Partially true. Has been coming since Mick was sacked. Hes sitting pretty
with a team mid table in the Championship tonight. And Steve Brue will has
take his team to the Premier League.

[NSWolves: 8329] Huddersfield Humilation

2013-04-13 Thread mark worrall

  _

From: sydneyw...@hotmail.com
To: wol...@lists.wlv.ac.uk
Subject: [wolves] Huddersfield Humiliation FC
Date: Sun, 14 Apr 2013 11:00:34 +1000

After a 200 mile drive through heavy spray and rain, from Dartmoor, we
decide to get our tickets early and so go straight and queue up at the
ticket office. Instantly the distraught faces of empty handed fans leaving
the office grab our attention, along with the fluro jacketed guy talking to
the front of the queue. Eventually we find out the cause: the entire ticket
office computer system has failed. The ONLY tickets you can get on the day
will be John Ireland Upper for £10 CASH ONLY. Period. What a shambles!!
What happens when JI Upper is full? All other seats that could be sold will
be left empty and paying fans turned away? Well I guess they've worked out
they dont have to worry about that one. Funny how the computers in the
clubshop were all working though? Ker-ching.

So we're sent around to JIU B2 to pay at the turnstiles, and the guy says
'sit anywhere, but if you sit in a season ticket holders seat and they turn
up you'll have to move to another one'. Fark, what a palava.

I have a flick through the program, and theres Moxey raving on with his spin
about what a great deal hes got us with a new 2 year sponsorship with What
House? I would bet, truth be known, the current lot dont want to renew
seeing they'll not be getting advertised in the PL next season and have
dumped us, and we've had to switch to someone with a lower budget. But the
Spin Dr ain't gonna say that now is he?

The upside was that the JI Upper was packed and at least gave it a bit of
atmosphere. First 30 mins we played really well. Inventive, attacking,
chances, 1-0 up, Hunt sprinting everywhere like a crazed hyena, O'Hara
orchestrating and looking like we'd cruise it 3-0 or 4-0.

Then they get one back and we go to pieces and spend the next hour on the
backfoot. I dont think the back 4 are that bad. As per the last 10+ years,
we need a decent midfield. To shield the defence, and create and go forward
through. Until then, we'll stay crap. Buy all the defenders and forwards you
like, no midfield = CRAP team.

Thats about all I care to mention the last hours performance. I looked down
at the little kiddies in front of us with their moms or dads, and felt like
we should be phoning the RSPCC for the lifelong pain that was being thrust
onto them.

Good post match phone in on BBC WM. Yes, the illusive £15m parachute payment
+ the money from Fletcher + Jarvis, thats over £30m that seemingly has all
but disappeared. Sounds familiar doesnt it? LIke the £40m Sir Jack always
went on about putting into the club, which when you added it up seemed like
it was also very quietly taken back from monies received. It's time the
pressure is applied where it counts. Not on the players, they're either
playing to keep us up, or playing to get bought by another club and out of
this hellhole (Hennessey and Sako being out might be the only chance we've
got of holding onto them next season). Not on the manager, we've had so many
it doesnt make any difference. Its Morgan and Moxey. Last time fans finally
started targeting them, Stolbakken was suddenly gone within a couple of
weeks and all the talk swiftly moved to rebuilding, just like with McCarthy,
McGee, Jones and the rest. Funny how £££ is so eagerly handed out to
outgoing managers for non-disclosure contracts so the fans never really find
out what is really going on within the club? Obviously a lot of embarrassing
things to hide. Its OUR club not theirs. They can buy it, or work for it,
but eventually we all know they'll p*ss off for something better one day. We
wont. We were here long before they were, and will be here long after theyre
gone. Its ours.

Anyway, thanks Mr Moxey and Mr Morgan. At least the Balti Pie and Bovril
made up for the 400 mile round trip through lashing spray, rain, ticket
office debacle, and humiliating capitulation on the pitch.

Saw the highlights on tv. No wonder Saunders had used all 3 subs by half
time, including Ikeme for his monumental blunder. Hunt was booed when he
came on (probably by the same crowd who hounded McCarthy out), but made the

Spoke to Dad last night and he said the first half performance was terrible,
the worst of the season so far! He said quite a few people left the ground
at half time. Apparently Hunt played very well second half and had a point
to prove, at the end of the game he was being cheered not booed.

I went to a Tesco café yesterday and ordered a burger. They asked me if I
wanted anything on it, and I said: ‘Yes — a fiver each way.’

Does anyone have a tooth pick? I had a Tesco burger last night and there’s
still a bit between my teeth.

