RE: appending files with mp3 direct cut

2017-09-03 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Georges,

After you open the file:

1. press the letter b.

2. Press the spacebar and listen until you hear the start of what you want to
keep.

3. press the letter n then spacebar.

4. Press the number 3 ten times or so, to move back through the file.

5. Press f8 to hear where the start would be if you press delete.

6. Press 3 if you need to move back further or 4 if you would like to remove
more. Press f8 to check.

7. Once you are happy with the starting position, press delete, then save your
changes by pressing ctrl+w.

Hi Ray,

The way I do it is:

1. Open the file you wish to append.

2. Select all and copy it to the clipboard with ctrl+a followed by ctrl+c.

3. Open the file you wish to append to. If you get a warning about the first
file, select no you don't want to save it.

4. Move to the end of the file by pressing the end key.

5. Press ctrl+v to paste from the clipboard.

6. You should be positioned where the append takes place, so you can use your
arrow keys to move back a little then press the spacebar to play across the
join.

7. If you need to cut a bit to make it a clean append, you can use the b and n
keys to mark the section you want to delete. Use the numbers 1 and to to adjust
the starting point back or forward and the 3 and 4 keys to adjust the end.
Press f9 to hear what it sounds like across the join.

I've been a happy SoundForge user since 2002.

Recently I had a partial system crash and had to reconfigure and
reinstall the program.

Everything is working fine but for one small but annoying problem. How
do I get rid of the files with the SFK extension that are saved with the
conclusion of every project? They are saved along with my final mixes.
I know there was a way to do this but since it literally has been a few
years since I had to reinstall Sound Forge I have forgotten how. I've
looked through the menus and it isn't obvious. It is one of those (set
it and forget it) functions. I set it and forgot it a few years ago.

Can someone on the list fill me in on how to do this??

Deleting those SFK files gets old real fast.

RE: Headphone Splitter

2016-07-18 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Peter,

Perhaps I don't quite understand what you are trying to achieve, but I can
listen with headphones to both my screen reader and the sound I wish to
output from my mixer by simply sending the screen reader to one of the
inputs on the mixer and leaving that channel on cue. That is how I do my
internet show each week and I don't need a splitter to stop the screen
reader from being heard by listeners. I can hear both the music and the
screen reader, but listeners can only hear the music. I can adjust the
screen reader volume relative to the output volume as required.

RE: winamp playlist help

2016-05-09 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Hank,

There are two things you can do.

1. Configure Winamp to place Enqueue & Play in Winamp in the file menu of
Windows Explorer to add a selected file after the currently playing file. To
do this, open the Winamp preferences and in the Windows Shell File
Association Options, select Add 'Enqueue & Play' to Winamp's associated file
types, and Insert enqueued files after the currently playing file. There is
a situation where Windows prevents this item appearing in Windows Explorer
in favour of Windows Media Player. There is a way around this which I can
describe later if necessary.

2. Probably the easiest way of achieving what you want is to let Winamp add
the song to the end of the list then do the following. Move to the song you
want your newly added song to appear after then press j and search for the
newly added song. Once you have found it, tab to an option for Move after
current.

RE: Logitech Compact USB Speakers

It should be noted that whilst the Logitech Z120 is powered from the USB port,
the sound is via a lead from the computer's output jack. For those who would
prefer to have their music coming from the external speakers while having their

you might want to look at the Logitech S150.

RE: CD/DVD burner recommendations wanted

2016-01-01 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Dean,

Using CD Burner XP, I can successfully create CD's, but when I try to copy a
CD, it takes for ever. For example it took over 12 minutes to extract 8%
before I killed it. Can you suggest what I might be doing wrong.

Thanks,

CD Burner XP will do all of this. The only thing that I am not sure of is
the gap of five seconds between tracks. You can adjust it but I don't know
how high. It is free and can be downloaded at:

www.ninite.com

Even though XP is in the name it willl work with later versions of Windows.

RE: The new version of winamp

2015-12-23 Thread Barry Chapman
Well whether Winamp is the best or not is a matter of opinion, but I can say
that I don't know of any other player which has all of the features that I use
on a regular basis. Just a few that come to mind are:

1. Ability to play, pause, stop go back a track and go forward a track with one
finger of my left hand. This is important to me when I use Winamp to stream and
need to use my right hand to control my mixer.

2. The ability to move forward and back in five second increments with one
finger.

3. An option to stop playing after the current track in a playlist.

4. The ability to locate a track in Windows explorer and add it to the Winamp
playlist, either after the currently playing track or at the end of the
playlist.

5. The ability to search for a track in a playlist and move it to after the
currently playing track.

6. The ability to delete tracks from a playlist.

7. The ability to save a modified playlist.

8. The ability to cross fade tracks with a configurable plugin.

9. The ability to equalise the volume of all playing tracks with a configurable
plugin.

10. The ability to have title information show up in Edcast when streaming.

11. The ability to find the length of a track in time as well as being able to
find out the elapsed time and time remaining of a currently playing track.

12. The ability to select a sound card other than the default for the output.

13. The ability to edit and modify ID3 tags in MP3 files.

14. The ability to review tracks in a playlist by arrowing up and down.

15. The ability to search a playlist for tracks containing key words.

16. The ability to press enter on a track in Windows Explorer and have it start
playing without the focus moving from Windows Explorer.

17. The ability to set a placemarker in a file when using JAWS.

18. The ability to set bookmarks for streams.

19. The ability to play a wide range of audio formats.

20. The ability to jump to a specific time in a track.

21. The ability to play the last few seconds of a track (possibly a JAWS
feature).

22. The ability to easily get information about streams and tracks, such as the
bit rate.

I'm sure there are other features that don't come to mind immediately. If Dane
or anyone else can tell me of another free or low cost player which they know
will doo all of the above as well or better than Winamp, I would be willing to
give it a try.

RE: The new version of winamp

2015-12-23 Thread Barry Chapman
Dane,

I am not suggesting that Winamp is perfect. I have had crashes with it and
there is an issue for me using JAWS in having it not properly gaining focus
until I do a JAWS screen refresh. I have, however, looked at VLC, Windows Media
Player and other players, and none of the others appear to give me the option
to do all of what I can do with Winamp.

If VLC and Windows Media Player meet your needs, well that is fine, but there
are others like me who have found from experience that Winamp has much more
flexibility. If you deny this, I can only say that you need to think again.

