Exactly, especially hard for teams with limited number of participants (like 1).

Hi Jwtiyar,

For Format -> Locale setting, you probably should add ckb version to
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/tree/i18npool/source/localedata/data,

Not sure about separate UI langpack file for LibreOffice.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Incorrectly translated string in many languages

2020-07-13 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hi Mihkel,

For Kazakh latin script/layout - no official version yet, haven't
heard of any progress in that area, only drafts/suggestions were
announced.

For now it is safe to consider only current Kazakh layout which is
based on Cyrillic script,

We have a comma mapped to the main keyboard's `6` key which gives `;`
when pressed with Shift
(and period on `7` key, with Shift gives `:`).

Thanks for your initiative!

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Plural forms in Pootle

Dear Sophie,

We've been using "nplurals=1; plural=0" form for quite a while in,
say, GNOME and Xfce, and Mozilla as well and never had any problems.

Could you please revert the Pootle plural form of Kazakh language to it?

I will silence the printf checks then as Christian suggested.

Thanks,

Hi Joan,

You have to log in to Pootle, open your language, then project (libui),
and on right side panel you will have the link to download zip archive.

Links itself is like
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/export/?path=/kk/libo_ui/

Just noticed that about half of the messages

as fuzzy. Browsing through them, I didn't notice any
change of those original messages.

Were they marked fuzzy by a mistake?

Language code is Kazakh (kk)

In result, some internal folders are being shown on main page
and the number of entries has doubled.

See https://translations.documentfoundation.org/kk/libo_ui/

[libreoffice-l10n] Inconsistency between web stats and downloaded PO file

2014-11-24 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hi,

I just noticed that there are inconsistency between what I see
on web stats and downloaded PO file.

Checked on
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/kk/libo_ui/cui/uiconfig/ui.po

Web page says: total 1886 strings, fuzzy 373, untranslated 105 (total
481 not ready)
Downloaded PO file: total 1886 strings, fuzzy 0, untranslated 536

I didn't trigger updating from templates or anything else,

Thanks,

Hi Christian,

I see that LibreOffice 4.4 – UI project added 8333 messages.
Does it mean that we can start our work on 4.4 l10n? E.g. update
finished, everything is ok?

Thanks!

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Unstranslated strings in new print dialog

2014-06-25 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hi,

I have GTK UI 100% translated to Kazakh.
For example I took one string "Print text in black", and I see it is
translated in Pootle
(https://translations.documentfoundation.org/kk/libo_ui/translate/sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui.po#unit=40113340)
but in the print dialog this message is in English (http://imgur.com/VlceDNe).

[libreoffice-l10n] Unstranslated strings in new print dialog

2014-06-20 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Good day,

I have installed LibreOffice 4.3.0 RC1 from rpms,
and still I notice that new pring dialog is not completely
localized. Some strings are on English.
On Pootle I have 100% translated Kazakh language.

There will be another round of templates update?

Thanks,

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] [pootle] Templates updated for 4.3 (help and ui)

2014-06-02 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hi,

I don't know the easy way, but what I could think of is:

1) restore message to pre-updated state via archive Chrisian provided and ask
him to run update

2) If you have hunspell for you language available, then using python-polib,
you could extract all translated messages, split them by whitespace/dot/comma,
put them to a set (python object which allows only unique objects to
exist in it),
and run a hunspell check over all words, printing only words which do
not pass the
spell checker.

Thanks,

Good day,

Again the Pootle has put translations from another language
as fuzzy translations, after the Update from templates link
finished its work.

See for example
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/kk/libo_ui/translate/#filter=fuzzy&unit=46410474

Could you please fix that?

Thank you very much

Hello,

Thanks for heads up,

I get an connection timeout error for the Update from templates link,
(I suppose it takes so long that Firefox decides that server would not respond)

After I re-open the https://translations.documentfoundation.org/kk/libo_ui/
I see that many (6968) of the correct strings are in Needs work state now.
Is that because of Update from templates failed?

Hello Christian,

Thanks for explanations, I am aware of importance of the comments,
I was just curious about that specific, first-line comment,
as it does not belong to any entry in PO file, so it is thrown away by Poedit.

Cheers,

While preparing to 4.3 translation, I have

contain a comment like this as first line of file

#. extracted from cui/uiconfig/ui

These comments are gone if I save the PO file

Is it safe to remove these comments from PO files?

Do we have to update against templates manually on Pootle, or will it
be done from command line (the safe way)?

Hi,

Pootle gives an error message when downloading zip file fails. Please
attach such message.
(it has reference to error).

That function works for Kazakh, at least.

However when I am trying to update Kazakh language, it says
"Error while updating translation project against latest templates."

You can check by yourself, if required.

[libreoffice-l10n] Duplicated strings in Pootle

2013-12-02 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Good day,

I am working on Kazakh translation on Pootle,
and I see that there are so many duplicated strings there.