I’ve got some Tesco burgers in the fridge. But . . . THEY’RE OF!

My doctor told me to watch what I eat, so I went out and bought tickets for the
Grand National.

Scientist: ‘Sir, we’ve discovered horse meat in your burgers.’
Tesco boss: ‘Why the long face?’

I won’t eat Tesco burgers. They may be low in fat, but they have a very high
Shergar content.

Tesco are giving treble points on your Club card for all burgers and petrol,
starting today. The deal’s called Only Fuel and Horses.

What do you call a burnt Tesco burger? Black Beauty.

A motorist gets pulled over by a police officer, who asks him to blow into a
breathalyser. The machine beeps.
‘I’m sorry Sir,’ says the officer. ‘You’re over the limit. Can you tell me what
you have had tonight?’
‘Nothing Officer,’ replies the man. ‘Just a burger from Tesco.’
‘That explains it,’ says the policeman. ‘I knew I could smell Red Rum.’

They’ve found horse meat in Tesco burgers? It’s an unbridled disaster.

A Tesco burger walks into a bar. ‘A pint please.’
‘I can’t hear you,’ says the barman.
‘Sorry’ replies the burger. ‘I’m a little bit horse.’

I selected some burgers on the Tesco website. And then clicked ‘Add to cart.’

A woman has been taken to hospital after eating Tesco burgers. Her condition is
said to be stable.

I used to work on the Tesco meat counter, I hated it, it was like flogging a
dead horse.

Last night I ate a Tesco burger, an Iceland burger and an Aldi burger to find
out which had the best taste.
Tesco won by a short head.

I think someone may be sending me death threats. I woke up this morning with a
Tesco burger in my bed.

Have you heard? Now traces of zebra have been found in Tesco barcodes.

I bought an‘award-winning’ Tesco burger. I didn’t realise they meant it had won
the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

I used to work for Tesco, but I was fired. I got an email about a delivery of
horse meat and I marked it as spam.

Horse meat in Tesco burgers? What are the odds on that?

I tried to take some burgers back to Tesco but they said they wouldn’t accept
them. Looks like I’m saddled with them.

Husband: ‘I’m so hungry I could eat a horse.’
Wife: ‘Why don’t you go to Tesco?’

Personally, I think people who don’t like eating horse meat are being a bit
blinkered.

Despite the recent news, Tesco says that their beef burger sales remain stable.

Are you in favour of horse meat in your burgers? Yay or Neigh?

I won’t be switching to Tesco Finest burgers. They’re so expensive that buying
enough for a big family dinner won’t leave you much change from a pony.

I was going to give up fast food for January, but I fell at the final hurdle
and had a Tesco burger.

Unused HMV vouchers are now being accepted at Tesco. Just tell them HMV
means‘Horse Meat Voucher’.

Despite the recent scandal, Tesco insist they use only meat of the highest
quality. A spokesman said: ‘Our meat has to clear several hurdles before it
goes on sale.’

I don’t know why there’s a fuss all of a sudden. There’s been horse meat in
Tesco burgers for donkey’s years.

I like my burgers with a side saddle and neighonnaise.

I hope Tesco were selling those burgers at hoof price.

So there’s horse meat in Tesco’s burgers. Don’t worry, it’s not the mane
ingredient.

Forget the Everyday Value burgers — I only eat those mini-burgers you have as
snacks. You know, the horse d’oeuvres.

I bought some Tesco burgers — I wanted to get venison ones, but they were dead
dear.

Tesco would’ve got away with it if it wasn’t for the DN Neigh test.

prove themselves and so can be easily manipulated and wont demand to spend
much.

That's why we'll never see the likes of Redknapp, O'Neill, etc., at the Mol.
They wouldn't stand for it.

So, with one day left of the transfer window there seems to be very little
in the way of rumours around anyone coming in to strengthen the side. I
wonder what type of connections Dean has with other teams? Perhaps this is
a major downfall with young managers that they haven't been around long
enough to know the market and establish relationships to ensure that they
get first pick of the talent.

It seems we won't let SEB go without a replacement lined up.

Stearman going isn't any great loss.

Ward is generating interest but is the only left back (bought as a striker
by Mick) so we can't let him go.

I fear that we're going to head into the rest of the season with the same
squad, which scares the shit out of me.

What does everyone else think?

RE: [NSWolves] We're still closer to the playoffs than last

2012-12-29 Thread mark worrall
Yeah, my first one in 12 years. How depressing. It should have been 1-1 at
half time. They had about 4 attacks the whole match, and scored from 3 of
them. The problem is the defence, its just aint good enough. People in the
South Bank around us were saying we played better under McCarthy. Lol. How
ironic.

