Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum
Hi, and also to you, Mike. I solved the problem by typing out the entire path and filename in the filename edit field. the Webvisum extension is now installed. I have no idea why the browser function wouldn't get me there. In case someone runs into the next problem I encountered, let me tell you what you need to do if Webvisum doesn't recognize you when the Webvisum log-in screen appears, which happens the next time you open Firefox. You're told to go to Webvisum preferences, which you get to by pressing alt-t, then w for Webvisum, then enter, then down-arrow once, and again press enter. Here you can tab through the username, password, etc., fields. Unfortunately, my password was no longer working. I pressed spacebar on the "don't remember password" button, but nothing happened, nor when I pressed enter. The solution is to go to www.webvisum.com and try to log in there. If you fail, as I did, you'll be given the new password option. Although the website isn't being updated, it still works for this purpose. When I went back to the Webvisum preferences dialog in Firefox, my new password was accepted. This is one way to spend a couple of hours on a hot and humid Saturday afternoon, but not exactly my favorite. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of JM Casey Sent: Saturday, July 01, 2017 3:03 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum That's very strange. Hi Adrian, This is how I install Firefox add-ons: To install add-ons from within Firefox: In Tools / Options / Security the checkbox, Warn me when sites try to install add-ons checkbox, needs to be unchecked. To install add-ons when they've been downloaded to the downloads folder with Internet Explorer: 1. Open Firefox, press, Alt + F, for the file menu. 2. Arrow down to, Open File, & press enter. 3. Tab to the, Look In combox & arrow up / down to highlight the Downloads folder. If the Downloads isn't showing you'll have to navigate to it. 4. With the Downloads folder highlighted tab 3 times to the contents of the Downloads folder, arrow up / down to highlight the file you want to install & press enter on it. Note: this is for my particular case because the Downloads folder is where my downloads go to by default from Internet Explorer. Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Sent from my iBarstool. I'm not sure, especially about this add-on in particular, which has never worked for me (though I'm going to try it again now), but if you are running the 32-bit version of firefox, definitely get the 32- bit link. Note that I have "all files" selected in the Firefox open file dialog, and I have file extensions set to show in Windows Explorer. For example, I have numerous files in a folder I call "Accessible programs." When I browse with Firefox's open file dialog, only two are picked up, neither of them the Webvisum extension. Mike, along with anyone else who might have an answer. I've downloaded Webvisum and attempted to install it via the method described on the Blind Bargains page. Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum
this version of web visum will work through version 52 and the e s r versions. Webvisum CAPTCHA Solver returns to Firefox Scott Davert Apr 15, 2016 09:19 AM ET James Scholes, the creator of Codex, announced on Twitter the availability of a newly signed version of the Firefox extension called Webvisum. Webvisum has been a service which, among other things, allows for the solving of captchas on forms and in other places on the web. It works with Firefox for Windows only, and has been free ever since its first release. Unfortunately, as of the end of 2015, the extension no longer functioned in the latest builds of the Firefox browser. Users could continue running the old version of Firefox and use the extension, but would be at risk of losing significant security updates from Mozilla. Mr. Scholes has created a newly signed version, which will now work with the newest releases of Firefox. You can download it from this link Mr. Scholes wishes to make it clear that he has no affiliation with the Webvisum Project, but that the version of the extension has gone through Mozilla's official signing process. This extension is free, like the older version of it was, and you will still be using Webvisum's servers. Your account information will still be valid if you had previously signed up for an account. When I installed the extension, I also was not required to even sign back in, even though I removed my previous installation of the Webvisum extension. Installation The best way to get this working on your system is to navigate to the link above and press your Applications key or Shift f10. Choose to save link as, and download it like you would any other file. After downloading and saving it to your specific location, launch Firefox and press control O to open a file. Browse to the download, and press enter on it. Following the prompts, and then restarting Firefox, should have you running Webvisum successfully just like before. If the above process does not work, it is likely because the older version of the Webvisum extension was previously disabled by Firefox, as it has not undergone the official signing process linked to above. If this is the case, open Firefox and press Alt T for the Tools menu,, followed by selecting "add-ons" by pressing enter. Then, press tab to get to the list view for the various types of add ons, and press you re up or down arrow to find "extensions. Then, press tab until you reach the list of add ons installed on your version of Firefox. Arrow down to Webvisum, then press shift f10, or your applications key to launch the context menu. Arrow down to remove and press enter. Category: News Displaying 3 comments. darknexus Friday, 15-Apr-2016 11:46 AM ET: It would seem, though, that the servers are still unmaintained as of yet. Since then, it will not work and I have noticed that when I try entering my data again, that the user name appears but my password is not present. When I enter it and try clicking OK, the dialogue freezes. The OK will not activate and save the settings. I can click cancel and return to the main window, but the add on won't work. I have of course uninstalled and reinstalled and the results are the same. If anyone knows what is going on would they please respond to my e-mail at aa...@roadrunner.com. Thanks in advance. Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum
