[onap-discuss] [SDC] SDC Docker setup on linux machine

2018-03-27 Thread Murali p
Dear Michael/All,

I am trying to set up standalone set up of SDC on a Linux machine for
development purpose.
I had successfully done this during Amsterdam release following the below link.

https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Deploying+SDC+on+a+Linux+VM+for+Development

But now the same procedure does not seem to work. It stops/hangs at Cassandra
initialization.
Anybody can help on this?

Hi Murali
Just to clarify, when you mention a test framework you refer to the 'test
service' project and not to 'market place' correct?

Hi,

Regarding Test Service.

Test Service only provides frameworks to execute Tests and provide result in
unified way.
Currently robot framework automatically generates the XML test result and the
result is converted into REST response
to the caller of the test service.

Storage and display need to be handled by the user of the framework. Currently
Test Service
is in very primitive phase and has not been integrated to ONAP yet.

All your suggestions are welcome and will be considered sincerely.

Murali

Hi,
I notice that the tests results service is getting the results from the zips
files the verification tests generate.
It looks to me that this is a limiting way for storing/managing the results.
It can limit future development such a versioning, support of more than one
basic test package, searches on the results etc. and it is not manageable as
using DB.
I thinks test results should reported/store in DB as part of the tests
verification possess and not relay on retrieving the results from zip files.
It may be need considered what to store:

  1. Only the reports of the test cases status.
  2. Store same of the logs or the full zip in the database.

Thanks
Isaac Glick

Hi,
I was looking on the marketplace project and I have same suggestions for
issues I notice.

  1. The package table definition is missing a PK (on the csarid).
  2. I thinks the package name should have unique constrained.
  3. Currently the name of the package is taken from the upload zip name. I
thinks It should take as an input from the user then uploading the as CASR and
I mention before it should be unique so the business code should return an
error in case it is not unique .

I will glad to hear your opinions and help with the implantation.

We can list all such improvements of VNFSDK under "Enhancements" for

all together as part of Beijing Release.

Can you please list them here ? So that we do not lose them in mail chain.

Hi
I noticed that we don't use transactions in marketplace portal.
I would like to develop and add it to the project.
I plan to introduce spring and leverage the tools it provides.
This will also be beneficial in the future when we add security to the portal
What do you think?

Re: [onap-discuss] [vnfsdk] - Docker packaging issues

2017-10-31 Thread Murali p
Moshe Hoadley,

Currently we use docker-compose to bring up both vnfmarket(FE-BE) dockers and
PostGres DB docker.

The postgres-docker IP Address is passed to vnfmarket(FE-BE) docker
dynamically(docker-compose) and before the docker is run, the JDBC string is
changed to the postgres -docker IP address using docker-entry scripts.

The database connection, UI and backend works fine. Please let me know if you
find any issues or have any suggestions.

FYI .. vnfmarket (refrepo) docker contains both front-end and backend.

Hi
In addition, I found that the portal docker doesn't have access to the db
docker.
After investigation I found that portal uses '172.0.0.1' in the db connection
string - the db docker has a different IP even though they run on the same host.

The solution is to use a host name like 'marketdb' in the connection string and
deploy the db container with the same name. docker will use its internal DNS to
resolve the db docker ip.

With your permission I would like to go ahead and commit this fix.

Jimmy/Arul,

We had a session of usage of AAI-UI. Do you have the recording of the meeting?
Can you please share the link?
Can you please post some learning material about AAI-UI?

Doubts:

1. Whether the AAI-UI is generic? We can use this to view the Titan graph
inside SDC also ?

2. Are there any generic tools to view the Titan database graphs?

It is outside opencompui folder (inside sdc folder)

After that, next step is to goto openecomp-ui folder

Subject: Error - to start OpenecompUI

Hi Murali,

For Openecomp-ui env set up, i have installed gulp as mentioned in README.md
file.

Then as per next step need dox-sequence-diagram-ui

Steps : (README.md) :
## Setup

# Install `nodejs`:
download nodejs from here: https://nodejs.org/en/ (take the "current" version
with latest features) & install it.
# Install `gulp`

install gulp by running the following command `npm install --global gulp-cli`

# Install DOX-UI
* pull for latest changes
* go to folder `dox-sequence-diagram-ui`
* run `npm install`
* wait for it...
* go to folder `openecomp-ui`
* run `npm install`
* create a copy of `devConfig.defaults.json` file and name it `devConfig.json`
(we already configured git to ignore it so it will not be pushed)
in that file.

populate the fields of the IP addresses of your BE machine you'd like to
connect (**pay attention, it is a JSON file**)

-

Without that not able to proceed.

D:\Lema\Openecomp\openecomp-ui>npm install
npm ERR! addLocal Could not install D:\Lema\Openecomp\dox-sequence-diagram-ui
npm ERR! path D:\Lema\Openecomp\dox-sequence-diagram-ui

npm ERR! syscall open
npm ERR! enoent ENOENT: no such file or directory, open
'D:\Lema\Openecomp\dox-sequence-diagram-ui'
npm ERR! enoent This is most likely not a problem with npm itself
npm ERR! enoent and is related to npm not being able to find a file.

Any idea about this dox-sequence-diagram-ui ?

Thanks,
Lema

Ran,

Robot framework is keyword based open-source automation framework.
You can find lot of information on the internet. (http://robotframework.org/)

Robot Framework is not advised for vigorous Stress Test.

Hello All,
I've a few questions regarding robotframework, hope you can help:

1.Can I perform load/stress(NFT) tests using robotframework, if yes how?
And where can I find documentation?

2.Do we have an architecture of robotframework documentation or someone can
explain ?

Re: [onap-discuss] [aai] A local dev setup guide

2017-07-27 Thread Murali p
Jimmy,

Thanks for sharing and your effort.

I am able to setup successfully.

Few suggestions:

1) Step 5.h, 5.i can be run only after Step 6 (after compiling the code)

2) It would be great if we can have a small video for Step 10.

Subject: [onap-discuss] [aai] A local dev setup guide

Hi, All,

As agreed during the VF-C/A session of the Virtual Developer's Event, I have
a local dev setup guide page posted under the A page on the wiki, complete
with Postman example scripts for exercising the resources and aai-traverals
microservices:

https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=10782088

I welcome feedback and hope that at least our A devs are able to try this
out locally.

I am in the process of creating a tutorial which illustrates modifying the
schema, adding a new node type and adding attributes to existing types - look
for that tomorrow.

Thanks,
jimmy

[onap-discuss] [ONAP-SDC-Portal] Installation using dockers - Portal/SDC

2017-04-26 Thread Murali p
Hi All,

We are trying to install Portal, SDC on stand-alone VMs using dockers available
on the nexus (1.0-STAGING-latest) for development and debugging purpose.
Is there any detailed process to install individual ECOMP components using
dockers for each ECOMP components?

Portal:
We have configured nexus (username, password, version @/opt/config) and run the
init files (copied from demo/boot folder.)
But the ecompdb_portal has exited (unable to start.)
