Re: [MacGroup] iPad Pro

2019-02-09 Thread tom holloman
That was my first try as I have the extended warranty. Their suggestion was to
erase and restore as a new iPad. Not restore from backup as the problem may be
in a backup.
That seems unlikely to me and very hard to do as I would lose a lot of stuff.
Now, it’s to happen more often.
Guess I’ll chat with them again and hope for a better genius.

Anyone have iPad Pro go to Apple store when hitting message in dock? Will not

should reset to factory settings and not restore from a backup as that might be

What's in the works

The next major release of DiskWarrior will include the ability to rebuild APFS
disks. Apple has recently released the APFS format documentation. Our
developers are now using that documentation to update DiskWarrior to be able to
safely rebuild APFS disks.

2018-12-08 Thread tom holloman
Kinda misleading advertising. Does work somewhat with Mojave but not completely
like previous os. I stay in contact with a tech named mark. They are trying but
claim Apple will not release sufficient info on the New file system. Catch 22

Strange, I got this from mark at alsoft after upgrading. Will check back with
him. Mahalo

The drive has been converted to the new APFS file system. DiskWarrior 5.x does
not repair an APFS formatted drive.

For all publicly available information regarding DiskWarrior 5 and macOS 10.13
(High Sierra), 10.14 (Mojave) as well as the new Apple File System (APFS),

apple hasn’t given them the info on APFS. Got this from a friend.

Alsoft's Disk Warrior still can't rebuild APFS disks. I'm running the latest
version of Sierra. I would have gone up to High Sierra if Disk Warrior ...

I thought getting your IP address was how hackers got your info. I use internet

Anything you do online can be traced back to you – unless you use a VPN. When
you turn on a VPN like F-Secure FREEDOME, you become invisible online.

Websites you surf can’t see your real IP address and won’t know who you are,
and whoever provides your internet connection won’t be able to see and log what
you do online. Try F-Secure FREEDOME 5 days for free!

2018-07-31 Thread tom holloman
Aloha all. Need advice.
Getting a new 27 in imac tomorrow. I have time capsule that has been backing up
the Mac mini.
Am I better off using time capsule to start new machine or just transfer
directly from Mac mini
Also before using time machine with new system should I erase it?

Re: [MacGroup] Keyboard going bad

2018-04-20 Thread tom holloman
So sad how the quality has deteriorated. My iPad Pro and Apple Watch 3 are
doing all kinds of crazy things. So far the iPhone X is performing perfectly.
The new regime has forgotten what made Apple Apple. Tim doesn’t seem to have a
clue about innovation or quality.

tried youtube tv but there is no way to get closed captions on all channels
that its available on. you have to click on each individual program and CC
for that program only. Thought I was doing something wrong so got on live
chat. The chat guy couldnt believe it either and had to check. Came back
and said unfortunately I was right. Hard to believe in this day.

Sandy
It has our local channels and most sports packages.I signed up for for
trial
and thought I was missing something as there was no place to turn on Closed
Captions for all channels that have them.
Got on live chat and found only option is to go to bottom of each one u
want cc on and turn on. have to do this every time u watch the same show
again. Really hard to believe that Google doesnt care about the hearing
impaired in this day and time. Every other service ive tried had option to
leave CC on. Must be easy and inexpensive because most live shows have it.

locals and they have started streaming all their news live. I’m sure the others

Have the same problem. Please post if find solution. Scary the stuff that these
companies can find about u. My wife’s iMessage account has been hacked. After
hours and transfers Apple support gave up and claims they will let us know when
solved. Apple support is not like it used to be. Sad.