Hi Steve, No, ums, about it, I stated that in my P.S., but like I said, I had read that sometimes it's better to run 32 bit programs verses 64 bit programs, & I was only looking to see if that exist in this case as well. I also pointed out the discrepancy so that others can download the version that is going to work best for them & not be confused by the download choices. I was able to download both versions, so that tells me that either of them can be used. Personally I run the portable versions of Firefox, & as near as I can tell from the properties of all 3 portable versions I use they're all 32 bit. Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum
Hi Net bat, I noticed that there are 2 different Windows download links, Windows & Windows 64, but in the properties there isn't an explanation of any differences between the 2 of them. Do you know of any differences between the 2 versions, & which version would be the best 1 to run on a 64 bit computer? Thanks much. P.S. The answer might be obvious, but if 1 of these is a 32 bit version, I've heard that it's better to run 32 bit versions of some programs even if there's a 64 bit version available. Take care. Mike. the consumer version is not the same as the e s r, extended service version. the consumer version has to be upgraded every 6 weeks to get the security updates. the e es r version only updates once per year but you still get allthe security updates dureing that year. -Original Message- From: leonard morris Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2017 7:30 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Webvisum I use Firefox v47.0.1 which works with Webvisum. Old and dated news. Webvisum is back up at its normal URL, no need to add that workaround. I agree though, as a person who has donated twice, it won't survive without support. I don't know what their status is, other than the domain was brought back. I haven't had communication from the developers for several emails extending back to the beginning of the year. [JAWS-Users] webvisum log in problem
Hello, I would like to know about the webvisum add-on of firefox. Since couple of months, I was using this add-on successfully. Very recently, after getting formatted my computer I have again installed the firefox version 3.5 and downloaded the webvisum and tried to log in with my old account. But to my surprise, after inserting the log in details in firefox/tools menu/add-on/webvisum preferences/general tab and pressing space bar on option button in this tab page, despite giving my log in details as used by me earlier I could not get the message “you are loged in to webvisum ok button” on restarting the firefox. I was getting this loged in message earlier but now I am unable to log in to webvisum. So could anyone suggest me any trouble shooting procedure for my problem as mentioned above. Also please do let me know as to: 1 Am I right in following the steps to get the log in to webvisum? 2 do I need to follow any additional steps to log in to webvisum as per any current changes made to webvisum by developer of this add-on? Your response in this regard is highly solicited. Thanks, For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

I know the new version works with FF4, not sure about FF3. I think webvisum.com could answer this one better. Re: [JAWS-Users] webvisum log in problem
It sounds like your Webvisum extension has not been enabled. Go to Tools Add-Ons, switch to the extensions tab, select the Webvisum extension in the list and press Tab. The Webvisum no longer seems to be automatically enabled when it is installed. Another good way to check whether you are logged in is to go to Tools Webvisum and arrow up. There will be log in and log out options. If the log in option is unavailable. you are logged in. *Don Marang* Vinux Software Development Coordinator - vinuxproject.org http://www.vinuxproject.org/ There is just so much stuff in the world that, to me, is devoid of any real substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am working on things that matter. -- Dean Kamen On 4/26/2011 5:07 AM, korbamukesh wrote: Hello, I would like to know about the webvisum add-on of firefox. [JAWS-Users] Webvisum.
hi, am I right in thinking that Webvisum can only be used with Firefox? I've got a few things I want to sign up to, and they all involve using verification with captcha. I'm currently using outlook express, but don't mind changing if I have to. Any help will be appreciated. I haven't been on this list for quite some time because of the high volume of emails, but it's nice to be back. Regards, Richard. Hi richard, Yes webvisum is a firefox add on, which is a browser not an email client. So no need to change from OE to anything else. Re: [JAWS-Users] WebVisum had to switch to an invitation-basedregistration system
Hi Shannon, there is a Login / Register link on the WebVisum homepage (http://www.webvisum.com). The form requires you to enter an invitation code. Only someone who is already a member can invite you, and with that invitation e-mail you get that code you have to enter. marco Shannon wrote: How do you register for this? - Original Message - From: Marco Zehe[EMAIL PROTECTED] To:jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2008 3:32 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] WebVisum had to switch to an invitation-basedregistration system Hi Alex, no, if you have registered and can use the WebVisum extension normally, you don't have to re-register. Re: [JAWS-Users] WebVisum had to switch to aninvitation-basedregistration system
Hi, No, you will still be able to log in and use it just like before. However, you can send Invitations to new users and if they have the invite code, they can register.
