I had just done it cause Jaws was not showing in the sys-tray, if my 6 items are not there, then I have to fix that. jaws was missing it's spot in the lineup, so when I rebooted, this is when the activation screen popped up. - Original Message - From: leonard morris lmorris1...@gmail.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Wednesday, December 11, 2013 6:03 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws Authorization I think it's a bug dating back several versions ago. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws Authorization
My only suggestion would be to run it in 40 minute mode and see if it runs out. I remember on another laptop I had previously it used to tell me the same thing when I plugged it in and then when I unplugged it. It never actually ran out, it would just warn me about that every so often. Anoying but never actually real so didn't pay attention to it much. Anyway, just test the 40 minute mode to make sure it in fact runs out. If that's the case then just call FS. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS authorization troubles
you might be able to roll it back, but think your pretty much set on that activation still coming up. Jaws will ask for reactivation when ever you change or up grade video, CPU or any drivers related to such. At 08:35 PM 5/4/2012, you wrote: Hi all, I've just about had it with JAWS authorization. Today, I did, what I think, normal users would do in most cases when setting up a machine: installed Windows, installed and activated JAWS, and then applied the updates offered in Windows Update. Two of those were driver updates, which I guess messed up the ILM system, because I'm suddenly being asked to reactivate JAWS. This never happens with Microsoft Office activation, Windows activation, or really any program I've ever used other than JAWS, and I'm definitely not alone here - I happen to know others experience similar bizarre issues. Is there anything I can do, with a weekend ahead of me where Freedom Scientific's offices will not be reachable, to restore JAWS to a proper state? Should I try to temporarily roll back drivers - maybe that will restore the activation? FS, if you're listening: I absolutely love JAWS, but am not so pleased when I cannot use my legitimately purchased copy of it. Hi Patrick; Follow the steps below to find out how many activation keys you have left. I posted a question to FS about how to determine the number of activation keys remaining. In case any of you wanted to find out, here are their instructions, verbatim: Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific Support. We suggest going to FSACTIVATE.com http://www.fsactivate.com 2. Click on the continue product activation button. 3. Down arrow to: Verify the number of activation keys available for your Freedom Scientific product and press enter. 4. Down arrow to serial number and again down arrow to edit. Type in your JAWS serial number and press enter on the submit button. 5. Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws authorization problem
Hi Patrick. If your version of Windows 7 is Enterprice or Ultimate, and you only have the standard Jaws license, than you cannot register, because these versions needs pro license of Jaws. You ust also be sure, that you have upgrades in your license, while you have inserted the disk for Jaws 10, and if this is the last version you have license for, than you must upgrade first. Good luck. Hans Pauli. -Oprindelig meddelelse- Fra: Patrick Dato: 29. maj 2011 15:20 Til: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Emne: Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws authorization problem Hi, Thanks. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Authorization Number
Hi, I'm getting the same messages as well. Your authorization number for Jaws 9 should be on your software CD packaging. If you're trying to activate over the internet, you might not have authorization to upgrade to 11 until they charge your credit card, or otherwise make record that you upgraded. As I recall from my last upgrade from Jaws 6 to Jaws 9, it took about a day to obtain my new authorization. If you go to fsactivate.com you will get further instructions on what to do, as well as the number of licensing codes you have available and for what version they'll work. If you aren't authorized for version 11 in a couple of days, I would call the sales department.
