[MLO] iOS Next Gen update?

2018-11-28 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
I am a raving fan of your product, and I sincerely hope you have a
re-skin/makeover for the the iOS app. There are some pretty slick apps out
there today that have nowhere near the features you have, however their UX
is far better than the MLO iOS app.

Please don't let the competition catch up, as the workflow on a device is
as important as on a PC.

Thanks.

[MLO] Google Cal Sync Question

2018-11-17 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
I hope someone can answer this as it is a simple question:

Can I push events from one calendar *to* MLO and push tasks *from *MLO to
*another
*calendar?

*Example:*
I have a calendar called "Family Calendar" I want events entered in that
calendar pushed to MLO.

At the same time, tasks that I create in MLO I want pushed to a different
calendar called "Task Calendar"

I've attached a very crass image as an example. Thank you!

[MLO] Re: what exactly is a View Group

2018-11-17 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
Another difference is that a a View Groups cannot be filtered but instead
inherit the last 'active' view in that group when you select it, where as a
View shows its actual filter.

Example:
View Group
  -View 1
  -View 2
  -View 3

In this example, if I select View 2 and the click View Group, the result
set for View 2 will appear. If I select View 3 then View Group, the result
set for View 3 will appear.

This, as opposed with nesting views in to another view

View
  -View 1
  -View 2
  -View 3

Each time I click View, it will display whatever data if filtered in that
view.

I use both. As an example I might simply next other views within a view and
have it like this

Contexts (contains ALL contexts, sorted by context)
 - Office
 - Errands
 - GTD

In this instance I can have a master and then have views below that filter.

[MLO] Re: Competed after Star Toggle Date

2018-11-15 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
Thanks for the response.. So basically I use Stars as 'focus mode'. Meaning
I star the next five things I want to complete. I'll average 9-11 stars per
day.

What I'm wanting to understand is, "Out of the things I committed myself to
focus on, which ones did I end up changing my mind for some reason and
removing the star, and/or which ones did I leave starred and not complete?"

This gives me some additional insight for a scorecard I create, which tells
me if I'm committing to things properly, if my estimates are sound, etc.
It's an exception...so really care how many tasks were starred but not
completed? From there I'll slice the data but I'm having a hard time just
getting that due to the 'time' property. I hope this makes sense. I will
take a look at what you suggested below and let you know if it work.

[MLO] Competed after Star Toggle Date

2018-11-14 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
I am trying to create a view that shows me which tasks were completed AFTER
the date I Starred a task.

This tells me "These are the tasks I finished one or more days after I had
*initially* intended to"

So I created a view that gets me very, very close. The view is as follows:

CompleteDateStartTime NOT ON StarToggleDateTime

Pretty simple, eh? However what's affecting this is the DateTime parameter.
Meaning it's taking TIME in to consideration. So if I Star at task at
9:15am and then complete it at 10:00am that same day, it's still showing up
in the result set.

See below as my example.

[MLO] Re: Set Reminders for Views

2018-11-12 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
As I pondered this more, this would lay the foundation for a potential
dashboard. It would be very cool to create a dashboard feature with the
following requirements:
1. Ability to customize a page to hold a set number of views at a defined
interval.
2. Views can be scheduled to appear in the dashboard based on date/time,
and possibly location.

So when I look at my dashboard in the morning it shows the views I've
created and "scheduled' to appear that morning. I then schedule other views
to appear at different times throughout the day. So basically a dynamic
dashboard. Thanks!

[MLO] Re: Day of Week Property

2018-11-12 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
Thanks for the reply/ Yes, I am aware of grouping options, but in this case
i just want a single view with the exact result set,

So the enhancement request is basically a new filter. "In the Next X
[DayOfWeek]"

Think in terms of "In the next X days" filter currently available. Now just
add a function for each day of the week. Thus you could create a view such
as "Meetings on the next three Mondays"

Thanks

Re: [MLO] Re: Active Tasks in limited time

2018-11-12 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
Arvin,

It's best to just create your own views based on Start Date/Time. The
default Active Actions view does not necessarily take in to account start
TIME. Thus as an example if you want to see things you CAN be doing, and
it's 6:30 am, task "Go to the mall" is not one of them. So at this point
you have to add the time value to time-based tasks and then just filter off
of that.

[MLO] Set Reminders for Views

I think the ability to set reminders for views would be a big win. You
could set up a daily schedule and create views to remind you on what to
check during the day, or a reminder to do your weekly review every Sunday,
etc. The framework is there.

Something like right click on the view and there is a new 'Reminders..
'menu option. From there you can set a schedule for that view.

Please consider adding to your backlog. Thanks!

[MLO] Day of Week Property

2018-11-05 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
So I would love the ability to create a view that says "Show my the chores
I have to do this weekend"

I use chores as a context, but am unable to define a day of a week for the
view.

Ideally I would use
WHERE Context='Chores' AND
WHERE DueDateTime='Saturday' OR
DueDtaeTime='NextSunday'

The attribute for the final where clause is where I need help. Has anyone
come up with a way to do this? I realize there are other properties I could
use that could represent the Next DayOfWeek but I'd really like to keep it
date/day driven.

