Hi Rose, Does this port work at all? And, can you actually insert the drive or other device into the port? You could have a bad port if nothing works in that one particular port, or if a device refuses to plug into it, you may be trying to insert a USB device into the HDMI port on your computer. They are almost identical, but the HDMI port has two of the corners which are rounded while the USB ports are square at all four corners. It can be hard to determine why a USB device will not work in one port, but will in another, I have a Kingston 3.0 flash drive, and two USB 3.0 ports sitting side by side on my notebook PC, and the drive will work in one of them, but not the other. All of my other devices will work in either one. Go figure. The only way I have been able to tell is to take a USB 3 device and plug it in. When you plug in to a USB 2 port, it tells you it can run faster in a USB 3 port. When plugging it into a USB 3 port, it says nothing.
