Aha! Ok, you're thinking of what's called Jump to time. in Winamp that's control plus j. i'm not sure what it is in other players but that's it. I have to say I didn't find this post all that helpful. Winamp works fine for me and for some others using Windows 10. Given that situation, can you elaborate on why we should change to VLC? Assuming winamp works, what does it do better? Also, can you speed up playback with it easily? -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Brian Olesen Sent: Thursday, October 6, 2016 8:01 AM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Subject: SV: accessible software media player that can bookmark Hi, Winamp is a dinosaur. Are there any preferably free Winamp plug-ins that work with the current version that speed up playback? -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Chris Skarstad Sent: Thursday, October 6, 2016 7:50 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> Subject: Re: accessible software media player that can bookmark Yep, and so many people believe that just because it's not being developed anymore that they should completely quit using it and move onto something else, even at the cost of functionality like this. Yep, and so many people believe that just because it's not being developed anymore that they should completely quit using it and move onto something else, even at the cost of functionality like this. This is one of the things I have always liked about Winamp; it has the ability to pick up where you left off in a file! Re: accessible software media player that can bookmark
Winamp does this, provided you have either jaws or Window-eyes scripts. Unfortunately I don't know if NVDA has an addon with this functionality, but it'd be nice. People have delighted in sending me eleven-hour-long audio books, yes, all in one giant file, and i find it impossible to navigate so bookmarks are a welcome feature.
