What keyboard are you using? If I don't have QN enabled on my iPad, my ability to navigate the screen using the keyboard is very limited. I have looked at so much, uh, stuff while researching things related to iPadOS and could have missed this. So if I leave QN on, will I also be able to go to the top or bottom within containers like what we see in Settings? One more goodie is pressing and holding Command to get keyboard hints. Nice. What about context menus? A single finger triple tap brings that up? Is there a keyboard shortcut? I am in burn out mode but will recover quickly now that progress is being made. :) From E.T.'s Keyboard... ancient.ali...@icloud.com Many believe that we have been visited in the past. In iOS and iPadOS, go to settings, accessibility, voiceover, Braille, the more info button which follows the name of the braille display when right flicking, braille commands. Here one finds all of the commands, and the ability to change each command. It is customizable by braille display. In other words, the commands can be different for each braille display. I can't remember, and I can't check with my iPad mini as I don't have a keyboard with it. I did a search in google and found this page but it's from Ios 9 by the looks of it and there may well be changes now. Have a look, It's got shortcut keys for everything on the iPad https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/every-ipad-keyboard-shortcut sorry I can't be more helpful. -Original Message- From: 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries Sent: Saturday, 4 January 2020 1:47 PM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: iPad Models Simon, on the iPad, what is the keyboard equivalent of the 4 finger tap to go to top or bottom of the screen? RE: iPad Models
Yeah the gestures changed between the older model standard pads and the iPad Pros. Like what happened with the phones that have face id. But now the newer versions of the standard iPads use the same gesture set as the Pros have. So even with touch id the iPad mini 5 and ipad air (new) have the same gestures as the iPad pros with face id. And I believe all the new phones both with and without face id have again the same gesture set over all but there are some slight differences. Good luck. -Original Message- From: 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries Sent: Saturday, 4 January 2020 12:17 PM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: iPad Models Funny you mention gestures. RE: iPad Models
Mini 5 has pretty much the same chip as the current iPad pro 11 & 12 inch devices. Same with the iPad air 10 inch. All of them now allow for the same gestures such as flick up from the bottm of the screen to the appswitcher, Down one vibration for control panel / two vibrations for notification manager. The only thing the mini lacks is face id which I’ve got no issue with. Re: iPad Models
Simon, I like the mini 4 only because it is the only iPad I have used, except for the mini 3. Just took a quick look at specs and prices. The mini 5 might do well. I'm getring used to the BT keyboard which can connect to up to 3 devices. And there is iCloud Drive so all devices can share. Given the difference in cost between Pro and mini, I can live with the mini. I don't know what chip the mini 4 has but my iPhone 8 has it beat. :) Ok found the chip. Yes the mini 5 will almost match the iPhone 8. Close enough. Thanks Simon. Appreciate the overview. Half breed, probably not too far off an analogy. Just got the mini 4 last year but it may be worth looking ar a newer model which will take iPadOS.
