It is probably an OS update, or an update to Safari.

2024-01-12 Thread Brad Snyder
First of all, now that you have read the notification, dismiss it.
Then check 2 places.
1. Go to the Mac AppStore, and press CMD + NumRow 8, which will take you to
Updates. This is where you can see if there are any app updates for any apps
you may have installed from the AppStore.
2. Go to System Settings > Software Updates, and see if there are any OS or
system related updates pending installation.
You can also go to the Apple menu, in the Menu Bar, where you can also find out
if there are any pending updates by navigating to either System Settings, or
AppStore in the menu.

HTH.

It might be useful with the questions I’ve seen recently on the sorting / /

After orders kicked off last week, Apple's new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR

RE: Software updates on iPhone.

2017-11-23 Thread David Griffith
I have found that turning off automatic update in App and ITunes settings
helps. This at least delays matters.
Despite this my phone did eventually download iOS 11 last week and wanted to
install it.
However I then went into manage my storage in settings. There I ffound the iOS
11 Update and deleted it from there.
Since then I have had no nags to update to iOS 11.

there is a hidden notification to do this for system features.

The only thing I’m aware of allowing this is MDM systems but I don’t think the

Re: Software updates on iPhone.

2017-11-23 Thread John JD Denning
Hi, I don’t get notifications for app updates. I have a setting under
notifications for the App Store to only give me temporary banners. But in there
you could choose to have no notifications at all. So you can’t look at the
settings for the App Store you have to go into notifications and then the
settings for the App Store in there.

I hope that’s what you’re looking for.

Hey Chris. This is what is occuring. When i go to the app store,
Voiceover tels me open window, but wen I move around with VO right

tab,and go back to the app store window, and it shows me everything

it it takes me to the back dmd button. I really don't know why is
doing that! For some reason Last night, I manage to try it for the

last night Voiceover told me that I had seven items available. This
is not my internet connection since I have internet connection.
Voiceover told me now, I have two updates but I can't see them! My

the apps tore four times, but still issues with it. I'm using a
Macbook Air 11 inches. Do you guys ahve any suggestion in how can
I update without any problem? I always have issues updating! I will
try to do the updates again! I tried to do it last night, and in
the app store it show everything DMd and so on. I look forward in

Re: Problems updating to the New Software updates

2016-05-18 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

In this case, I really don't believe that you'll need to go to the Apple Store
nor call Accessibility.

1. Open the App Store either by going under the Apple menu or through the
About this Mac option.
2. Once the App Store is open, if VO just dings when trying to navigate
around, press VO-f2-f2 to bring up the Window Chooser. Arrow down to the App
Store choice and press return.
3. Navigate around the window with VO-right arrow. You should hear Toolbar,
the Close, Minimize and Zoom buttons and either "Mac App Store, HtML Content"
or "Updates, HTML Content". If it announces "Mac App Store, HTML Content",
then press cmd-5 to bring focus to the Updates pane. Otherwise, move on to the
next step.
4. Interact with the HTML Content area.
5. Navigate with VO-right, past the Software Update heading to the "Install
All Available Software" button and press it with VO-space.
6. Depending on what software is waiting to be installed, you may get a
message dialog that says something about some software needing to be downloaded
first before restart. Press the "Download and Restart" button.
7. Wait patiently as this may take a while to download.
8. Once the download is complete, another dialog should appear telling you
that your Mac is going to restart. You can just wait and it will begin the
restart/installation process, or you can press the "Restart" button within that
dialog. In either case, the process will begin. Again, this new
installation/restart process may take quite a while. During this time, you may
or may not have any response from VO. You can press cmd-f5 if you wish, but
depending on the state of the process, you still may not get any VO
announcements.
9. Important! Do not interrupt the installation by forcably shutting down
your Mac. This could render your machine unusable until a total
reinstallation. Just be patient, and let it do its job. It will restart when
done and bring up the Login screen for you. In some situations, there is a
continuation of the set up during the startup process. Again, just be patient.
Try turning on VO to see if you get feedback. If you don't get any, wait a
few more minutes and try turning on VO again.

That should do it.

Later...

Hey Chris. This is what is occuring. When i go to the app store, Voiceover

Re: Problems updating to the New Software updates

2016-05-18 Thread Helga Schreiber
Hey Chris. This is what is occuring. When i go to the app store, Voiceover
tels me open window, but wen I move around with VO right and left arrow, I
can't see anything until I perform the command tab,and go back to the app
store window, and it shows me everything dmd. After waiting for a few minutes,
the updates buttonit is not dmd anymore. So I press Vo space bar on updates,
adn then I stop interacting with the tool bar, so I can go to the updates
link, but it it takes me to the back dmd button. I really don't know why is
doing that! For some reason Last night, I manage to try it for the first time,
and the updates appear, but it did not install them. And last night Voiceover
told me that I had seven items available. This is not my internet connection
since I have internet connection. Voiceover told me now, I have two updates but
I can't see them! My last update to Os10 11.4, I was able to do it, but this
new updates for iTunes, and OS10 11.5, I'm not able to do it at all! Do you have
any idea what could be happening? I look forward in hearing from you soon.
Thanks and God bless!

Re: Problems updating to the New Software updates

2016-05-18 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

After pressing the "Update" button, you may get a message about some things
needing to download first. If that dialog appears, press the "Download and
Restart" button. If that dialog does not appear, then just be patient. It may
take 5 to 10 minutes for the download to complete. Just leave the App Store
open and do whatever. Check back in 10 minutes or so, or when your Mac says
something like "AppStore Needs Attention". If nothing happens after 10 or 15
minutes, then let us know.

Later...
