Re: [JAWS-Users] C Cleaner Inquiry

2017-03-03 Thread Scorpio
Another work around, is to check the heading of each section. This will
cause all of the checkboxes to be checked, so that when you come across them
as you go through each of the items, the item will be checked by default, so
all you have to do is uncheck them.

I should also note that this method also forces the checkboxes to show, so
no having to worry about the checkboxes being invisible anymore.

Hope this helps.

Hi Adrian,

Go into the ENU folder of the Jaws version veing used, & remove this file:

CCleaner64.JCF

This will undo that checkbox crap, but don't delete it, just cut it out, &
put it somewhere you can access it in case you want to put it back. This
file doesn't contain any of your CCleaner settings, these settings are in
the, .INI, file in Program Files.

I appreciate the thought. However, I just followed these steps, and the
result is a much worse problem. Now, when I arrow up or down the list of
items to check or uncheck, only one item is verbalized at a time. I have to
arrow down, tab once, shift-tab back to the list to hear the next item.
Moreover, I can't change the status of any checkbox.

I tried to undo this operation by deleting the new window class, but it
hasn't changed the behavior. I also uninstalled and reinstalled CCleaner,
but the behavior stays the same.

Any suggestions for how I can undo the impact of this operation?

Once you press, Alt + R, to start a scan, after it's finished if youpress,
Shift + Tab, 2 times you should be in a list of items that have been removed,
or are waiting to be selected to be removed. If you run the Analyze option

I just downloaded the C Cleaner ap, thanks to the knowledgeable JFW users’
assistance. I ran the scan on it, and I was wanting to know how to find out the
results of this scan. I tried using the JAWS cursor, to no avail. I probably

Hi, if you want jaws to read the status of the buttons in Tools, Options, &
Settings do the following.
1. Find an option you know the status of.
2. Press, Insert + 7, on the number row above the main keyboard.
It will say add configuration file. The name
should say Ccleaner64 press enter
Then it will say edit button.
Tab once arrow down to check box.
Tab to add class button press space bar. Then to ok.
NOTE THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED WITH CCleaner!

Hi Adrian,

Good point! Since I remove everything I just select all & run it, but I've go
through the options about once a month to make sure that nothing has changed
because of a CCleaner update or whatever the hell else can happen with
computers. LOL Jaws not announcing the state of thecheckboxes is a pain, so
it's very important to listen carefully when pressing the spacebar on the
checkboxes so you know if you're checking or unchecking something.
Take care.

Mike,

I find that list box useful. There are some types of data I want to retain,
such as passwords. I go down the list item by item to make sure anything I want
to preserve won't be deleted. Unfortunately, at least on my system, JAWS
doesn’t verbalize whether an item is checked or not until I press the spacebar.
After that, the checked/unchecked status of that item will be shown throughout
that session. However, JAWS still fails to verbalize this detail for the other
items until I go through the same process item by item.

The reason it would be useful for JAWS to verbalize the status of each item in
the list is that CCleaner doesn't check everything by default. For example, the
default for passwords is unchecked. So, chances are when CCleaner runs, it
won't delete items you want to keep. But you never know.
I'd discourage anyone from running the clean function until they've gone
through that list and made sure only items they want removed are checked.

You shouldn't have to use the Jaws cursor anywhere on the program as it's
completely accessible.

When the scan is finished, you should land on a button. Shift+tab up from
that button and you'll land on the results.

Have things changed since the last version I downloaded and installed?

assistance. I ran the scan on it, and I was wanting to know how to find out
the results of this scan. I tried using the JAWS cursor, to no avail. I
probably missed something in it. Thanks in advance for any help.

You shouldn't have to use the Jaws cursor anywhere on the program as it's
completely accessible.

When the scan is finished, you should land on a button. Shift+tab up from
that button and you'll land on the results.

Have things changed since the last version I downloaded and installed?

Hi Jerry,

Once you press, Alt + R, to start a scan, after it's finished if youpress,
Shift + Tab, 2 times you should be in a list of items that have been
removed, or are waiting to be selected to be removed. If you run the
Analyze option press, Control + A, to slect all, then Alt + R, to run
CCleaner & remove.
Take care.

Just tab around. Eventually you'll arrive at the list of data components that
you first encountered when running the scan. This time, the list tells you
which data were removed and how many files were deleted.

Now tab to fix selected issues when the scan is done.
A dialog comes up saying, do you want to save changes to the registries,
yes button press the spacebar to save a copy.
A save as dialog comes up, just tab three times and press enter on the save
button, this places a copy in your document folder.