On the BBC WM radio post phone in, someone was saying they've restructured
the entire club, from staff, right down to how the academy team plays, to
play Stales way. What if he gets sacked? It will be a monumental blunder.

At least the Balti pie and Bovril were worth going for.

My first game back at the Molineux in 8 years! Very excited as my son and
myself could join my Dad and hopefully snag a Christmas win. Dad had warned
me that we had been dreadful all year and not to expect much. I remained
confident however, the footballing gods would surely look favourably on an
Antipodean pilgrimage! How wrong I was, we were woeful! I have not seen a
more abject performance devoid of ideas and passion from the Wolves in many
year! Going again on Saturday to watch the return of MM, fearing the worst
but hoping Wolves can turn it around.
The packed South Bank were singing "your not fit to wear the shirt" second
half, very sad times indeed!
In summary we have no plan at all and for the life of me I cannot see what
Solbakken is trying to achieve.
Fingers crossed for Saturday, OODCL!

whole match sat in the dugout and didn't say a word, which is very unusual

be good for him. 13 years is a long time in any role.

Also, only a couple of SS's signing's played yesterday.

It was mainly the old guard of MM's days. We have the new centre half, new
winger and new centre forward all to return from injury / minor niggles for
the next game.

I think we will come good towards the end of this year / early next, just
need to be patient. The second half against Northampton was encouraging in
terms of the style of play!

Yaeh, looking good. Just need a Stearman replacement and an iron midfielder,
and then these new players all to jell. I can still remember Man Ure being
promoted from the old Div 2 with a completely new youthful team (Pearson,
Coppell, Macari, etc) and look where they are now.

Was interesting to see a team bring on a player who looked like he could
push Elokobi around.

Hi Paul,

No idea, whichever customer service rep answered that day. I was on the
month to month plan (about $16pm - you can sign up via their website) for
Euro2012. When I rang to cancel it, they offered to reduce it to $6pm if I
didnt cancel. I cancelled anyway, not knowing they had the Championship for
this season.

Every time I rang up last week to try and get it again for $6pm their
computers were down and couldnt access my account records, so by Sat I just
signed anyway up at $16 month to month again. So I might ring up in a while
and ask to cancel again soon to see if they offer me it at $6pm again.

I know a few people who threatened to cancel and so are now only paying $6m,
but even at $16pm, its not a bad price. You only need it till next May
though, as this time next year we'll be back in the Premier League.

After suffering watching Italy all through the 80s (and part of the 90s) in
World Cups and Euros, play negatively with a packed defence and scoring a
single goal on the break to win matches, and World Cups, it was too
tempting to hopefully watch Woys boys give them a dose of their own

Lets hope TC has the brains to blood the kids in the last few games. I dont
give a sh*t about playing our best team to be fair to other clubs. We
should be planning for next season starting today.

And hopefully that starts with getting rid of Stearman, Berra and Edwards,
none of which seem to have basic ball control, never mind EPL level.

Wasnt it lovely to see SM with a smile on his face, as the South Bank was
singing we're 'on our way to Barnsley' ? Maybe he thought they meant it ?
And completely missed the sarcasm of it ?

The humiliating way they announced 'its no job for a novice', then
appointed a novice, and then justified it, sums the running of the club up.
They are all over the place, kneejerk, do U-turns, and must genuinely think
whatever they say we will blindly swallow and believe. Moxeys just a
spindoctor.

Saw an interview with Moxey on weekend and he was saying that the players
at the club are worth 10 times what they were when MM arrived thanks to MM.

And there wont be any tell all from MM. He was back at the club a couple of
weeks ago to sign his confidentiality contract in return for £1m. SM learnt
something from SJH.

We'll never know now for sure if MM would have saved us. Thats another of
SMs mistakes. Should have left MM in charge till the end of the season, so
we'd know, and then those who wanted him out could at least say he got us
relegated. SM has nicely left it so we can say he *could* have saved us,
and done better than TC. And MM is sitting there doing interviews now
saying we were only just on the fringe of the relegation zone when he was
sacked.

(Of course SM should have sacked him before the Jan transfer window, or at
least had a replacement lined up.)

You're quite right about it being a resort. At times it looked like some of
our lot were on holiday.

The only difference I can see with TC is that the players arent fighting as
hard, or for as long, as they seemed to under MM.

TC loans Hammil out and insists on bringing Kightley on who just gives the
ball away nearly every time he gets it. Should be the other way around.