I won’t say that VLC has more nor less but it does have many of the features

I’ve never claimed that VLC or Windows Media Player etc are the best and I will
never ever claim that but I will say that both are good players, both have good
and bad points and Winamp, VLC Windows Media Player or anything else for that
matter isn’t the be-and-all of media players.

Dean,

I have a load of programs from BBC Radio services, I can point you to a
program broadcast Saturday, on the BBC local services in the East of
england, called Burney keith's rock'n'roll, where he mainly plays music from
the fifties and sixties. However, I suspect a good deal of rock music from
this era is going to be American as we did not really have a great many
exponents in those days until the mid sixties, of course, with the advent of
the Mersey Sound Etc.

Have a look at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/programmes/schedules/2015/08/08, /15, /22, /29
and /09/05 but you'll have to get the first one soon as it will disappear by
20:00 UK time tomorrow.

also, take a look, over the same period at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/programmes/schedules/2015/mm/dd this clashes with
Burney Keith as both programs are on from 18:00-20:00 and, maybe, for modern
material, take a look at the program after, called BBC Introducing, not 60's
and 50's but some very good modern material there.

So far as I am aware, no podcasts available for any of these, I suggest use
totalRecorder or some equivalent, then you can skip unwanted items.

Hi Paul,

My issue wasn't quite the same as yours, but I did have an issue where
Windows Mediaplayer was appearing when I wanted Winamp. I found the
following steps on the internet. Try them and see if they help. They did fix
my problem.

1. Click on Start and click on Default Programs (optionally enter default
programs into the search field)
2. This is where you can set many of the default programs in Windows 7, file
associations, autoplay settings and much more.
3. Click on Set program access and computer defaults:

Choose Windows 7 Default Programs

4. Click on the option Custom
5. Scroll down until you find the entry Choose a default media player
6. Uncheck the options Enable access to this program for Windows Media
Center and Windows Media Player

Hi Barry. Thanks for your thoughts.

I have my master mic volume on my mixer quite low in order to reduce
room hiss/ambience, so that means my mic and display end up quite
close together. I've briefly tried putting material underneath the
display but this didn't seem to work (possibly because the noise is
coming from the cursor and other elements on top of the display rather
than underneath it).

What, if any, sort of barriers would you be thinking of placing
between the display and mic? The pop shield for the mic currently
sits roughly over the display with the mic placed behind it. I used
to have the mic positioned to the side of me rather than in front of
me, but this inhibited my breathing as I had to lean over myself to
get close to the mic, and as I'm narrating books I naturally need to
be able to take deep breaths.

Thanks for any suggestions.

its strong capacity to pick things up when presenting radio shows or
recording documentaries out in the field, I haven't looked at different
types of mic. Now that I'm working on audio narration the Braille display
and mouth clicks are more prevalent ... do you have any specific suggestions
 please?

 Thanks, Danny

sensitive and have a different pickup pattern. For example, a dynamic
microphone with a cardioid pattern might help in this situation.

Do you feel that SF is better than GW or are they pretty comparable?
Anybody else's thoughts on this would also be appreciated. Of course
buying SF would be a considerable outlay, but it is in the cause of
professional work, so I guess it depends whether there's a
significant advantage to it or not.

Also, as previously mentioned, I currently record my audio via the
Sam broadcasting encoders and simply edit in GoldWave. Is this
advisable or would it be better to simply do everything in an audio
 editing package?

Hi Jamie. Thanks for your message.

I'm using a Shure SM58, which I understand to be one of the most
commonly-used all-purpose vocal mics. I plug my mic into a mixer
rather than using a USB mic ... do you have any better suggestions?
I do use a pop shield, so I don't have issues with plosives, but the
Braille display and mouth noises seem more evident than I expected.

Also, I wasn't aware that there were Jaws scripts for Sound Forge.
I used SF before I started with GoldWave many years ago and,
generally, I think GoldWave works just as well. However, if you can
please advise on how to obtain the scripts for SF it might be worth

Try this.
Press enter on Library control on main user interface.
Prress alt+l to open the library menu.
Choose start recording from library menu list.
Also go to the folder on your hard drive where the recordings are stored to
see if anything is there instead of looking at the RMC5 listview where you
view the recordings.

Re: Stereo AM

This is true. However, AM stereo never really took off in Australia, other than
for car radios, although a number of stations either
did or still do use it. I don't actually own an AM stereo receiver.

These days in Australia, most of the music stations are on FM while the AM band
is mainly for talk stations. In the capital cities
where digital radio exists, all the major AM and FM stations simulcast in
digital stereo, along with other digital only stations.

Maybe the Melbourne station used SeQuam like the system that was adopted in
the states. Stereo separation was pretty decent and most of the big gun
radio stations in Pittsburgh broadcast in stereo 24 7. by the late 90's
stereo AM went buy the wayside like HD AM is pretty much done around here
now. If KDKA can't make a go or looses interest in the newest form of
 transmission, the others follow suit.

I think I know the Sony Walkman Stereo AM Walkman you're referring to, its
easily identifiable by the very large band switch on the face of the radio,
I used to call that Walkman the Biscuit Radio as the band switch reminded
me of a chocolate biscuit/cookie smile.

The radio was okay though I thought the smaller Sangean Pocket model had the
edge, far better sensitivity to start with though - knowing Sangean as I
do - that's not at all surprising.

I have a couple of Sony AM Stereo tuners though they had to be adjusted to
get decent clarity out of them, they also exhibited an annoying trait, you
could hear the 25HZ tone which tells the tuner that the signal is an AM
 Stereo signal.

The other capable Stereo AM tuner I have here is one that I had built for me
from the information supplied in the electronics magazine Silicon Chip back
 in 1987.

What I like about Stereo AM is that it can be broadcast at any time and - if
its done properly - the average consumer will not notice any interference or
odd sound from their standard Mono AM radio, some of the AM Stereo signals I
used to listen to did exhibit slight bass distortion on a Mono set but these
signals usually sounded pretty poor when listening on an AM Stereo tuner.

The Melbourne radio station 3UZ had by far the best Stereo AM sound I've
ever heard - along with Canberra's 2CA -, I don't know what they were using
on their transmitter but even the mono signal sounded clean and crisp.

