I would have to check tbh, as I have been using repack on dsm6 for some
time with no issue.

I haven't seen an Lms update for a very long time from Synology, so
hadn't checked if there was a version being updated by synology for the
dsm6 beta.

I'm non UK with a smaller system. DASH has subtle differences that
"frequent bufferign" should not happen providing a good network. So I
think the issue is more local and you should enable logging to work
through and resolve the issue.

On DASH only setting - Do you get rebuffering with Listen Again or with
live or with both ?

With so many stations , there have been many typos in the URLs which
usually result in a problem. With each release a few more is fixed. So
I'll Radio Nottingham on one to be checked.

Nobody noticed up to 1.4.7 that non UK Radios Tee and West Midlands and
Radio Nan Gaidhaeil didn't work in BBCiplayer and currently Radio
Scotland doesn't work in BBCiPlayerExtra

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version

2015-12-21 Thread bpa

For logging you only need to set plugin.bbciplayer.dash to INFO - with
everything logged there is a lot of "noise"

Just to be clear - this is a single player - not a number of player
synced.

Purely for DASH. If what I think is happening, it is the same as I saw
on another Windows systems and bizarrely I think it is because the
system is going too fast and demanding audio when none is available and
swamping the system.
I have been working on a change but I'm not sure if it is good for
Listen Again . Attached is a replacement for the DASH.pm file - detach
unzip, make a copy of BBCiplayer DASH.pm and then replace existing
DASH.pm file in the BBCiPlayer plugin and then restart LMS.

Just for completeness - I still get the DNS issue but it is quite well
defined when they occur. I don't know whether is a BBC load sharing
issues or another DNS issue - still checking. However the DNS issues
should not be conflated with rebuffering.

I use both BBC iPlayer (dash) and the iPlayer Extras. My LMS is a
medium powerful small fanless linux server and I do play to both a Boom

Ditto, my server is a 1.6GHz Intel Atom with 5400rpm laptop 2.5" drives.
LMS 7.8 runs fine on this, transcoding 320kbps AAC for my Receiver. This
is a far less powerful server than mbg has, so I don't think server
performance can be relevant to his problem.

Yes - single player. It is in a sync group with others but the others
are not turned on.

I've attached some more logs with the debugging info reduced. Two
rebufferings occurred during this time window.

Will try your updated module.

Thanks.

I've attached logging of my just-now attempt to play BBC Radio Four live
(non-UK) with all of the iPlayer debugging turned on.

This is streaming to a Boom and it stopped after about 1 minute. If I
streamed to a Radio, it would likely work fine.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2015-12-21 Thread PasTim

Having been somewhat confused as to the purpose of this plugin, and then
learning that it should also work on the video version (I have the
recent one bought just out of interest) I thought I'd give it a try.
It's connected to my TV via HDMI.

I used the standard release of the plugin, with the configuration
totally standard, and played 16/44.1 tracks. I get sound, but no
artwork on the TV (the reverse of a comment on another related thread?).
The artwork option is on (as per standard).

I then went back to use sq2u in my normal way, and it wouldn't work at
all, with the player crashing every time I tried to start a track.
Having stopped and restarted my slightly temperamental UPnP player I
still got player crashes. I stopped and restarted sq2u, still getting
player crashes. I stopped the chromecast plugin, and all worked fine.

Odd. I only did this test out of idle interest - I can't see myself
using it (If I want to I can use UPnP straight to the TV without using
the Chromecast), and I don't know if others would want to use the video
version. However, if these results are of any interest, and you want
logs (maybe in the New Year!), let me know.

Seconded. I have my sleevenotes as PDFs in the same album folder as the

Could it be that the MAC address of the player is not properly detected
and so both plugin use the same "internally generated" mac address and
they then try to access the same file ? I have the 2 plugin running on

Thanks Phillipe,

I'd come to that conclusion and re-instated sq2u, tidied up my various

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version

As with many others, I appreciate the work going on by bpa and others to
keep this plugin up to date.