Im hearing Guodie is being raved about at Notts Forest as their best
player, and they want to buy him. whyTF hasnt he been recalled ?

Its starting to look like Stearman is TCs love child, not MMs. Craddock or
Johnson would be a better partner for Bassong at the back.

And yeah, we were always going to get stuffed by ManUre. Im getting a bit
over these wild rally calls from the players every week before the match.

Still believe we wont go down though.

I get the feeling TC isnt the sort who would bail so quickly. This is his
big once in a lifetime break, and he seems the loyal type.

But its is a big wake up call for Morgan, who hasnt had any flak yet, and
probably had no idea how p**ed off a lot of fans are. He wasnt around to

Shouldnt have sacked Mick. At least he got the team fired up. Last 2 matches
they just look like they're coasting for 90mins.

no fight, no desire, no creativity. I can't see us escaping after yet
another capitulation. If we can't get ourselves worked up for a relegation
6-pointer at home then we've got no hope.

I like the look of David Davis though. I wonder if we can keep hold of him
when we get relegated.

Better to lose 5-0 and force TC to make substantial changes, than 1-0 and

There was one major positive from this mornings game:

>From the kick-off we didn't pass it straight back to Hennessey, instead it
only went to Ward at left back. So quite clearly we are making progress
under Connor.

The rest was pretty ordinary:
Shots on target 12 - 1 to Fulham
60% possession to Fulham

I can't really think of any other positives. Anyone?

Oh come on it's not that bad. Five minutes from going bust or near the
bottom of the Premier league with a young talented side. Worlds apart.

I'm quite happy about this now. We saw at training in Perth that he's good
with the players and there really isn't much for him to do except choose 451
or 442 and who plays in the few positions where we actually have options. I
was more fearful that someone would come in and be a source of resentment
amongst the players who were still loyal to Mick.

I'd like to see us bring in a heavyweight director of football in at close
season and maybe TC can stay as manager

woohoo. Come on MM. Bout time we had some luck go our way. Bassong is rock
solid and you dont have to worry about him slipping over or miskicking like
Stearman and Berra. Should have loaned out Edwards and kept Goudie. Out of
the relegation zone.

They wont get rid of him now its been publicly stated they'll stick with
him till the end of the season regardless. Unless, of course, Mr Morgan
starts to feel some direct heat.

Based on our general ball control in that match, we'll go down. It was like
a Sunday league pub team who had been on the p*ss the night before at times.

Wouldnt like to have been Jonsson in the dressing room afterwards. How the
hell he let Carroll get in to score was amateurish.

Cant believe we loaned Goudie out. Would have loved to see Goudie, O'Hara

Yeah he knew. If you watch carefully, he quickly whipped his arm out to

Its fairly common with a new manager. You can practically guarantee they
will win the first match after he arrives, even with no other changes.
Players put in the extra effort to impress him. Out of favour players put
in the extra effort to get in favour. Everyone gets a boost from a new
face with new ideas, etc. For a while. Proof will be after 3-4 months
seeing whether it lasts long term. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesnt.
Look at Keane and even Coyle (compared to his arrival last season).

Well, there is. Remember Sheff Utd suing WHU over Tevez ? That brought
out publicly how much money the clubs consider is the real cost of
relegation.

Article also implies the people who control the refereeing are a faceless
lot, hiding away in offices wearing suites, stuck in the 60s or 70s, and
indecisive about policing themselves. Same as the FA. (arent they one and

Compared to Songs double hacking down which should have been red, Milijas
was comparatively a yellow. Could just image Wengers bleeting on if that
happened the other way around.

Got to hand it to Mick, twas only a handful of christmases ago the biggest
problem everyone went on about was the lack of fighting spirit and
commitment. What a transformation we've seen over the last 2.5 seasons to be
generally regarded as one of the hardest fighting teams in the PL and take
points of the big girls.

Great result. Didn't have much possession which was expected, although 73%
for arsenal is a bit too lopsided. Arsenal are a dirty cheating team who
dived at every opportunity. There is no way Milijas should have been sent
off for that fair tackle.

Hennessy has the biggest kick in the league and played well.
Not too many teams will take points from the emirates.

Good mornings work and I hope Zubar's injury isn't too bad.

Another one of those players who have been on the bench all season, and are

Yeah, its generally called 'Climate Change' now, because the scientists and
statiticians who were previously calling it 'Global Warming' couldnt
explain why temperatures have been going down in recent years, and so
rather than reconsider their own belief system, changed its name instead.

