Your system crashes during boot with the card inserted, and you get an error message? If you have to run ScanDisk (or if it runs automatically) on the next boot, it's likely a different problem than mine. When my L70 powers down booting with the combo modem in, it automatically wants to boot into Safe Mode on the next boot. After that, Windows boots fine with the modem out, and ScanDisk never finds any errors. I've nailed the problem down to a conflict between the hairy light bulb power saving driver and the modem drivers... but I really don't know where to go from there to try to resolve the problem. Mayy --- 1) Set the SCSI card included with these two CD-RW drives to 16-bit. 2) Here's the only thing you'll need under the L100/L110. http://160.87.24.214/hpm820e2.zip (103KB) Everything needed to get the CD-RW to run under DOS on a Libretto L100/L110. Simply put all files on your HD (okay in root directory or in a folder). Finally, look at the included config.sys and autoexec.bat files and put them into your own config.sys and autoexec.bat files, adjusting paths to the included files as needed. -- 3) Other optional files if you're interested in tweaking them to get other devices to work on other models. http://160.87.24.214/hpm820e1.zip (330KB) Install disk for the HP M820E Ricoh MP8040SE CD-RW drives only. =Does not= include PCMCIA card socket drivers, needed by the Librettos. http://160.87.24.214/cardwizard.zip (15MB!)
