I wonder if an EMT electrical conduit bender would work, I have 1/2" and
3/4" benders.  Their bender accomplishes the same thing, I bet an EMT
bender would work.  They also have tees and ells so I'm not sure how
much bending might be required but I suppose there could be some.

$166 is kinda spendy if you are just doing your shop

Spray oil instead of paint!

So Rapid Air has a wizard for your specific situation. With my 3.7HP
compressor and a max line length of 75ft, they recommend the ½" MaxLine
tubing.

I remember seeing on one of those cable car shows some years ago the guy
was installing this anodized aluminum pipe with push-on fittings for air
distribution.  The stuff was lightweight and looked pretty easy to set
up.  This plastic stuff looks similar but flexible.  Looks like a great
solution.

Thanks - mine is PVC and 30 to 40 years old now. I'm wondering when it's

Re: [MBZ] Today's activity in the okie shop

2021-06-20 Thread Rick Knoble via Mercedes
I thought about galvanized pipe. If I put pipe that means threading pipe, pipe
dope or tape, hangers, holding ten foot sections of pipe over my head with a
sore shoulder, etc. Screw that. I can buy all the supplies, look at it and get
overwhelmed, or I can buy this maxline crap and put it up and be done. Will it
look perfect? Probably not. Will it be done? Yep. And that's what counts.

Here's a link to the manufacturer page.

Interesting. I may have to get one of these although I could probably have to
buy 2 of them. I already have a bunch of iron pipe with valves etc that I
pulled out of my buddies shop when he was selling his out. This seems like it
would be a lot easier though.

Or you just put a drip leg in with a cap that you can remove occasionally to
drain any moisture. Easier and cheaper.

Do these have a way to drain each station? Typically when you use pipe at each
vertical drop you have your valve for your air connection then below that you
have a drain valve to drain any water that falls in there.

Pex *may* work, but what you want is Pex-Al-Pex which is pex lined with
aluminum somehow.

This kit looks like the best compromise between price and flow. It has a 1/2"
ID, so it should flow well.

After replacing the suspension pump on the GL yesterday, today I messed
with that current draw deal.  No conclusions drawn as it seem to be
behaving at the moment.  I then pulled the 85 300CD out of the shop so I
could get the wrecked 97 E300 out.  This 97 was the car that used to be
my daily driver but wife was driving it and somehow managed to clip the
back corner of a truck while on her phone I am sure.  I have pulled the
fender but the inner fender is bent a little and I would like to try and
pull it back out enough to get replacement fender bolted on.  Anyway,
its been sitting on the shop since 2018 on a HF viking 4 amp auto
charger. It fired right up and AC even still blows ice cold.  I pulled
it out, cleaned up and moved some stuff around then pulled the CD back
in where the E300 was parked.  I then pulled the Duramax in so I could
start replacing the injectors on it next week.  It it still a bit
crowded in front of the truck so I may end up pulling it back out, then
pull the CD out and just pull it it back in the other shop door and park
it over there.  That will give me plenty of room to work in front of the

throwing all the trash away and organizing the rest, get my air lines
