the recently-posted link to the One Drive tutorial, that would be appreciated. If it helps, I'm using Jaws 2018, Windows 7, and Office 365 here. Since I now have office 365 home, with a terabyte of one drive storage, I think it would be wise to take advantage of this cloud storage option. Thanks in advance for any help. Thanks so much, Jim. These instructions are very helpful. I do have one or two more questions, though, and will ask you those questions in a separate off list e-mail. Thanks again! [JAWS-Users] one drive
Something was bothering me about one drive in windows 10 until a little research solved my problem this morning. I like to move such animals from my system drive to the data partitions that all of my systems have. Windows 10 removed the little feature that made it so easy in 7, so I was under the impression it could not be done. Fortunately it can, look for the instructions to end up on the tips and tricks page probably today. Oh yes, it feels good to bring down the 600 pound gorilla. The way it looks to me at least is that anything you put in your one drive directory gets uploaded automatically. Conversely anything you remove from the same place locally gets deleted remotely as well, sort of like drop box in that regard I imagine. Re: [JAWS-Users] one drive
I am planning to install 1drive but I had no trouble setting up Google Drive and it is another free 15 gb and also works like Dropbox. I put my family videos in there and was totally surprised that the avi format videos played on my iPhone from the Google Drive app. Now I want to set up 1Drive to put my photos and maybe some music to store. I tried the iDrive last yearand got the bargain 100 gb but the interface is impossible with Jaws. I can't get to the files online to delete them and make room for the ones I want. I have also used Carbonite for a few years but it was also hard to access online and even for the medium level it would not automatically back up my home videos. I had to mark each one separately and then at some point their server had a blip and all the videos disappeared again. And the videos of my kids are the most important thing on my computer!! I have not found One Drive to be real accessible, especially when dealing with it online. If you want to open a document through the online interface, it opens it in one of the Office web applications, and these are totally unaccessible. It is working rather well. The interface couldn't be much easier. It's like drop box, pop something in there and it uploads automatically. Apparrently, using windows 8.1 OneDrive comes preinstalled, so there is no need to install it? Is there a difference between the OneDrive ap on my win 8.1 comp vs what folks are downloading? When I launched the OneDrive app, I was lost lol. I installed the desktop application and so far it looks quite simple to manage. It looks like you just paste something in there either a file or an entire folder / directory of files and they automatically upload to the cloud. Granted the directory only had 2 files in it but I figure that is enough for a first test. So far no issues with accessibility at all I am pleased to report. Re: [JAWS-Users] one drive
I've occasionally gotten around the captcha problem by contacting the site which is blocking my access. Some sites are willing to manually sign me up if I request. After all, they benefit from having two more eyes to read their ads. Agree with your take on the audio messages. I used to givem a huge rugby try until I calculated my success rate and frustration level. Not worth doing any more. The kids have gotten really good at reading the captchas for me. Thank you for getting back to me. Patty said the same thing about it showing up in windows explorer since she saw it on another ladies computer in her office. That person is sited which is why I wanted an answer from somebody who knows from what I would need. According to what the page said last evening you now get 15 gig of free storage and I believe 100 for $1.99 a month. Just looking around so to speak, kind of expanding my options. I might even do some recordings down the road some day. Re: [JAWS-Users] one drive
Hi, When I installed Office 2013 about a year an a half. I believe theere Was an option to download MS 1. I had to create a new username @outlook.com and a password to enter the MS 1 cloud. I didn't had to fiddle with anything to join at the time. If, I remember, it gave me 7 gigs of storage. Besides having your personal space, You can create links and store stuff to share with your friends to enter your cloud, better than dropbox and more secure. I honestly have not mess with it much, because of time and learning things from this club.