I had a Carver TX11 tuner that received AM stereo and also a Sony pocket

quieter and better sounding, but one has to have such a
perfect signal that I find it pretty annoying. In addition, stations that
use HD on AM have to restrict their analog audio bandwidth. I actually
prefer a noisier but more reliable AM stereo system as was used here
in the US in the 1980's. Even more, that system did not interfere with
adjacent stations as does the HD system does now.

Re: WinAmp / Windows Media.

2014-03-22 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Colin,

Firstly, .m3u is more generic and will generally open the media player you have
as the default for opening .mp3 files. This can be
Winamp, Windows Media Player or something else. .pls is more specifically for
Winamp and the equivalent for Windows Media Player is
.asx. Also, .ram is for RealPlayer and .qtl is for the QuickTime player. It
should be noted however, that if you select all file
types in Winamp, it will take over .asx.

The format for file names in a .asx file is the same as for a .m3u file.

Thanks,

Greetings,

Please can anybody tell me if there is a format for Media Player like
WinAmp, where the playlist can be given as a file with a specific extension
which if I remember rightly is something like .m3u or .pls or . . .

I need to send .mp3 files out as .zip archives, which when extracted and
played in Media Player, play track-by-track-by-track enabling a person to
skip but also the files must play in WinAmp, so I need include a .m3u file.

also, would I simply put the files into the playlist file like for WinAmp,
for example:

track-01.mp3
track-02.mp3
. . .

Thanks.

Hi all,
When editing a sound byte, I use to be able to do the following, and now I
can not. I will put these steps down first and then explain more.
1. I press the letter q to make sure cuing is on.
2. 2. I then press the spacebar to start the sound byte playing.
3. 3. Next, I would hold down the left shift key and arrow to the
right.
4. Sound forge would play the sound byte as I move to the right,
stopping when I stop arrowing.
However, now in order to hear where my selection has stopped, I have to
listen through the whole section that has been selected. This takes up much
more time. I am not sure what has gotten unchecked or changed and am
hoping someone on this list does.

So simply put, I once could just select the sound and soundforge would just
play the selected data. If I stopped arrowing, sound would stop
immediately. If I moved the arrow right or left, sound would respond
immediately with the new stopping place. I hope I explained my question.
I would be glad to share my phone off list withsomeone if they are willing
to help out. It is probably something I accidently checked off or on.
Thanks for reading this long email.

2014-02-11 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Alexandra,

An M3U file is just a text file which you can create in Notepad or other text
editor. All the file needs to contain is the URL to a
stream. For example, to create an M3U file for 2UE Sydney:

1. Launch Notepad.

2. Type or paste the following line
mms://streaming.mytalk.com.au/2ue

3. Save the file as
2UE Sydney.m3u

An M3U file can contain other descriptive information about the link, but it is
not essential.

That's ok. I'm not sure if the Plextalk recognises the mms type at the start of
the URL in my example or only http, but the steps
are correct.

So far as I know, there is essentially no difference in the contents of the
file between .m3u, .pls and .asx. The difference in
Windows, is which program the file will launch by default. .pls will usually
launch Winamp, .asx will launch Windows Media Player
and .m3u will launch which ever one you have as your default media player.

Hi.

To make this PC related, I use an XM PCR which connects to a PC via the USB
port. It's pretty nice, displaying title and artist of the channels.
Unfortunately, thanks to the infinite wisdom of the RIAA, it's not being
made anymore. They were afraid people could record the station's content to
their hard drives. Oh well, that's to explain why I sent this to the
PC-Audio list.

My question is what channel on XM is broadcasting the Australian Open
Tennis? I can get it through ESPN, but I'd like a play by play of what's
going on, and last year when I tuned in it was pretty good.

Thanks for any help.

In the File Types options, ensure that Show Winamp actions in the Folder

that when they used this option with XP, it worked fine. I have XP, so I'm
not sure why things aren't working for me. I've pasted the blog posting
below so that you can see what I'm referring to. I'm just an average
computer user, so I don't really mess around with my operating system's
settings. The reason I'm trying to get Winamp to place a track directly
below an already existing one, is because I'm in the process of trying to
get a dj position with ACB Radio, and they use Winamp for broadcasting.
Being able to insert tracks erlier in the playlist rather than at the bottom
of it, is ecential, especially if people email me with requests. This way,
I'll be able to play what they ask for in a more reasonable time frame
without them having to wait through multiple songs. It seems like it should
be a simple thing to figure out, but then you know how technology is (smile)
Hope the blog post will make at least a little sense. Thanks for taking the
time to assist me with this.

Hi Mike,

I thought it was only Enqueue and Play you were missing, but you also don't
have any of the default Winamp entries such as Play in
Winamp, Enqueue in Winamp and Add to Winamp's Bookmark list.

In the File Types options, ensure that Show Winamp actions in the Folder
Context Menus is checked. If that doesn't do it, let me
know.

Hi Barry,
Well, I just tried the steps you mentioned in your above email, and when I
went to the file menu after highlighting an mp3 file, I found the following
Items in the file menu:
1. Add to Windows Media Player List
2. Play
3. Scan with Microsoft Security Essentials Dialog
4. Open with Pull-down
5. Scan with Malware bytes Anti-malware
6. Shared folder cyncronization
7. Send to pull-down
8. New pull-down
9. Create shortcut
10. Delete
11. Rename
12. Properties
13. Close
These were all I saw within this menu. There was still no Enqueue and play
option. I don't understand why this isn't working. I found a blog post that

take over all enqueue options for audio files to itself. (Or the context

has hardcoded limit how many options it can show in the first section) But
whatever
the case is the solution is here.
BEHOLD THE SIMPLE SOLUTION:
1.
At first you want to make sure your winamp is setup correctly. That means
you have
Show Winamp in the folder context menus in Windows Explorer option
selected under
Options - Preferences - File Types.
i/winamp01.png/
2.
Then go to the Shell Options and make sure you have Enqueue in Winamp
selected for
files. In the following picture you can also see that even the options are
selected
the Enqueue in Winamp isn't showing on the context menu.
i/winamp02.png/
3. The you need to follow this simple guide how to disable Windows Media
Player aka
WMP from showing in the context menu.
http://windows7themes.net/how-to-rem...text-menu.html
And just in case that site for some reason disappears I'll quote it here:
Quote:
Remove Windows Media Player from Context Menu in Windows 7
Windows 7 can do much more than many people think. Do you know of the
Default Programs
control panel for example?
1. Click on Start and click on Default Programs (optionally enter default

Re: enqueue and play does not show in context menu

2013-12-29 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Mike,

Try the following. If it doesn't work, please let me know and I'll check to see
if there are other relevant settings I have missed.

