AAC has to be transcoded into Flac to play on an SB2. Rebuffering could be caused by processor load or network load. I don't think there should be a processor problem so perhaps it is network related. What is CPU load on Macbook when playing the stream ? Of course, following standard behaviour, after reporting intermittent problems, I am currently not getting them! Do the logs show what kind of stream is being played? If so, how? A quick current check shows a CPU load of around 10% with several programs running but idle.Network download shows at around 30 KB/s, and the Powerline load (or available load) at 80 Mbits/second. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Annouce: SB Player, a software Squeezebox player app for Android.
Update about SB Player on the FireTV: Failed the review process again, fortunately it's a simple problem. Apparently the FireTV doesn't have a web browser app, so it couldn't handle the contact info links in the About dialog box. Resubmitted an updated version, lets see how long it will take this time. BTW, just updated on the Play store too. This one adds the launch at boot option and improves synchronization across track changes. -- Squeezebox apps for webOS, Android and Windows Phone, http://www.angrygoatapps.com wt0's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18760 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98049 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I am finding that scans of my library are fairly quick until it starts scanning Album cover lookup and Artist picture lookup(add another 45 minutes or so to scan time). It seems to me that this shouldn't need to be done every scan if the information is cached somewhere. I don't want to turn cellular on for iPeng, and i can just hit OK to get it off the screen, but if there's an easy fix, I'd like to know about it. Thanks. It was the OS update to iOS 7 and there is absolutely no way around it except for turning on cellular. It's one of these things Apple has done really badly. It's an iOS message, not an iPeng one. It will show up for every App that has ever accessed the internet (through any means) and then got cellular data turned off on it. It doesn't depend on what the App does, it will always come up when you launch the App. There are a lot of cases iPeng needs to communicate to the internet (MySB, cover art, online streams, web browser) so removing all that functionality is not an option. I think what happened here is that Apple introduces that switch to turn off cellular and just completely forgot to integrate it into the communication APIs. Apps have no chance to find out that they have been cut off and what is worse, iOS will even report that they are online if you are on cellular but have blocked cellular data. So every App that tests whether it has a working internet connection and does something based on this test will no longer work correctly. So I believe Apple just introduced this warning message to make sure people understand what might be the cause if an App no longer works as expected. Why do you need to turn off cellular, BTW? Did you enable preserve connection or why? --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 7, the Universal App for iOS 7* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

However, when I do the same thing on iPeng, it only plays the (shuffled) first 500 songs of the library. Not that I don't like the Arctic Monkeys, but there's more to music than that :) Hm, I don't use that plugin, at least in the past it didn't work on OSX and I never bothered to install it on any of my ubuntu test servers. Is this now reasonably simple? I'll probably give it a try but I'm not sure I have 500 tracks in my Google Music library. First and most important question: how does Logitech's App and a Squeezebox Touch or Radio behave if you do the same thing. Second question: what EXACTLY do you do in both interfaces? Please describe every single touch or click from the main menu level on. A screen shot of the iPeng view in which you play would also be helpful. But what you describe sounds like you might not do the same thing in iPeng as in the web interface. How exactly do you choose play in both interfaces? In iPeng, tapping the first track obviously will start the playlist from there. The 500 track limit is a (configurable) server restriction as you probably know, I assume through the web interface the plugin also only plays 500 tracks but different ones? So in iPeng you should have to either play the header (if there is one) to issue an action on the whole library or use the library's context menu. If that still fails the most likely explanation is a problem with the plugin implementation for the SqueezePlay menu iPeng uses vs. whatever the plugin uses for the web interface (that might be different code). There are a few cases where iPeng turns shuffle off before playing something but that's really usually only if you want to start playback from a certain track and the plugin's menu doesn't support that straight away. I would have to look at the code the plugin sends for the menu to see that.
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
mps wrote: Any help much appreciated, OK, it's a I suspected: the plugin somehow does completely different stuff in the player interface (which iPeng uses) and the web interface. What it probably needs to do is respect the shuffle setting whenever the googlemusic playlist play command is issued and the add a list of randomly selected tracks instead of the current behavior of just adding all tracks. This should be somewhat straightforward given that the plugin seems to already do this from the web interface but I don't know the specifics. There's nothing I can do here from the iPeng side (other than create a better icon which I will do now...) Other than that the plugin works quite well, I like it. Should somehow be more easily installable.