Tab to fix all selected issues button and press enter.
Tab to the close button and press enter, or if you are done with the program
just press alt+f4.

How to run the ccleaner.
Open the program.
Tab to the cleaner button and press the spacebar.
Tab to the analyze button and press the spacebar.
After it is done just tab to the run c cleaner button and press the
spacebar.
A warning dialog comes up, just press the spacebar which is on the yes
button.

At any time you can use the jaws cursor to read the screen.
I hope these steps will help you.
Getting ready to leave now, I will check the list later to see if you have
any problems.
This is a great cleaning program, just takes a little time to get use to
it...

Re: [JAWS-Users] c cleaner

2013-08-08 Thread Scorpio
If it asked you to purchase the program in order to remove the registry
entries, then it wasn't C-Cleaner.

The actual program is completely free to use, unless you purchase the Pro
version, which I can't speak to, so don't ask me to list the difference
between the two.

Anyway, tab to the registry button and press the spacebar.

Once you do this, tab to the list of checkboxes that outlines what
C-Cleaners scanners should check the registry for.

Check and uncheck the boxes according to your wishes.

Once you have finished all the checkboxes, tab twice to the Scan for issues
button and press the spacebar to activate.

Wait until your screen reader reports that you are back on the scan for
issues button, at which point, you can shift+tab to go to the results pane
to view what it has found.

Once you have reviewed what it's found, or if you simply want to bypass the
results, tab to the fix selected issues button and press the spacebar.

You'll be placed in a dialog box that asks you if you want to back up your
registry. You can select to do this or not, it's up to you.

Once you've made the selection to back-up your registry or not, you'll be
placed in another dialog box where you can select the issues you want to
repair.

If you feel there's something that should not be repaired, then shift+tab to
the issues list and uncheck the box. I always just tab to the fix all
selected issues button and press the spacebar. Once done, you'll be placed
on the close button, so press your spacebar to activate it.

Now here you have to watch out because for some reason, Jaws sometimes loses
focus on the cleaner, so you have to alt+tab to go back to it, or, if the
cleaner is the only window open, you'll have to go to your desktop, then
alt+tab back to the cleaner.

Depending on what point in the registry cleaning process you lost focus on
the cleaner, you may have to spacebar on the above close button, or continue
on below.

Not sure about you, but I always run multiple scans of the registry to make
sure I've taken care of all the problems issues, along with the problem
issues created when the original problems were fixed.

This is sort of like pruning a tree. If you don't prune the tree at the
largest branch and start at the bottom of the branch, you have to keep
pruning until the problem area is cut off.

This would be how C-Cleaner and most other registry cleaners work. It
starts at the bottom of the branch, and works it's way up. Now, I'm not
going to pretend to know how the registry works, or what it's structure
looks like, but it's enough to know that I run the cleaner several times
until the cleaner reports that no items found in the results window.

In other words, rinse and repeat as needed.

Hope this helps.

Yes, c cleaner is free and totally works with jaws.
You can also get the defrag program from them as well, it is free
also and works well with jaws...

does anyone know if c cleaner is fully jaws compatible, and if it is

then it said to entirely fix all registry errors I have to purchase
the software.

The Slim doesn't have the crone. And that is a slimmed down version without
all the bells and whistles.

Does the same clean up as the regular program.

The actual program is completely free to use, unless you purchase the
Pro version, which I can't speak to, so don't ask me to list the
difference between the two.

Anyway, tab to the registry button and press the spacebar.

Once you do this, tab to the list of checkboxes that outlines what
C-Cleaners scanners should check the registry for.

Check and uncheck the boxes according to your wishes.

Once you have finished all the checkboxes, tab twice to the Scan for
issues button and press the spacebar to activate.

Wait until your screen reader reports that you are back on the scan
for issues button, at which point, you can shift+tab to go to the
results pane to view what it has found.

Once you have reviewed what it's found, or if you simply want to
bypass the results, tab to the fix selected issues button and press
the spacebar.

You'll be placed in a dialog box that asks you if you want to back up
your registry. You can select to do this or not, it's up to you.

Once you've made the selection to back-up your registry or not, you'll
be placed in another dialog box where you can select the issues you
want to repair.

If you feel there's something that should not be repaired, then
shift+tab to the issues list and uncheck the box. I always just tab to
the fix all selected issues button and press the spacebar. Once done,
you'll be placed on the close button, so press your spacebar to
activate it.

Now here you have to watch out because for some reason, Jaws sometimes
loses focus on the cleaner, so you have to alt+tab to go back to it,
or, if the cleaner is the only window open, you'll have to go to your
desktop, then alt+tab back to the cleaner.