1. Start Winamp.

2. Press ctrl+p for preferences.

3. Arrow to the Shell Options.

4. Ensure that:
Add 'Enqueue Play' to Winamp's associated file types is checked
Set 'Enqueue Play' as the default file action is not checked
Add files into the queue for delayed playback is not checked
Insert enqueued files after the currently playing file is checked
Leave playback on the currently playing file is checked
Start Winamp playing if it is not already is checked
Enqueue Play in Winamp is selected from the list

5. Tab to Close and press enter.

6. Start Windows Explorer, open a folder containing MP3 files and arrow to an
MP3 file.

7. Press alt.

8. Arrow to Enqueue and Play in Winamp, and press enter. For me, it is not with
the other Winamp options. It is after Open.

This should place the selected track after the one which is currently playing.

Thanks,
Barry Chapman

Subject: enqueue and play does not show in context menu

Hi fellow list members,

First of all, I hope that everyone has had a nice Christmas and that 2014
will bring you happiness and good fortune. Quite a while back, I had written
to the pc-audio list to find out how to insert a track immediately below the
currently playing one in Winamp. Someone on the Pc-audio list, had given me
some directions as to how to do this. I followed all the steps they set out
in their email message, explaining how to get Winamp to insert a new track
below the one that's already playing in the playlist. However, the (enqueue
and play in Winamp) option doesn't appear anywhere in the context menu of
Windows Explorer for some weird reason. The list member said to go to the
shell options under the preferences treeview/dialogue, and checked the check
boxes for add enqueue play to Winamp associated filetypes, insert enqueue
files after the currently playing file, and leave playback on the currently
playing file. Once that was done, I loaded my playlist of songs, pressed
enter on the first song in the playlist and The song plaied as normal. While
it was playing, I pressed Windows key and E, to open windows explorer and
navigated to the folder where the file I wanted to add was located and
highlighted the file. But when I pressed alt F to bring up the file menu, I
did not see anything that said Enqueue and play in Winamp under the file
menu. I even tried going directly to the (my music) folder, which is where
all my music is kept, highlighted a file I wanted to add to the playlist,
and tried pressing both alt F and using the applications key, but no matter
which method I tried, the enqueue and play in Winamp icon was still no where
to be found. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Has anyone else ever
had this issue with Winamp? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Re: Multichannels in Sound Forge

2013-10-08 Thread Barry Chapman
While Sound Forge has multiple channels, I don't think it has multi track
recording facilities which is what you need. Audacity
apparently will do what you want, but I haven't used it myself.

You could sort of do what you want with Sound Forge. For example, say you
wanted to record your voice over a backing track, you
could play the backing track in something like Winamp whilst recording your
voice with Sound Forge. Then you could load both files
into Sound Forge, adjust the start so that they were both in sync and do a mix.

What would be the best way to level the volume in a song? The reason I want
to do so is because I have an accompaniment track for a solo I am singing
this Sunday at church but their sound system is not the best and the song
starts out soft then the electric guitars kick in. The sound guy would set
the level for the loudest part so I would not be able to hear the
accompaniment during the softest sections so would not know if I was on key
and in time or not. If I could lower the volume of the loud sections the
type of accompaniment would chane but not the volume. so all could be at a
level OK with everyone.

Subject: extra long range wireless audio?

hello all,
I am trying to find a wireless audio link device, with an extra long range, and
am hoping for some suggestions if possible please,
as I am just about at my wits end!
I have spent a small fortune trying out a number of audio senders with there
own transmitter and receivers, and some of the small
self contained fm transmitters that are around, but nothing I have tried so far
has the longer range I need, as they all seem to be
designed to be used either very near, or at best in the next room to the device
one is trying to send the audio from.
this does not give me the range I need to send the audio from either my
computer or sky box, which are at the front of my house,
through in to the back garden, which is where I want to receive the audio, so
that I can enjoy both nice weather (when we do get
it), and either the racing or audio from an internet station.
it is quite a big place, so I have had to get a repeater station for my
cordless phone, which otherwise would lose signal when I
took it out the back, and that was supposed to have around a 50M range. so to
be sure of getting a clear and high quality audio
signal, any wireless device needs to have a good 100M range at the very least,
preferably more if I can get it.

Re: Winamp questions

2013-01-03 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Mike,

Pressing l when in the Winamp playlist editor will place the file at the end of
the playlist. There is a way of inserting a file
after the one which is currently playing, but it involves changing some options
in Winamp and also using Windows Explorer.

To achieve this:

1. Open the Winamp preferences with ctrl+p.

2. Arrow to the Shell Options.

3. Check the checkbox for each of the following:
Add 'Enqueue Play' to Winamp's associated file types
Insert enqueued files after the currently playing file
Leave playback on the currently playing file

4. Open a playlist in Winamp and start playing.

5. Open Windows Explorer and arrow to a file you wish to insert.

6. Press alt+f for the File Menu.

7. Arrow to Enqueue Play in Winamp and press enter. This will insert the
selected file after the one which is currently playing.

I am not aware of any cart machine type plugins for Winamp.

I hope this helps.

Hello fellow pc-audio listers:
I hope that you all have had a nice Christmas and that 2013 will be
good to you.
I wanted to ask you guys about Winamp. I recently downloaded version
5.63, which I've heard is very accessible with Windows xp and Windows
7. However, after listening to a discussion about Winamp on an old
episode of Mainn Menu from the ACB Radio archive, one of the
broadcasters said, that Winamp has a weird querkyness about it. They
said, that When you're playing a long playlist of items, and try to
insert a track into the list, instead of placing the track below the
one that's currently playing, Winamp will instead place the track at
the bottom of the playlist, which may not be where you want it to go.
Being that the episode of Main Menu I listened to goes way back to
April 17 2000, the information I heard might no longer be relevant. For
any of you who use Winamp for either broadcasting and/or personal
listening, is there any way to fix Winamp, so that it will place newly
inserted tracks into their proper place in a playlist? Also, is there a
cart machine plug-in for Winamp, that allows users to play sound
effects and radio station jingles? I know that Station Playlist Studio
can do all of this, but in case I'm not able to get my hands on a copy
of Playlist Studio, I might end up having to use Winamp for
broadcasting. I'm not giving up on getting Studio just yet, but if I
should need to, I'll have to use Winamp as an alternative. Thanks.

