We have no data plan on our cell phones. In fact, our iphones don't
even have cell service, but the gps programs still work. We tried
the one that comes with the iphone, called maps, and it worked just
fine. I'm not sure how accessible it is, as I myself didn't try it,
but if there's another accessible program (I've not tried any yet) I
suspect it would work just as well.

 Glenn,

To the best of my knowledge, it doesn't matter if you're on 3g, 4g,

data is connected… if that be wifi, that is also what it will use.
So yeah, the only exception is if you download an app which makes
you download the maps locally to the phone such as Navigon NOrth
America, which by the way, I swear by!

My understanding is that right now the app is only available to those at the

new audio game the inquisitor.

2013-02-28 Thread Ian McNamara
Hi all please note this game does cost 9.99 however I feel that we should
support developers who are willing to make games for us.

here is the description.

App name: The Inquisitor Audiogame Adventure
Developer: TIconBLU srl
Description:
The Inquisitor Audiogame Adventure
Will of steel, heart of stone, intelligence as sharp as a knife and wisdom deep
as oblivion.
The inquisitor is called to investigate an obscure case, beyond heresy, that
reveals a new face of Evil. He must tackle many arduous tasks. He must make
many painful choices. He must take on terrible creatures. But his burning
determination will overcome the Plague and his worst nightmares.

==
- Dubbing in english, latin and italian
- Original character and story (really a bad guy...)
- Rich 3D audio environments (best in home theatre 5.1)
- From 6 to 8 hours of gameplay
- Beautiful and well-acted dialogues
- More than 21.000 words dubbed for every language!

==
We apologise in advance for having to keep the price so high, but unfortunately
we had to dub loads more text (including that where the lead character
describes the locations he’s in) and having worked really hard to ensure
playability for all, with long, complex testing phases and loads of effort in
all, the production phase was much costlier than expected. But we strongly
believe that many video games can and must be made accessible to the blind and
the sight impaired, and so we decided to take this risk. This is our passion
and our mission, and we feel that this kind of game (i.e. adventure games) is
PERFECT for playing in audiogame mode. So please understand the reason why we
had to set this price, and help us when you can to spread the word about this
adventure, in all senses, that we have embarked on together. Thanks for your
understanding, and thanks again to all those who decide to purchase the game.
We fully intend to continue along this road and produce other games. If we
succeed in selling enough copies to break even we will have the economic
sustainability to continue to produce videogrames that are truly accessible to
all. And not only Medieval or adventure games!

Yours for eternity,

Re: GPS on iPhone without data plan

2013-02-28 Thread Esther
Hi Glenn,

Ariadne GPS needs an active data connection to work, but it doesn't have to be
your cell phone service. For example, I use a personal wi-fi hotspot with 4G
connection service from Clear. With this turned on, I can run GPS apps on an
iPhone 4 that I upgraded from (with no current carrier service), or any iPad
with Wi-Fi+3G, even without an active data plan. This can also supply a
connection for my laptop. When fully charged, the device has a battery
lifetime of up to 6 hours, and can support up to 8 devices.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

We have no data plan on our cell phones. In fact, our iphones don't
even have cell service, but the gps programs still work. We tried
the one that comes with the iphone, called maps, and it worked just
fine. I'm not sure how accessible it is, as I myself didn't try it,
but if there's another accessible program (I've not tried any yet) I
suspect it would work just as well.

2. to sort by date descending do the following.
A. Go to the headers part with vo shift back slash.
B. go to the date column.
C. hit the button and it should say sort down.
D. exit with vo shift back slash.

Good luck.

Searching In VLC

2013-02-28 Thread Harmony Neil
Hellow,
I normally drag and drop a folder or whatever I want to play in VLC. I can get
to the table of tracks in the playlist and get to the search box next to it,
but whenever I try typing in the searchbox, nothing happens. Arrowing down 2
or 3 hundred songs or other such audio files is getting annoying and I know
there is probably a way of searching for the track I want to find much faster.
Does anyone know what I need to do after I type in what I'm looking for in the
search box? Like I say, hitting enter doesn't work, and nor does tab, since
that just tabs round the whole screen.
Thanks.
Harmony.

Hi Kathy,
The purpose of the VIP mailbox is to let you see messages from a specific list
of people you particularly care about, and be specially notified when they send
you a new one. I use it quite often myself for friends and so on.