Depending on what point in the registry cleaning process you lost
focus on the cleaner, you may have to spacebar on the above close
button, or continue on below.

Not sure about you, but I always run multiple scans of the registry to
make sure I've taken care of all the problems issues, along with the
problem issues created when the original problems were fixed.

This is sort of like pruning a tree. If you don't prune the tree at
the largest branch and start at the bottom of the branch, you have to
keep pruning until the problem area is cut off.

This would be how C-Cleaner and most other registry cleaners work. It
starts at the bottom of the branch, and works it's way up. Now, I'm
not going to pretend to know how the registry works, or what it's
structure looks like, but it's enough to know that I run the cleaner
several times until the cleaner reports that no items found in the
results window.

In other words, rinse and repeat as needed.

Hope this helps.

For anyone intersted, here is the direct download link:

This should always get you the latest available slim build version.
Thus I would recommend turningoff automatic updates in c-cleaner

Sure it's accessible with Jaws as it is just a dialog-based program.
It is free for both personal and commercial use.
I personally found it reliable when working with disk monitoring and
registry. It will even remove some cookies from your browser cache.

For maintenance purposes, you might also consider having a good firewall
program like Zone Alarm or WinPatrol. These will make sure that your
computer does not attract unnecessary attention from the network.
Also you may try the Sophos Rootkit Revealer to clean your PC of any

You can still have the firewall to protect that wireless network from
any attack. Anyway, you can worry about firewall when you are part of a
big network, for example when you connect your laptop wireless network

Most hardware hubs may provide some form of firewall, but an added layer
of security is always a bonus when dealing with a large-scale attack

 Hi.

I've used C Cleaner for a while now and when I run it, I have all the
options checked in the list as I'm not sure what they all do. I've
 listened
to the tutorial on it, but it's above my head to be honest so I'm
 wondering
what other C Cleaner users on this list have checked and unchecked in the
list of options. There's quite a long list and I'm sure that they don't
 all
need to be checked so I'd like some advice on what to uncheck please if
 that's possible.
 Thanks.

Hi, are you behind a proxy server? For some reason programmes don't like
being behind proxy servers unless they're bypassed in some way or you
configure the programme correctly to connect to the proxy server. I know I
have similar issues with my programmes, despite me using a programme to
bypass the thing! I just get on with it and update my Avast and Super
Antispyware manually. Windows Update, well, that's another thing for

 Hi Lisa,

Yes, CCleaner works very well with JAWS 9. The program is set up in a
standard dialog box structure where you can use the tab key and shift-tab
 to
move forward and backward through a dialog box. You can also use Alt key
with the underlined letter of a control to activate it so that you don't
have to tab to the control and press spacebar or enter. For example,
 Alt-R
activates the Run button, which starts the scanning and removal process
for the page of the dialog box that is active, which is the Windows page
when you first start the program. When you first use the program and
 press
Alt-R a child dialog box will appear with the OK button in focus. If you
use the tab key you can move to a checkbox for telling the program not to
show this confirmation box, and check it by pressing spacebar. After
checking the box tab to the OK button and press spacebar.JAWS will
announce the percentage of completion as the program scans and removes
items, but quite often after hearing 100 percent scanning and removal
 will
begin for another area of the computer, so you should wait a few seconds
after hearing JAWS say 100 percent to see if it starts announcing
 percentage
progress again. If you route the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor, do a page
up, and use down arrow to the line under where the Windows tab and
applications tab are shown, you will hear whether or not cleaning is
complete. This might vary a little on different systems, but the
 scanning
complete notice should be given on a line not far under the page tabs.

After you have made PC cursor active again you can use tab or shift tab
 to
move to where JAWS says Windows tab and use right arrow to move to the
Applications page tab. Use Alt-R again to run the program in this page.

Before running the program you probably want to set the program to only
remove the types of items you want removed. After opening the program
 and
before invoking the run button, use Shift-tab to move to the tree view
 of
choices. If you use the shift-tab then you will find the tree view of
choices after you hear the page tabs announced. Use down arrow in the
 tree
view and check or uncheck items using the spacebar. For example, if you
don't want all cookies removed then be sure to uncheck the cookies
 choice.
You can always remove tracking cookies with a different program such as
 Super Anti-
Spyware or Ad-Aware. Keep using down arrow through the choices in the
 tree
view and use spacebar to check or uncheck items. the checkmark means
 that
those types of items will be removed, if not checked then those items
 will
be left alone. I think you can feel pretty comfortable with the default
settings, although if you don't want the recycle bin emptied then you
 might
uncheck that item, or if you don't want auto complete form history
 deleted
then you can uncheck that box, etc. The only one I have unchecked in the
Internet Explorer list of items is the cookies choice, as I only want
 tracking cookies removed.