Ideally the user interface would allow for:
WHERE DueDateTime=Next 'X' of 'Y' (where X=an integer value which includes
subsequent Y) and 'Y' equals the day of week.
So it would be like:
WHERE DueDateTime=Next '1' of ''Saturday' or
DueDateTime=Next '1' of Sunday.
In this example the system would return results for tasks that are on the
next Saturday or Sunday. If I wanted to say "Show me tasks for the next 3
Tuesdays,' I could use the same logic.

Thanks

[MLO] Benefits of Google Calendar Synch

2018-11-04 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
I have worked in software development for going on 20 years, so while I
understand the technology, I don't understand the configuration for the
workflow I want to execute. I use Google Calendar, but I don't really
understand it.

Here is my current state:
1. I have a google calendar I use for my upcoming boxing matches (let this
be "Boxing Calendar". I have a few apps that synch in to it and populate
the Boxing Calendar, some of the entry is manual. Normally via a 3rd party
calendar app I use on my iPhone.
2. Today, I view the Boxing Calendar events via other third party apps,
including an app I wrote (so I consume in to one app, and then export from
that app).
3. I only use this calendar for boxing events, so want all events from this
calendar written to MLO.

Here is my challenge:
1. I also want to publish events I enter on MLO to that same calendar. Is
there a way to say "only send tasks that using this context (or some other

2. When I first set it up, I was having issues with the event synching from
Google to MLO. I think I configured it wrong.

How do I achieve this?

[MLO] Task 'Aging Audit' Filter

2018-03-13 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
So I would like to know which tasks I have been snoozing, and/or manually
moving the start/due date from 'current date'. This will give me actionable
data for when I perform my weekly prioritization review.

I know your dev team likes to create complex queries to keep us hard-cores
happy, and I am happy to assist from a business/functional/technical level.
To that end, if it exists, let me know but I've not figured out how with
current objects.Thanks!

 Hi everyone!

The MyLifeOrganized team is speeding up the process of Android version
beta testing, so we’v added 200+ new members to the beta team!

We’ve chose them from the application forms that huge number of users
sent us. The selection process was quite difficult and time-consuming, but
we had to be sure that new beta testers are matching all our criteria.

All the selected users should already get an invitation email from the
MLO team. If you didn’t get an email but still feel that you have all the
necessary skills to join the beta testing team, please, resend us the
 application form
 .

Don’t forget to mention in the comments field that you’ve sent us the form

The MLO team welcomes all new beta testers. Together we will make

[MLO] Re: Alexa support?

+ 1 on this. I am new to Alexa...so unsure of it's available APIs. However,
if there were a way to integrate it with MLO it would be a game changer.
Specifically, I would like to add reminders as tasks (as with the native

[MLO] Attachments for tasks

2017-10-28 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
I realize this question has been asked, but could the MLO team tell us if
this feature is on your Roadmap. I would love to be able to attach files
(both in the Windows and IOS version) to tasks. I would prefer to have this
feature available for the Windows version first. I realize there are some
rules that need to be implemented around this, but perhaps X Storage space
per plan. i.e. There is a cap on storage space per license type.

Irregardless, I think this is an incredibly useful feature.

Thanks!

[MLO] How to Suggest MLO Features...really?

2017-10-28 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
While I am happy to see there has been some formalization around this
process, I do take issue with the limit of requests a user can make.

Having worked in software application delivery close to 20 years, one of
the keys to success is having an incredibly user-centric roadmap. Capping
the requests users can make seems counter-productive. Almost as if it's a
'privilege; to make requests, when I would think the MLO Product Management
team would be thankful and open to any and *all *requests.

Just my two cents. ;-)

[MLO] Weekend Date filter

2017-08-26 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
Essentially, I would like a running view that is "Weekend Chores". Chores,
of course is a context, but I am unable to find any sort of Date filter
that is dynamic enough so that it is day-based.

I think it would be a strong enhancement to create a new value in the
StartDate and DueDate filters
Operator =IS
Values=Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday. Friday, Saturday, Sunday

This way I can create a view that is within a certain date range and IS
'Sunday' OR 'Sunday'

Or, I can create a view that shows me what I have due on the next three
Mondays and Thursdays etc.

If this is available and I'm missing it please let me know. Thx

[MLO] Re: number of modifications

2017-08-26 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
I have a similar view ('Task Aging') but it's based on Create Date and
Modified Date and Importance. My intent appears similar to yours, I want
to know which stragglers have been around a while, and based on my result
set, I change its importance. I do like the idea of a Modification count.
I'd be surprised, however, if they retain that level of detail in their
historical tables. Pretty cool idea though. +2

[MLO] I'm Finally Home

2017-08-16 Thread Pro Boxing Dad
I am new to this application, and have used many GTD-apps (and variants
thereof) beginning with 'To Do' Palm 1.0. ;-)
I never realized how robust this application is. WOW!! Great job to your
team.

My three most pressing needs are:

1. The ability to inherit contexts within views. i.e. If I create a view
called Errands (WHERE Context Contains '@Errands') and when looking at that
view I add a Task, I would like that task to inherit the @Errand context.

2. Add Task Name/Notes/Content to the iOS conditions. i.e. I can create
views on the desktop based on a string that appears in the task name,
notes, and/or content, and unsure why this is not available in the iOS app.

3. Chrome extension that allows the user to save the URL to the as a task
(Ideally parse the web page title as Task Name and the URL in the Notes
property.

Thanks!