I understand that often they are from different modules, so
they have to present in each module. I am curious
whether it is planned to do something with these
duplicated strings. E.g. combine them in one place.

For example, current 4.2 tree has 29491 messages,
but only 19308 messages are unique.

Thanks,

Hi,

Kazakh language has one single form (nplurals=1; plural=0;), so Pootle's
version is correct.

Good day,
As I understand, the android folder will be moved out of libo_ui project.

Another question is that Android phone vendors provide localized
Android versions for some markets, while stock Android may lack
those locales. For example, here in Kazakhstan, most of Android phones
have Kazakh locale available.

Just for information,

Thanks

I said 'main' because I convinced several people to help me, but their share
is around 280 messages in total. I can surely ask for their permissions.

[libreoffice-l10n] L10n compatibility with Apache OO

2013-11-14 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Good morning,

I am the main translator of LibreOffice to Kazakh language.

I also want to import my work (Kazakh translation) to Apache OO (in the future).

Can I just take and upload it there? What about license,
I mean I have already contributed my work to LO, and it is
under LGPLv3 and MPL now. Is it compatible with Apache OO?

Thanks,

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Filtering strings on Pootle by submitter

2013-11-07 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Finally I made it using custom tools,
the Final percentage of Kazakh l10n of LibreOffice 4.1.x dropped to 51%,
rest 49% are fuzzy currently.

As I explained earlier, Kazakh l10n consisted of old translation and
my translation,
and old one was in bad shape. I have decided to mark it all as fuzzy
and check it
all over again.

This is a lot of work, of course, but, at least I will be sure for quality of
Kazakh localization.

Thanks for reading.

Hello,

Then I vote for "Hide my submissions" or "Show all but my submissions" option.

Sorry for off-topic.

Hello,

Yes, also mozilla.locamotion.org has this 2.5.1-alpha1 version of Pootle.

It looks very solid, even being alpha.

I understand that the feature I am asking about is not quite common.

Also, the remaining 50% of old Kazakh l10n of LibreOffice was imported into
Pootle,
and it does not have any submitter. So, filtering by submitter won't help
much.
I guess I will continue the current workflow.

Thanks for your answers,

Hello,

The reason I am asking is that current situation in Kazakh l10n of
LibreOffice 4.1 is that
50% is old l10n, and 50% is done by me. Unfortunately, the quality of that
old 50% is below the
appropriate level.

Now I have to check that old 50% and I need to distinct it somehow.

I am wondering whether Pootle admins able to mark all strings not
translated by me
as fuzzy. Or is there any other way to solve this?

Thanks,

Fedora 18, 64-bit. I took build files from
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/libreoffice.git/
and adapted by replacing translation files for my language with
the fresh version. I can share the build script, but it is too simple.
I have disabled the builds for now though, because I am not currently actively
translating LibreOffice.

PS: I also have tried to build LibreOffice for openSUSE using the Build Studio
(at build.opensuse.org) but it takes like eternity to complete the build there.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Do translations from Pootle go to nighly builds?

2013-01-27 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
I agree

Are the spec files of daily RPM builds available somewhere?
I suppose I could build language pack for myself.
It would be a great help for localization process.

Thanks

[libreoffice-l10n] Do translations from Pootle go to nighly builds?

2013-01-26 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hello,

I am working on Kazakh localization of LibreOffice, on official Pootle server.

And I was wondering how to test these translations?

I have installed nightly build of LO. But it seems like translations do not go
to nightly builds of localization packs.

Thanks,

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Language name is incorrect in LO

2013-01-26 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hello,

I am afraid it is still listed as Kazak in

shell/source/win32/shlxthandler/util/utilities.cxx

Could you please take a look?

[libreoffice-l10n] Language name is incorrect in LO

2013-01-25 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hello,

I am using nightly builds of LibreOffice 4.0. I am testing Kazakh
language translations.

However, in LO, the language is called 'Kazak', which is incorrect,
and should be
changed to 'Kazakh'.

When I search it in translations, I can see that it is located in
svtools/source/misc.po

Should I file bugreport about that?

Regards

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Kazakh translation team

2012-03-01 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Thank you!

I participated in Mozilla Firefox translation into Kazakh language,
so I am aware of this kind of job.

What I am planning is to put some effort to find new translators.

Cheers,

I couldn't find the Kazakh team from

so there is no coordinator for it currently, right? Could I be the one?

I also need permissions for Kazakh team on

[libreoffice-l10n] Kazakh translation

2010-11-19 Thread Baurzhan Muftakhidinov
Hi all

There was Kazakh translation for OpenOffice 2.3 prior to 3.0
Unfortunately, it wasn't maintained.

There is no Kazakh PO file in main git branch
(http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/build/tree/po),
but there is Kazakh Language Pack in downloads for LibreOffice 3.3beta3.

http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/testing/3.3.0-beta3/rpm/x86/

So, is there Kazakh PO file, which I can pick up and work on it?