If you use tab key to move to the page tabs and right arrow to the
applications tab, you can then use shift-tab to move back to the tree
 view
and find a list of programs that have cached temporary files that you can
remove. If you want to uncheck any of these choices then use down arrow
 and
uncheck the box, but I think that you probably will just want to leave
 the
 default settings.

After you have set your choices they will remain as set for subsequent
 times
when you use the program. Each time you run the program you will only
 need
to use the run command by pressing Alt-R for the Windows page of the
 dialog
and then move to the applications page and perform the run command with
 Alt-R.

Take care and have a great day!

 Hi Lisa,

Yes, CCleaner works very well with JAWS 9. The program is set up in a
standard dialog box structure where you can use the tab key and
 shift-tab
 to
move forward and backward through a dialog box. You can also use Alt
 key
with the underlined letter of a control to activate it so that you don't
have to tab to the control and press spacebar or enter. For example,
 Alt-R
activates the Run button, which starts the scanning and removal
 process
for the page of the dialog box that is active, which is the Windows page
when you first start the program. When you first use the program and
 press
Alt-R a child dialog box will appear with the OK button in focus. If
 you
use the tab key you can move to a checkbox for telling the program not
 to
show this confirmation box, and check it by pressing spacebar. After
checking the box tab to the OK button and press spacebar.JAWS will
announce the percentage of completion as the program scans and removes
items, but quite often after hearing 100 percent scanning and removal
 will
begin for another area of the computer, so you should wait a few seconds
after hearing JAWS say 100 percent to see if it starts announcing
 percentage
progress again. If you route the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor, do a
 page
up, and use down arrow to the line under where the Windows tab and
applications tab are shown, you will hear whether or not cleaning is

The only one I have unchecked in
 the
Internet Explorer list of items is the cookies choice, as I only want
 tracking cookies removed.

If you use tab key to move to the page tabs and right arrow to the
applications tab, you can then use shift-tab to move back to the tree
 view
and find a list of programs that have cached temporary files that you
 can

Hi

Not to ad confusion to the subject, but when I had to roll Media Player back a

removes some kind of small Windows install files or something such. Maybe they
were just trying to get people to use their product instead, I don't know.

when you use the program. Each time you run the program you will only need
to use the run command by pressing Alt-R for the Windows page of the dialog
and then move to the applications page and perform the run command with
Alt-R.

Take care and have a great day!

 Hi Brian,

In your post for C Cleaner did you include a direct link? If you did my
computer failed to read it and I have to figure out why. If by chance
 there
isn't a link posted could you please send it? I went on the send space

Here is a link on SendSpace where it will be for the next couple of days.
When on the Sendspace page list the links with Insert-f7 or if using a
laptop then caps lock f7 and press C until you hear ccsetup207.exe.
 Press
enter on the link to start the download process.

The file I uploaded to Sendspace is the latest version.

 Take care.

 Hello Sue,

I recommend that you run the program manually because there are two
 page
tabs in the program. If you run it automatically with the /auto
 switch,
 I
think that you will only be cleaning items in the Windows page of the
program. There is an applications page in the program where cached
 items
from other programs are cleaned, which should be done after cleaning
 the
items under the Windows page. If you want to close the program when
cleaning is finished you can go into advanced settings by pressing
 Alt-O
 for
options and then using tab key to move to the advanced button. After
pressing spacebar on the advanced button you can tab to a checkbox for
closing program when cleaning is complete and use spacebar to check the
 box
or to remove the check mark. Also if you press Alt-O and then use tab
 key
to move to the settings button and press spacebar, you can then use tab
 key
to move to a checkbox for starting the program when Windows starts.

Another setting that you might or might not want to change is in the
advanced settings of the program and is for only cleaning items from
 the
Windows temp folders that are more than 48 hours old. It is simply a
checkbox that can be checked or not checked, but by default it is
 checked.

Again, I recommend you manually do the scanning and scan in both the
 Windows
and the Applications pages of the program. In fact, I noticed under
applications there are such items as Windows Defender, regedit, Adobe
Reader, MSN Messenger, Sun Java, Office and others.

I might be wrong, but I think that if you perform the run function
 when
you first start the program that it only will clean for the page of the
program that is the active page. If one run cleans both the items in
 the
Windows page and the Applications page then of course an autorun should
 work
 well.

 Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] C cleaner.