Re: How to do a partial fade in Sound Forge

Hi Steve,

Have you tried using the voice over mix option? From the edit menu, go to
paste special then mix then voice over mix. I assume you
will want to have something over the section at the lower volume, but if you
don't, just mix a file of the required length
containing silence. You can adjust the voice over mix parameters.

I have needed to do the same thing myself and find that the voice over mix

Question re the C. Crane FM 2 transmitter

2012-11-09 Thread Barry Chapman
Does anyone know if the C. Crane FM 2 transmitter has the option, as does the
earlier model, to increase the output power. I asked
the company, but their reply was Unfortunately I cannot speak of anything
regarding modifications to the unit's power output (not
allowed by the FCC).

Thanks,

Re: i have some questions about mp3 direct cut

2012-11-02 Thread Barry Chapman
There is a way to join files with mp3Directcut, but it is a bit of a fiddle.

1. Open the first file.

2. Press ctrl+c to copy it to the clipboard.

3. Open the next file.

4. Press ctrl+v to paste from the clipboard. This will place the contents of
the clipboard before your current file, effectively
joining the two.

Subject: Re: i have some questions about mp3 direct cut

Hello, I have used MP3DirectCut for years. Because of previous
inquiries I have written up a basic guide to keyboard commands for
this editor. Enjoy.
Jeff

MP3 Direct Cut is a free direct mp3 editor, splitter, cutter and recorder.
Download MP3 DirectCut from
http://www.mpesch3.de

Play and Stop by using the SpaceBar.
During playback, the F8 key will increase playback speed and F7 will
decrease it.

Rewind and fast forward using cursor left and right or page-up and
page-down.
The latter two keys move in larger increments than the first two.
The number of frames each pair moves can be set via the configuration menu.

How to mark beginning and end points of a selection for deletion,
saving as a separte file, etc:
While playback is stopped,
Use the letter b to mark the beginning of a selection
Use the letter n to mark the end of a selection

The following commands use the numbers row above the letter keys,
not the numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard.
These commands move by frame. One frame is roughly a 38th of a second:
1: Move the beginning mark of a selection one frame to the left
2: Move the beginning mark of a selection one frame to the right
3: Move the end mark of a selection one frame to the left
4: Move the end mark of a selection one frame to the right

With the following keys, one can exactly hear, where the margins of a
selection are:
F5: Plays the two seconds before the beginning mark of a selection
F6: Plays the first two seconds of a selection
F7: Plays the last two seconds of a selection
F8: Plays the two seconds after the end mark of a selection
F9: Plays a portion of the file around the selection as if the
selection had been deleted

To remove a selection one can press the delete key.
This does not touch the MP3 file.
It just modifies an MP3DirectCut index.
Therefore, cuts are made quickly.

There are also menu options and shortcut keys to save a selection
into a different file.
For instance, Ctrl-E will save the selection with the opportunity to
choose its own filename.
and Ctrl-W will save the entire audio using the current name or edit
it to something different.

To split an MP3 file, which consists of a complete album, one can use
the pause detection feature, which can be reached via the menu system.
It will set a marker before each song. These markers are actually
selections with a length of zero.
To check the markers, one can go from one to the other with Control
cursor right and Control cursor left.
The file can then be split according to the markers.
Or one can save a cue sheet file or an MP3 DirectCut project file.
Both would contain the markers.
With these marker files, one can easily find certain positions in an MP3
file.

To go to a specific time position within the audio file, use Control-p.
The displayed edit box is a bit odd.
Don't delete the words in it, just modify the numbers for the
current file position.
One has to leave in place the apostrophes, which separate hours
minutes and seconds.
The program needs these apostrophes

Then, there are the recording shortcuts.
r: Opens the record dialog, in which sighted people can adjust the
recording level
p: Starts the recording, when the recording dialog is open
s: Stops the recording.

At 02:22 AM 11/1/2012, you wrote:

I have one of the C Crane transmitters. Without modification, it covers my
house and yard well. My yard is about 125 by 60 or so. Of course, the
higher you can have it, the better coverage you get. I'm told there is an
adjustment under the cover that will raise the output some. It was not
necessary in my case.

 Hi all,

I posted the following yesterday, but it hasn't come up on the list, so
perhaps for whatever reason it didn't get through. There
has been mention recently on the list of high end transmitters with
multiple inputs, but I am wanting something very basic which

I am looking at getting a small FM transmitter which will transmit the
output from a computer headphone jack to an FM radio
approximately 30 to 40 feet away.

I did a Google search and found the C. Crane FM Transmitter 2 which
appears to do what I want, but I have heard in the past that the
 C. Crane transmitters are a little lacking in output power. Does anyone
have one of these units and will it operate effectively
 over the required distance.

Alternatively, can anyone suggest an equivalent product which is better.

Hello Lois and list: I, too, am using the Ccrane Transmitter (am reasonably
sure it's the same model you're using_) have had mine since 2004 and works
well! But about that deal where you could peal the thing off and adjust the
screw: if I'm understanding correctly, the newer transmitters don't allow
you to do that anymore! When I first got mine, it didn't quite have the
power I wanted it to have! It was fine for just listening to the stereo in
this little room where the computer is! But if I wanted to hear what was
going on through the radio I have in the kitchen (I could hear it; it just
wouldn't be in stereo) aw but I got a friend of mine to turn that screw
and..vala! If anyone knows if they make these units in this same way,
please feel free to jump on here and let us know? As I said, have had this
one since 04, so it's conceivable that mine could quit any day in the future
(hope not) but if it does, would be nice to know that I could replace it
with one that would work for me just as well (or..um..I _could_ make it work
just as well?

I have been using a C crane fm transmitter for ten or eleven years now and
find it good for what you intend it for. I plug the output into the cable
coming from the soundcard of my PC and tune the stereo across the room to
the same frequency as I tune the transmitter. I can hear it anywhere in
the house. On the back of the unit, there is a piece of light cardboard
stuck over a little panel with a tiny screw adjustment with which you can
increase the power some. I have had no difficulty with this transmitter.

