Leif, A Pedigree Chart has a set format... specific data it will show.  There
is very little you can add... see the Report Options > Include tab.  Basically,
you will get name, birth date & place, death date & place, and for males
marriage date & place.  --Paula

When making a Pedigree report I see that the marking "This couple did
not marry" is empty in the field of marriage on the report, only the
MRIN-number is there. When the above marking is maded I would expect the
above sentance to appear on the report. Why didn't it?

Pedigree Charts only include dates and places for marriages. Status
indications (divorced, separated etc. and the did not marry check mark)
are not included.

2014-04-02 Thread Bobby Johnson
Thanks Brian. Here is what Jairmie from Tech Support indicated:

Bobby,

You found a bug but not in the sense that you think. Legacy is not supposed to
allow boxes and pictures at the same time. If you want pictures you cannot
have boxes, but in order to have the colors like you want you must have boxes
(4 line colors) so by changing the settings and then changing the line colors
you are getting around Legacy's parameters. You found a work around to our
parameters and this is a bug because Legacy is not supposed to do what you are
doing.

Re: [LegacyUG] Pedigree Report Problem

2014-04-02 Thread Brian/Support
Your option to not put boxes around individuals and Colour text and
boxes are mutually exclusive. To have coloured boxes you have to turn on
the boxes around individuals. If you turn off boxes the report will be
in black text only.

You can customize the text colour by right clicking on the boxes in the
custom colour screen where you choose the colour text and boxes to be
used but each box has to have its text colour set individually. Those
text colours are only used with coloured boxes so if you turn off boxes
you cannot have coloured text.

You do not say how the report looks when you preview it although you do
say "When I preview the report it is as I would like to see it.". Are
there boxes or not? Are they coloured?

Having said that however I did test your assertion that the saved
settings were not working. I set up and saved a pedigree chart with
settings to use both boxes and colours. I then closed the pedigree
chart, reopened it and used reset to set the chart to default settings.
With the defaults the chart used boxes but no colours. I also set up,
previewed and saved another setting file for a chart without boxes.

I then loaded the saved chart settings for the coloured boxes and when I
previewed the report the chart did use boxes and colours. If I then
loaded the saved file for the chart without boxes a preview of the
report did not use boxes.

I am sorry that I confused you. I do understand what the "load" and "save"

settings so that I could recall them when needed. It didn't work. The Other

Your post is a bit confusing because you talk of Saving and Loading the
Report, but you refer to "'Save; in the lower right corner of the window."

The Save and Load buttons in the lower right corner are for saving and
loading a set of Options, not for saving the Report itself. If you
create the Report as you want it, then save the resulting PDF file that
will re-appear just as you saved it every time you open it, just like
any document file will. If you want to create a similar report starting
with a different individual you can Load your saved Settings file and
your chosen settings, as for the earlier Report, will be applied to the
new Report.

[LegacyUG] Pedigree Report Problem

2014-03-26 Thread Bobby Johnson
Using: Legacy 8-414 Windows 8

I am having a problem with the pedigree report "Report Options" and "Color
text and boxes" sticking. Every time I return to this report I have to
setup my options. I even set them up and "saved" the report. When I load
the report the settings are not correct.
Here are the settings I am trying to use:

Pedigree Report
Report Options...
Format Tab - uncheck "Put boxes around Individuals"
Pictures Tab - Check "Pictures of Individuals"
click "Close"

"Color text and boxes"
click "Set four line colors" and then "save"

When I preview the report it is as I would like to see it. Now I save the
report by clicking "Save" in the lower right corner of the window and give
it a file name.

I have to repeat the above steps each time I use this report even if I load
the saved report. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Re: [LegacyUG] Pedigree Report Problems

2014-02-02 Thread Boyd Miller
I had this problem with the 6 generation report, and the fonts were also
a variety of different sizes, which changed when I put boxes around the
names!.
Support suggested that I delete the Pedigree.usr file (My docs/Legacy
family Tree/_AppData/Usr) but this didn't solve the problem. Sherry is
working on it for me - will report back if possible.

My 4 and 5 generations per page are good, but a 6 generation per page
completely dislodges the connections.

Re: [LegacyUG] Pedigree Report Problems

2014-02-02 Thread Sandy Larkin
My issue is with Pedigree View, starting with myself and working back in my
maternal line. Pedigree view is fine until I select my maternal great
grandmother. I can’t get beyond her BUT when I print the Pedigree Chart
everything is fine and in order. I worked with Michele/Support on this issue
and cleaned up a lot of little things, just not this issue. Because I can run
Legacy 8 with the latest update on my office laptop, we are thinking that
perhaps I have a setting on my personal laptop causing this glitch. The
information below is the last email conversation with Michele. We also checked
screen resolution on both laptops. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Sandy

I still have the issue on Pedigree View after all the suggestions. But - I did
load Legacy 8 with the latest update, on my work laptop. Installed my file and
did the file cleanup as per instructions. Everything works perfectly on the
second laptop.
Went back to my personal laptop and uninstalled Legacy 8, Clooz, and Gensmarts.
Created a clean GEDCOM file from Family Tree Maker 2014. Disconnected my hub,
second monitor. Ran a full C drive scan and ran Malware software. Shut down and
then restarted my laptop and installed Legacy 8, downloaded and installed the
update and imported my new GEDCOM file. And saw the same pedigree view issue
starting in the same place!
Both laptops are Toshiba - personal is C series, work is S series. Both run
Windows 7 Home Premium. Both have the same printer drivers and software. Both
run windows office. In fact both laptops are nearly identical except for my
genealogy programs, iTunes, and Quilt software programs.
I don't know what to do now. I would rather run Legacy on my personal laptop. I
think that you are right in thinking that something on my personal laptop is
conflicting with Legacy 8.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Pedigree Report Problems

I have Legacy 8 and the latest build, 8.0.0.385. When I open the database to
myself, then select the pedigree tab it correctly displays my pedigree in 4
generations. If I click from 4 to 5 generations it correctly displays my
pedigree. Now when I select Reports Menu, then select Pedigree, then select 4
generations per page, then 4 Generations and select preview it shows the
pedigree correctly. Now if I close this and select 5 generations and preview
the names are not shown connected to the right people.

Has anyone seen this? Do I have a setup problem?

thanks,

dale