Passing is atrocious. Henry needs to stop the 50 yard speculative passes
that go straight to Stoke players. Even the short easy passes are going to
their players.

Stoke are the dirtiest team in the league. Nasty tackles, elbows, shoving,
etc even makes Berra look ok. I hope McCarthy calls them for who they really
are. And the tactics won them the match in the 2nd half.

I think Mick will quite like to take 3 points off the now again managerless
club that sacked him, and move above them in the PL at the same time.

So true Paul. You can't guage anything about anyone by the way they present
publically, or know what is really going on in someones head, what issues
they are going through, what is worrying them, what situation they are in,
etc.

Never judge a book by its cover.

Mick did seem remarkably positive about the performance and convinced we
should have got something from the game. I would disagree with him on both
counts. We didn't create anything, although (as always) looked more
threatening when Fletcher came on. I was surprised at how ineffective
Milijas was - its not even like the ball was never going through the middle.

Rita just feels sorry for me I think Rog. She's watched Everton through some
pretty dire periods so can relate to my current pain.

Just google Bilderberg Group. They're referring to families such as Astor,
DuPont, Rockefeller, Rothschild, etc.

Just look at who attends the Bilderberg Group meetings, ...Heads of State,
major current and FUTURE political leaders, worlds leading financiers, etc.
They meet in secret and never reveal what was discussed. Everyone should be
very very concerned.

Interesting article the other day saying that Gadaffi was by far the world's
richest man, worth $200bn after hoarding all of that oil money for forty
years.

There was a comment that intrigued me. Someone said that Gadaffi was a
small player and that there are people/families out there each controlling
multi-trillion dollar wealth. It's not the ones like the Queen or the
Rockerfellers, but people that aren't even known.

I scoff at conspiracy theories but I found it interesting.

Banks have increased the discount on the SVR. I got an extra 0.15% off just

RE: [NSWolves] Milijas?

2011-10-29 Thread mark worrall
MM wont sub Henry again, and give the fans another chance to boo him again.

How many times did Berra and Johnson go all the way up for a corner or free
kick, only for it to be wasted and never get anywhere near them, and then
they have to run all the way back for nothing.

If Haneman was still around he'd probably be playing next week.

Strange substitutions! Will Henry ever be subbed? Has he ever been subbed?
Guediora was playing okay, certainly better and with more goal threat than
Henry. MM out! Lose to Wigan next week and he's gone!

good to hear MM at the end saying he has some selection choices to make for
Sat now.

Doherty and Elokobi were better than Stearman, and Craddock better than
Berra. Goudy and Milijas played well as well, even Vokes for a while.

Despite the scoreline we are playing quite well. Seems to be more creativity
with this line-up than we've seen for a while.

Yes Richard, thats right, theres no way out. Supporting Wolves is a life
long suffering there is no escape from. You can change your room, but you
can't checkout.

You can run, but you can't hide. You think you're free, but sooner or later
you'll walk around the corner and see another loser in a Old Gold and Black
shirt, and you'll start wondering again... I wonder where they are in the
league now? (should be IF they are still in the league) They must be doing
better by now ? (no, they wont be) I wonder if they've found another Steve
Bull ? (no, theres more chance of him making a comeback) Have they still got
that Mick McCarthy as manager ? (yes, they probably will) Have they bought
any decent players yet (no, they wont have)

We must all be paying a penance for a high price for being horrible people
in previous incarnations. But we have probably chosen to be Wolves fans as I
hear the more suffering you choose in each life, the greater growth you can
achieve. So when we get to the pearly gates, we'll all be in for a BIG
heavenly payout that will make 500 virgins seem like childs play.

I'm sure Steve will take you off the list. But what will you tell God when
he meets you and he asks why you walked out on your chosen suffering ? Out
of Darkness remember... ;-)

1. Why play with 2 wingers when we dont have a forward who is any good in
the air playing ?

2. Why play with 2 wingers who only get about 1 in 4 crosses into a
dangerous area, and nearly all of those the opposition get to first.

3. We'd be better off with any 2 from Foley, Elokobi, Craddock or Zubar
rather than Berra and Stearman.

And worst of all for me, was MM coming out in the E&S last week and stating
Henry is the 1st player he picks every week. I assume he's just trying to
rebuild his confidence, as Henessey must be the 1st player he picks every
week. What did Henry do during the match? Everytime he gets the ball, he
just wants to get rid of asap.

Fast losing confidence in MM now.

I can't understand spending £40m redeveloping the ground and only adding
around an extra 8,000 seats ??

The 4th phase, which would add another 14,000 seats, isn't included in the
£40m.