A good quality sound card wanted

Hi all,

I am looking for a good quality USB sound card with stereo line in, microphone
in and 2 stereo line/headphone out. I am not needing
something with lots of bells and whistles such as surround sound, just
something with high quality input and output, where the
software to control it is screen reader friendly. I realise this question has
been asked numerous times before, but I wasn't
interested at the time and didn't take note of any recommendations.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Re: is it possible to add stations yourself to tapin radio?

2012-03-12 Thread Barry Chapman
The URL you have only works with the BBC iPlayer. If you go to
http://members.optusnet.com.au/stephenjolley/livestreams
you will find a Windows Media Player link to it. Right click on the link and
choose save target as. This will allow you to save
the playlist file. Try using this in Tapin Radio.

Alternatively, press enter on the link to launch Windows Media Player. You
might get a warning message when Windows Media Player
starts, but if you select yes, it should start playing. From the Media Player
menu, select properties and tab to location where you
will find the actual URL. It should be highlighted when you tab to it, so
press ctrl+c and you should have it on the clipboard.
Try pasting this into Tapin Radio.

If the station is not in their database, and you can find its URL from
another source, you can go to the File Menu and choose Open URL. Paste the
URL into the edit field, press Enter, and the station will play. Then you
can add it to your Favorites. You can also go to the Help Menu and submit

This is onboard sound, meaning i did not install a separate soundcard, I
am just using what is already on the motherboard, a Biostar. Or is there
another alternative entirely? It's not a huge deal but was just
wondering how i might be able to get it working, and without breaking
the bank if possible with hardware.

Another question I have is does anyone know where I can obtain Call

Thanks for any input!

Question about streaming via a LAN

Re: Burning an Audio CD

2011-12-31 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Howard,

I don't know anything about the program in question, but make the following
comments.

Whenever you look at any audio CD in Windows Explorer, you will only see the
.cda files. That is why you can't just copy files from
an audio CD to your hard drive. You need to use a CD ripper for that, so
everything up to that point is as expected.

To try to determine why the CD won't play in another CD player, when playing a
track in Winamp, press Insert+shift+t and check the
detail. If the Sample rate is not 44 kHz, then that could be your problem.

Hi folks,
My system is Windows XP SP3 and JAWS 11. I'm using Burn Aware Free trying

I go down the list of files and add each of them (35) to the New Compilation
screen. Then I go back to the first screen that shows the drive letter,
speed (Iselected slowest), and list of files in the compilation. I have to
select all files then Burn. A box on this screen shows the space and time
used and remaining. I hit Burn and it runs for quite a long time--maybe 15
minutes--jaws announcing up to 100% for each track. When it's finished, it
dings and ejects the CD.

Now when I try to play the CD--using Winamp 5.621--it plays fine. When I
look at the CD in My Computer or Windows Explorer, all the files are CDA and
only 1KB and called shortcuts. When I take the CD to a different CD player,
it's empty.

Anybody know what step I'm missing?

fact pressing control and N anywhere got no response. I'm beginning to
think I need scripts but have no idea where to find them. One member gave
me a blind tunes link but I couldn't find any scripts there. Walter.

Hi Walter,

I think your specific question has been answered, but something you might
find useful as a JAWS user is the following.

When focussed on the playlist editor:

1. Press Insert+w to get a list of shortcut keys.

2. Arrow down the list to hear each of the keys and what they do.

3, Press escape to close the window.

You can also get help about other JAWS and Winamp keystrokes by pressing
Insert+h.

Hello to all. Can someone explain to me how to create a play list in
Winamp. I'm using JAWS 12 and EXP home. I am making some progress with
this programme, slowly but the help some of you good people have provided
has been of great value.

I've tried to find something that will allow me to create a play list and
the tutorials I've found on the net contain video and the person is using a
mouse with something different from Classic skins. They also drag and drop,
not something I'm able to do, I know it can be done with JAWS but I don't
know how to do it. Their must be a simple way to create a playlist. I've
tried many times, I've resorted to banging my head against a wall but that
hasn't helped any either LOL. Hope one of you can though. Walter.

Re: Winamp Bookmarks

2011-12-16 Thread Barry Chapman
You can always copy the bookmark files. They are Winamp.bm and Winamp.bm8. If
you need to merge files, you will probably need to
do it manually in a text editor (they are just text files with a line for the
URL and a second for the description). I don't think
there is a sync facility.

With Windows XP, you will find the files either in C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Winamp or C:\Program
Files\Winamp.

Okay well copying them is a start, I wonder if there's a way of telling Winamp

I could do that then I could put them into a folder in my Dropbox and sync from
there.

Hi Walter,

The files go into C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins on Windows XP. I'm not sure

If you download the plugin as an executable file, I think it will have the

Hi Walter,

You need to install the SqrSoft Advanced Crossfading Output plugin. You can
get it from the Winamp site at
http://www.winamp.com/plugin/sqrsoft-advanced-crossfading-output/32368

Once installed, you will need to open the Winamp preferences with ctrl+p,
arrow up or down until you get to output, tab to the list

also tab to configure where you can adjust various
crossfading and other parameters.

I understand your frustration of learning a new program, but Winamp is the

unconventional, but I think once you get to know how it works, you will like
it for its simplicity and versatility.

I'd like to do, now that I started watching a lot more movies on my PC. I
have a lot of AVI files and so on with multiple audio tracks..usually
containing different language dubs, commentaries and so on. Do you know how
to select which individual track to play in winamp? I can get a list of
tracks using alt-three and going over to the tracks tab which shows up in
the AVI info screen, but I can't seem to select anything this way. I'm not
even sure that this method works with the mouse...
I am using Jaws though by the way.

Hi folks. When I originally installed winamp I selected the full option.
It took 2 or 3 minutes to launch. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled but
this time selected the standard option and Classic Skin. It launched a bit
quicker but once I exited it, I couldn't get it to relaunch again. I added
a very large folder to the library but I can't find that list of tracks.
There over 10,000 tracks in there but I can't find a list of these tracks.
The player does play the music from this track list and by pressing the
letter V I can move to the next track. However, I can't find out How to
view the whole track list. I know when I launch Winamp all I get once
launched is the message increase volume and decrease volume when I press the
up and down arrows. I have to press alt and F to get any options. I know
lots of people love this programme but it doesn't seem very accessible on
first impressions. If anyone has any suggestions then they would be
appreciated. Walter.

