RE: virtual audio cable was Re: Virtual Audio Streaming

2012-04-15 Thread David Truong
Hi,

Something you are going to have to experiment with but. I don't think you
would need to set up a second VAC. You just point skype output to VAC1.
Audio repeater would have VAC1 input and Output to desired sound device. The
other stuff you mentioned sounds about right. Of course I stand to be
correct on that as I may not be clear on exactly what you are trying to
achieve.

hears an idea I have. we are going to start a bible study using ventrillo.
one member we've contacted in the past via phone on skype. what I am hoping
to do using VAC is set v1 as the default sound card but I then want to point
skype to ventrillo so that the person on the phone can have input.
would I then
set ventrillo to the default sound card v1 create a second line v2 and set
skype to that then set the audio retriever to have v2 input and output to
v1?

Depending on how complicated you wanted the set-up, you might need to
configure a couple of virtual audio cables. Alternatively, you could
simply

make virtual audio cable1 as Windows default sound device then set up an
Audio repeater instance like this:
* input could be virtual audio cable1 and get NVDA to use that virtual
audio

cable1;
* output would be whatever sound device you desired such as USB headphones
etc.
You then would tell your recording device to record from virtual audio
cable1 as this should have NVDA and other sounds mixed into it. Audio
repeater would be how you would monitor what you are recording. Remember
if
you configure any audio based programs to use virtual audio cable1 as
above,

it will be mixed in with all of the other things set to use virtual audio
cable1. As with anything, it pays to experiment and observe.

I found an interesting program/driver combination over on another
list.
It is basically a virtual audio card. It allows you to basically
do what Stereo Mix could offer in XP, but perhaps more. This is
especially useful for Vista and later users, or XP users whose
sound card does not support Stereo Mix. Free trial with "trial"
noise, whatever that is, added as part of the evaluation's
limitations, available at www.virtualaudiostreaming.net. The
program is called Virtual Audio Streaming.

It is basically a virtual audio card. It allows you to basically do
what
Stereo Mix could offer in XP, but perhaps more. This is especially
useful for Vista and later users, or XP users whose sound card does
not
support Stereo Mix. Free trial with "trial" noise, whatever that is,
added as part of the evaluation's limitations, available at
www.virtualaudiostreaming.net. The program is called Virtual Audio

Hello!
speaking of VAC, I tried installing it on my new windows 7 machine here not

that's kind of wierd. It worked on my old XP machine flawlessly. I don't
remember exactly the dialog thing, but I may try and paste it in here so you
get an idea of what's happening, maybe that will be helpful to all of you.

The Audio Repeater is just used to attempt to listen to the output of
what is being sent to the driver. It is not essential to use this with
the driver. In fact, it appears to the system as a virtual sound card,
with several input and output sources. However no sound is produced
automatically, so be careful when modifying the playback settings for
your system.

I found an interesting program/driver combination over on another list.
It is basically a virtual audio card. It allows you to basically do
what Stereo Mix could offer in XP, but perhaps more. This is
especially useful for Vista and later users, or XP users whose sound
card does not support Stereo Mix. Free trial with "trial" noise,
whatever that is, added as part of the evaluation's limitations,
available at www.virtualaudiostreaming.net. The program is called
Virtual Audio Streaming.

RE: virtual audio cable was Re: Virtual Audio Streaming

2012-04-14 Thread David Truong
Hi mate,

Well I'd love to write one if I had the time. Also, I'd only be reinventing
the wheel. Use the following link to hear someone else demo Virtual Audio
Cable:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2761056/vac.mp3

Also, it helps when you are trying to understand VAC (Virtual Audio Cable)
to think in simple terms. Don't over complicate what the program can do. Vac
is just that, a software cable or cables with software outputs and inputs.

David, if it is so simple, would you be so kind as to write a guide for
those of us who don't understand the program? I've tried using it, and yes,
it's concepts seem simple but I've never figured the interface out.
I'd love to know how to use the thing, it looks damn useful.