Just wanted to mention that I have the same issue with the DASH
streaming as I had with the HLS streaming - that is, that on the legacy
players like Boom that require transcoding due to fewer native formats,
there is frequent buffering and the stream is essentially unlistenable.

On newer players like Radio, it works fine.

I'm using the non-UK streams.

And, it's a pretty powerful server (Core i7-3770, 32GB RAM, Windows
Server 2012, OS and LMS running from SSD) with no sustained competing
loads and no observed CPU contention.

Hi Martin

I switched from LMSRepack to LMSUpdate Package.
How does the upate work on this package? Do I have to donwload the
update you mentioned and install it *over* the older version? Or do I
have to uninstall the older version first?

Kind regards and many thanks fpr your superbe work

You could implement ShairTunes on LMS thus creating an AirPlay instance
for each SB device and then install the AirPlay player emulator on your
Phone - that should work but will be clunky.

*Vortexbox LMS 7.8 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets

*Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755
-> Wharfedale Modus Cubes
*Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio)
*Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones
*Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 ->

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2015-12-21 Thread ModelCitizen

Hi.
I've installed this plugin on 32bit Windows 10 running latest stable
version of LMS. It's found both my Chromecast players (one an original
and the second a new Chromecast Audio) and the music 'appears' to play
correctly but neither devices are producing any sound. They are silent.
I've rebooted, restarted and de-powered server and devices, but no joy.
Running squeeze2cast-win exe is ticked in settings.

What should I look at to diagnose the problem?

Thanks for any help.

Difficult to say without knowing which media you are playing and to what
type of output device (Amp, Radio etc.) I use the LMS Volume Changes >
Ignore all changes settings on mine so that volume remains where I left
it on the output device. Try a music file if you're having problems with
internet radio - have seen that sort of symptom on Internet Radio a few
times.

Thanks Ian. I've tried flac, BBC radio (live and listen again) and mp3.
Volumes on both LMS and the two audio devices are set to a reasonable
level. If they were receiving audio they would definitely be making a
sound.
A guy (SlimPvc) on the Chromecast thread has just reported 'exactly' the
same problem.

Very likely on Windows a firewall issue. Run once the squeeze2upnp-win
and squeeze2cast-win from the plugin directory directly. it should ask
for permission, then it should work permanently

Thanks Philippe. squeeze2upnp-win does not exist in the my Castbridge
plugin folders, but I did what you recommended with squeeze2cast-win.exe
and both Chromecast play audio now. Sp thatnks very much.
And while I am here. Thank you very much indeed for this plugin. It is
crucial to my continued use of LMS.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2015-12-21 Thread philippe_44

I've uploaded a dev-5. The main differences are:

- All UPnP actions are now queued properly, this is cleaner but might
cause a different response behavior / timing
- Tracks over one hour were rolling over to 0
- Removed an option that I initially though was needed for NamUniti to
pause & reposition correcty (can somebody check ?)
- Add full buffering (-5) HTTP streaming mode that forces a buffering
of the whole audio file before answering UPnP player track request. This
allows to send a real size to player as some player are really finicky
with missing HTTP length
- Response to players asking twice the same track is now 404 (not
found) instead of 500 (server error)
- armv5 static build is back
- Add powerpc build (static and dynamic)
- all builds (avec OSX) are made using QEMU
- accessible from configuration screen

I don't have much time for test, so feedback highly appreciated but
expect some issues

Thx Uwe,

Just like every other update, you can install the new package without
uninstalling the current one. You don't even have to stop the running
version.
So, download LmsUpdate and use the manual install function in DSM
Package Center. That's it!

I guess it would be possible to get LMS to run on Android, but it is
probably not trivial.

It's likely the firewall which is on by default in 7

As a test, as root, try disabling it and then restart LMS.

systemctl stop firewalld.service

I don't know yet when I will support DSM6. I do still hope that Synology