Wasn't there a utility that would do the file transfers? Now, this was
a few years ago, so may not even be useful now. I didn't pay much
attention to it, and as we all know, 4 years is a long time.

What I would personally do, if I had an ipod etc, would be to use itunes
 only for that purpose.

I feel like I'm being an old fuddy duddy, but I know my younger self
 would agree.

Howver, there ae people who like itunes, and it does everything they
want. To those people, I say, More power to ya. I'm not trying to giv
my oppinion as gospel, merely how I view the world.

Choice means compitition, and the ability for people to find what works
best for them in any given project. Kinda like the old argument about
what linux editing env works better.

 Hi,

Why not use a program that will rip in flac? It's a lossless codec,
and is about half the size of a wave file.

Itunes is a huge bloated piece of crap! The only benefit is, if you
 want to buy their music.

I don't know if exact audio copy will handle flac, but I'd not be
surprised if it did. It's most likely the best for ripping cds,
 because of it's exacting standards.

One more note, not all mp3 encoders are created equil. I don't know,
but would suspect that, Apple does not use lame. However, I have no
 evidence either way.

The nice thing is, once can convert from flac to wave and from wave to
flac and no loss will happen.

Yes there is.

1. Press ctrl+p for preferences.

2. Arrow to the output plugin.

3. Tab to configure and press space.

4. Tab to output device then arrow to the sound card you wish to use.

5. Tab to close and press enter.

That should do it.

It is fairly easy to use. Yu can use z to go back. C to
pause. V to stop.
 B
to go forward. I Uusually just keep the main window and
the playlist
 window
open. There are shortcut keys for opening and closing
windows in it but
 you
can also alt and down arrow to the nelsoft winamp sub menu
and right arrow
into it. Make sure jus the main window and playlist window
are checked.
 You
can open tracks in the playlist window. Control n wipes it
clean. Also
remember if your in the main window by accident it will
remove all the
 other
tracks and just have that one. You can go between windows
with control
 tab.
Also r is for repeat and s is for shuffle. Control shift t
gives the time
remaining and control shift r randomizes the whole
playlist. This should
 be
good enough to get you started. Also make sure it is in
classic skin or
 jaws
won't read it right. This can be changed in preferences
with control p and
then down to skins tab and make sure it is on classic then
hit enter. Any

CD copying recommendation needed

2011-06-01 Thread Barry Chapman
A small blindness organisation has asked me to recommend a program for copying
their quarterly audio newsletter. I know there are
many programs which will do this, but I am looking for something without bells
and whistles which will simply do the following and
is accessible and easy to use.

1. Can read a CD to temporary storage on hard disk.

2. Can produce a specified number of exact copies of the CD. That is, if 20
copies are specified, eject each CD once copied and
prompt for the next until the 20 copies have been made.

3. Has an option to specify the write speed.

4. Has an option to verify that the disk has been written correctly.

5. The program is fairly inexpensive or preferably free.

Note that it needs to do an exact copy of the disk rather than track by track,
since there aren't gaps between the tracks on the
original, so they don't want them on the copies.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Barry Chapman

Re: CD copying recommendation needed

2011-06-01 Thread Barry Chapman
Thanks Dane. At least this message is a little more constructive than your
previous one.

I was hoping for a program where you can insert a CD, specify how many copies
are wanted and it is all pretty automatic from there.
I have looked briefly at EAC, but it seems more complicated than that. The
specs seem to indicate that it is mainly an audio
grabber rather than a CD copier. The person who would be doing the copying is
not particularly computer literate, so I wanted it to
be as simple as possible.

Someone mentioned Nero Express. The organisation has that program, but I
didn't think it was all that accessible. I use Nero
Burning ROM myself, but as you suggest, I think it would be overkill for them.
I'll take another look at Nero Express to see what I
can work out.

Thanks,

Well using Nero and things like that would just seem to over complicate things
in my opinion.

I use Exact Audio Copy to copy CD'S and I can handle more than 1 copy at once
though it may be that you might consider a small CD
duplicating system just to make things easier.

Anyway back to EAC, it can read from a cue/wave pair so that's the contents of
your CD, the WAVE is the audio and the cue sheet
defines where audio tracks begin and end on the CD itself.

Most sound editors these days including Goldwave are capable of producing these
files so once you have a pair? Well its just a
matter of feeding that to EAC, inserting a CD, pressing a button and letting
EAC do its stuff.

I'd imagine you'd only have to do a small number of CD's would that be right? I
mean most people have the Internet so they could
download say through a Podcast system etc.

The other advantage of using a Cue Wave pair is that you could upload it to a
file sharing site - say Dropbox - and have other
people work on the project, say other people copy the CD in other states as
well as your own.

Just a thought

Two great programs, each of which is free. First, express burn. This
is free although a previous poster stated there was a cost. The free
version is limited to noncommercial use and will not burn video DVDs.

Another great free program which will do exactly what you want is
Burnaware. Google as I do not recall the url. The reason I prefer this
is because it has a utility which tells you the exact type of disc which
is in your drive, in addition to which it tells whether the disc is
empty, etc.

Hi.
You can allow multiple instances in the general preferences of Winamp.
That way you can launch multiple instances just from its shortcut for
example.
Take care.

Re: FYI foobar and winamp blog

2011-04-20 Thread Barry Chapman
I have been a long time Winamp user, but have been reading the recent
discussion on Foobar2000 with interest. I would consider
changing to Foobar if it can do all of the following, which are possible with
Winamp. The inability to do them would be a show
stopper for me.

1. The ability to search for a file in a playlist and move it to immediately
after the currently playing track.

2. The ability to locate a file with Windows Explorer and insert it into the
playlist immediately after the currently playing track.
This can be done with Winamp although how to do it is not immediately obvious.

3. The ability to tell the player to stop playing at the end of the current
track or a selected track further along in the playlist.

4. The ability to play the last ten seconds or so of a track without needing to
specify the time.

5. The ability to jump to a specified time in a track.

6. The ability to move forward and back by 5 second increments in a track by
the use of arrow keys or similar.

7. The ability to read the sample rate, bit rate and number of tracks of a file.

8. The ability to modify ID3 tags.

9. The ability to cross fade tracks (I know this can be done with Foobar).

10. The ability to equalise the output volume of files.

That will do for starters. Can anyone say if it is possible to do the above
with Foobar.

