I have had good luck with tools and parts from Taiwan. No vacuum pumps though.

Please keep us informed of your success.

Re: [MBZ] Urgent repair shop needed in central mass

2015-08-08 Thread Dan Penoff via Mercedes
One thing I learned from my dealer parts guy is that the EPC will often show a
part to be NLA when it's really not. He says there is another system they used
called Paragon which is the determining source as to whether or not a part is
still available.

He urged me to always check with him on parts that show as NLA in the EPC
before going elsewhere. More often than not the part has been available.

On a related note, he gave me the MB key reference sheets yesterday when I
ordered some keys for the S420. There's about 6 pages of stuff and it's the
definitive reference for what keys go with which model car along with remote
part numbers and key part numbers.

Not something you often use, but a great resource none the less.

Must be one of the benefits if the brief marriage to Dogde. Dropping
inexpensive repair parts in favor of expensive assemblies. MB used to be
wonderful about carrying repair parts, unlike the US brands.

Dogde picked up a few good habits, but it appears MB picked up a lot of bad
 habits.

So now we have an approved repair facility we can rely on if we're passing
through northern New Jersey?

I tried sending this when you originally posted, but the OkieISP must have been
on the blink. There is a forum on Benzworld listing repair facilities all over
the U.S. By region and city.

 Hi all,
I have a friend off of I-84 just south of the mass pike who broke down in
his 77 300D. Sounds like a vacuum pump failure... Engine runs fine, but
brakes are hard and there are no vacuum functions working.

Anyone have a shop in the area to recommend?

He needs to get back to NJ soon, but repair might be a better option than a

Why not try parts from MomBUSA? Don't they still have a distribution