2008-05-18 Thread Brian Lee
Hi Lisa,

Yes, CCleaner works very well with JAWS 9. The program is set up in a
standard dialog box structure where you can use the tab key and shift-tab to
move forward and backward through a dialog box. You can also use Alt key
with the underlined letter of a control to activate it so that you don't
have to tab to the control and press spacebar or enter. For example, Alt-R
activates the Run button, which starts the scanning and removal process
for the page of the dialog box that is active, which is the Windows page
when you first start the program. When you first use the program and press
Alt-R a child dialog box will appear with the OK button in focus. If you
use the tab key you can move to a checkbox for telling the program not to
show this confirmation box, and check it by pressing spacebar. After
checking the box tab to the OK button and press spacebar.JAWS will
announce the percentage of completion as the program scans and removes
items, but quite often after hearing 100 percent scanning and removal will
begin for another area of the computer, so you should wait a few seconds
after hearing JAWS say 100 percent to see if it starts announcing percentage
progress again. If you route the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor, do a page
up, and use down arrow to the line under where the Windows tab and
applications tab are shown, you will hear whether or not cleaning is
complete. This might vary a little on different systems, but the scanning
complete notice should be given on a line not far under the page tabs.

After you have made PC cursor active again you can use tab or shift tab to
move to where JAWS says Windows tab and use right arrow to move to the
Applications page tab. Use Alt-R again to run the program in this page.

Before running the program you probably want to set the program to only
remove the types of items you want removed. After opening the program and
before invoking the run button, use Shift-tab to move to the tree view of
choices. If you use the shift-tab then you will find the tree view of
choices after you hear the page tabs announced. Use down arrow in the tree
view and check or uncheck items using the spacebar. For example, if you
don't want all cookies removed then be sure to uncheck the cookies choice.
You can always remove tracking cookies with a different program such as
Super Anti-
Spyware or Ad-Aware. Keep using down arrow through the choices in the tree
view and use spacebar to check or uncheck items. the checkmark means that
those types of items will be removed, if not checked then those items will
be left alone. I think you can feel pretty comfortable with the default
settings, although if you don't want the recycle bin emptied then you might
uncheck that item, or if you don't want auto complete form history deleted
then you can uncheck that box, etc. The only one I have unchecked in the
Internet Explorer list of items is the cookies choice, as I only want
tracking cookies removed.

If you use tab key to move to the page tabs and right arrow to the
applications tab, you can then use shift-tab to move back to the tree view
and find a list of programs that have cached temporary files that you can
remove. If you want to uncheck any of these choices then use down arrow and
uncheck the box, but I think that you probably will just want to leave the
default settings.

After you have set your choices they will remain as set for subsequent times
when you use the program. Each time you run the program you will only need
to use the run command by pressing Alt-R for the Windows page of the dialog
and then move to the applications page and perform the run command with
Alt-R.

Take care and have a great day!

 Hello Sue,

I recommend that you run the program manually because there are two page
tabs in the program. If you run it automatically with the /auto switch,
 I
think that you will only be cleaning items in the Windows page of the
program. There is an applications page in the program where cached
 items
from other programs are cleaned, which should be done after cleaning the
items under the Windows page. If you want to close the program when
cleaning is finished you can go into advanced settings by pressing Alt-O
 for
options and then using tab key to move to the advanced button. After
pressing spacebar on the advanced button you can tab to a checkbox for
closing program when cleaning is complete and use spacebar to check the
 box
or to remove the check mark. Also if you press Alt-O and then use tab
 key
to move to the settings button and press spacebar, you can then use tab
 key
to move to a checkbox for starting the program when Windows starts.

Another setting that you might or might not want to change is in the
advanced settings of the program and is for only cleaning items from the
Windows temp folders that are more than 48 hours old.

If one run cleans both the items in
 the
Windows page and the Applications page then of course an autorun should
 work
 well.

 Take care.

enter on the link to start the download process.

The file I uploaded to Sendspace is the latest version.

 Take care.

If one run cleans both the items in
 the
Windows page and the Applications page then of course an autorun should
 work
 well.

 Take care.

I've recently downloaded C Cleaner and I find that it works really
 well.
I noticed in options that C Cleaner can run automatically when the
computer starts up but I'm wondering if it fixes issues automatically
 or
if you have to scan for them.

Please can someone let me know.

It would be worth noting, that while you had a bad experience with the
program,
overall, it may be a good utility.
Many users experience varied results with disk maintenance utilities.

CCleaner is one of these cleaning tools for your computer. It removes
all junk from your hard drive, and can also fix problems with the
registry. However I wouldn't recommend this programme personally as I've
had problems with it, and thus use the built-in Disk Cleanup utility to
clean my junk instead. Hope this helps.