Thanks,
Barry Chapman

Re: Advice wanted on USB speakers

2011-03-20 Thread Barry Chapman
Thanks Bob.

I was eventually able to track down some Rock 302G speakers from Austin
Computers in Perth, Western Australia, but I got the last
ones they had. There are a number of sites which still have them listed, but
none of the others I contacted had them in stock, and
the manufacturer say they are discontinued, so I don't think they will ever be
getting any in. Before I was able to get the Rock
speakers, I bought the Logitech LS150 which don't sound too bad, but probably
not quite as good as the Rock 302G. Still the
Logitech ones are streets ahead of some others I have heard.

I know some have suggested that ones connected to the mains have more output
power and this is true, but I wanted something which I
could use outside without having to worry about external power or speaker
batteries.

I tried the site you suggested, but couldn't get anything useful from it using
JAWS.

Hi Barry. I just heard about a new totally digital streeming speaker that

keeping the signal digital right to the amp. They are sold through Apple

local dealer will have some so I can chec them out.
Palo Alto Audio Design Musik Digital
http://store.apple.com/us/product/H4752ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0MAmco=MjEzMDM4OTY

Palo Alto Audio has 2 models; Musik M u s i k
and
Cubik C u b i k. The latter use external power and should be more powerful.

There web page is hard to use but here it is:
www.paloaltoaudio.com

I started out looking for those Rock speakers. It appears only sites that
have them are in Australia.

Yamaha also used to make a usb power speaker that was claimed to have
greater volume because it was an all digital design but I don't have info on
them now.

 Dane,

The point you are missing here is that I have heard a pair of speakers
which meet my requirements in full. They have an adequate
amount of output volume and a sufficient amount of base. Unfortunately,
they don't appear to be available still. They are a little
more expensive than others I have seen (around $35) but that is not an
issue for me. I have heard 3 other sets of USB speakers and
the Rock 302g are streets ahead of the rest. If anyone can tell me where
I can still buy them, I would be most grateful.

Unfortunately I can't demonstrate them so you can judge for yourself.

 Thanks,
 Barry Chapman

Yep, thank you for underscoring the point I've been trying to make, any
good USB speakers - I think the one's I spoke of earlier are
Bose - need that extra power from the wall.

Having said all that though it may be that some new speaker models out
there use digital amps, that being the case then USB power
may suffice but I'd imagine they'd be quite expensive.

nead to plug them into the wall. Other then that they are pretty good.
 They
are a 3 peace surround sound system.

Please can anyone advice me of USB computer speakers which meet the
 following criteria.

 1. Must be powered via USB.

 2. The sound source must be via USB, that is, not a separate lead into
 the
audio output jack of the computer.

 3. The sound quality must be good with a reasonable amount of base.

I have one set which satisfy my requirements, but am wanting to buy
 another
set. The ones I have are the Rock USB speakers 302G,
but they apparently have been discontinued.

I purchased a different set on spec over the Internet, the Gigabyte
 GP-S4600
 2.0 Speaker - USB Bus-Powered Audio System, but didn't
discover until I received them that only the power is via the USB port.
Apart from this, to adequately describe what I think of the
sound quality, I would need to use language which is not suitable for the
 list.

 Any advice would

Re: Turning an mp3 file into a wave file using cdex

2011-03-12 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Vinny,

If you are wanting to create a standard audio CD, you can't do it by just
converting MP3 files to WAV. If you view an audio CD in
Windows Explorer, you will see files with a CDA extension, but these files
don't actually contain the sound.

To create an audio CD, you will need to use a program such as Nero. These
programs will usually permit you to create an audio CD
directly from MP3 files.

Hello,
I have a disk of mp3 files. I need to turn a folder of files so that
they can be played on a standard audio cd.
this folder is mono spoken word files. I know that the cd rate is 44100,
What should the other byt rate be?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Logitech S-20 USB powered speakers

2011-03-07 Thread Barry Chapman
When I couldn't easily find a replacement for my Rock speakers, I bought the
Logitech s-150 speakers. Unlike the S-20, they also
have the sound come via the USB lead, so for someone using a screen reader you
can have the screen reader speech come through the
built in speakers while the music and so on can come through the S-150. With
the S-20, you need to plug a lead into the headphone
jack, so you still only have one sound source. I don't think the Logitech
S-150 sound quite as good as the Rock ones, but not too
bad and certainly worth considering for anyone who is interested.

Hi!

These arrived on my doorstep today and they were as I thought, they sound
reasonable - certainly better than Notebook or Netbook
speakers - but if you're expecting nice hi-fi sound then forget it.

Certainly worth the $25.00 I paid and absolutely brilliant for speech which is
the main reason I got them.

Re: Advice needed on configuring two sound cards

2011-03-02 Thread Barry Chapman
That is correct. They are USB speakers with an in-built sound card. They have
three buttons on the front, one to lower the sound,
one to increased the sound and the third to mute. Unfortunately they adjust
the volume of the internal card rather than the USB
speakers. I could probably solve this problem by making the speakers rather
than the internal card the default sound card, but that
would also cause sounds which by default I want to come through the internal
card to come through the speakers.

I have a lead from the internal card to my hi-fi system which I use for
listening to music etc. I use the USB speakers for JAWS. I
can adjust the JAWS volume by going into volume settings in Windows, but it
would be nice if I could also use the buttons on the
speakers.

I am aware that if I made the speakers the default sound card, I could force
programs such as Winamp to use the internal card, but I
would need to do that for every media player and I didn't really want to have
to go down that track since some players don't provide
that option anyway.

Barry Chapman

 Hi Robert,

It isn't the default card and I don't want it to be, because if I choose a
listen link on the Internet, I want it to come through
the other card. The question is, is there any way of having the volume
control buttons control other than the default card.

 Thanks,

On my desktop PC, I have two sound cards. The default card I use for

The USB speakers used for JAWS have buttons to turn the volume up and

 card they control.

Thanks Ken. I already have an Artic Transport and that is mostly what I used

Hi, you could buy your way out.
you could find a cheap synth usb box, like a triple talk.
or if your realy rich you could get a usb dectalk.
That's all I could think of.
