Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2017-12-11 Thread Michael Herger

My favorite list is limited to 450 songs only.

Are you referring to a playlist?

Is there a way to get the
total list appearing in IPENG ?

You could apply for your own dev key on developer.spotify.com, then
enter it in Settings/Advanced/Spotty.

I'm limiting the number of items a.) for performance reasons (we can
only get a limited number of tracks in a single request), and b.) to
protect the shared dev key from being blocked for many by the use of some.

secondly the list appears with the oldest song first rather than the
last added songs order. A way to change this ?

The order isn't something we're in control of. The tracks are listed in
the order Spotify returns them. There's no way to tell them which order
we'd want them.

Not sure if I got my point across lol. Yes they are all synced and they
are all off. They show up in app as individual players. However it
doesn't matter which one I select the same player plays which is the
last player.

The last player in what? And is this the only player which would start
playback? Does this only happen when the players were off?

Thanks for the thoughts. Each SBT has its own DENON amp, and those two
players individually are set correctly with the unique IP of the
corresponding amp. I have not enable syncing of the volume on either
player. They should be working individually. This has only started
occuring since I changed my family room (two zones set up on this amp)
SBT settings so that only the zone 2 switches on with the SBT and zone 1
remains off unless I override it. If I have zone 1 on with the TV
feeding through that zone it is then that switching off the SBT in the
lounge area (other SBT and amp) will switch the zone 1 off in the family
room, but leave zone 2 on. Not a huge problem, but curious.

The plug-in is working great after the latest update, resume/transfer
playback between any connect device is flawless. And no more track
skipping! Great job!
Only thing is that the volume of the device I transfer the music to is
automatically set to 0. But perhaps it meant to be that way? Anyway, it
is better than get the volume transferred from the latest device.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2017-12-11 Thread kezz

Hi mherger, thanks for your help:

Just to recapitulate my issue with the plugin in my best detail,
-My system is-:

Code:

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1512734075 @ Fri Dec 8 04:08:55 PST
2017
  Hostname: kaban.local
  OS: OS X 10.11.6 - EN - utf8
  Platform: unknown
  Perl Version: 5.18.2 - darwin-thread-multi-2level
  Audio::Scan: 0.95
  Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)
  Total Players Recognized: 4

-My problem-: Spotty displays information, album art and other things
from my Spotify account correctly; playhead progresses as if the song
were actually playing -but there is no sound.-

-I've tried-:

- Going to the file types menu and unchecking each of spotty's file
types to see which one would work; with FLAC off the track skips to
the next one (or Don'tStopTheMusic if the playlist is empty) but
  otherwise same problem.
- Today I tried rolling back Spotty to the last known working version
for me, which was 1.3.3 yet that didn't work either.
- My FLAC codec is good, it's the most recent one included in the
server. Tried C-3PO to see if I could tell it to transcode via it's
version of SOX / FFMPEG and instead it turned everything (even regular
file playback) into incomprehensible noise (However the Spotty
playback wasn't technically silent though but it was just random
  noise)

Everything is still stock and I've tried to touch as few things as
possible as to not break anything further; previously there were no
errors yet since I tried some things today I have gotten these to show
up with the silent playback:

Hopefully this will be what we need to get Spotty working again, it's
been a few months;
I'm not sure what else I could do to force Spotty to decode the audio
and make sound, my best guess would be modifying the custom-convert.conf
file to include a path to a better working flac / lame converter if the
one on my system isn't good enough (I haven't touched any of these
things this is just a theory, also all my other local files are in FLAC
so I know the FLAC decoder is working)

Much obliged for developing the plugin~

So if you have the same problem on UPnP and Airplay, that's interesting
because the detection systems are totally different, so it excludes an
issue with libupnp (respectively mdns). Maybe there is one thing I could
try which is to never remove a player UNLESS I receive an explict

never removed, even if a BYE-BYE is received. Assuming that a player

ufw doesn't support that, as far as I know. There are undefined ports
above 3 or so that UPnP needs, and probably airplay as well, so I
have to open a range above that level.

Well that's far for the behaviour I see for UPnP or Airplay, which is
one reason why I use them with LMS less than other methods. It's quite
possible that this is to do with ports, firewalls, and whether the
router supports certain types of fishing on the local network (for
instance I have UPnP support disabled in the router), or something to do
with my players. I really don't know, but it's been a constant minor
frustration (I've tried waiting for many minutes with no success, and

Yes, I meant ufw, sorry. I can't see a way to tell what port will be
opened because the protocol says that you have to open the UDP ports,
tell the player what they are and then wait for packets.

For volume, testing, maybe you could just unplug the speakers and see

The bridge never stops trying to detect players, they never get "burnt",

ipfw isn't standard on linux, so I've never used it, and I'd be nervous
about letting an application just take what ports it wants. Using ufw
(or the graphical equivalent gufw) one can log what the firewall is
doing, and look specifically for incoming requests that are blocked.
I've done that and it seems OK, but sometimes I get fooled by broadcast
requests not addressed specifically to the music server. I already have
some ports open for this player using UPnP (both the bridge, and using
the Marantz as the controller to other UPnP servers), and added 8200 and
9000 tcp plus 5353 UDP.

I'll try Trigger, but testing is dangerous - max volume could break my
speakers, and the volume does not go down well with other occupants :)

I don't know enough to know where to even start to work out why the
player doesn't show when started up from cold. If it's previously been

Interestingly enough I noticed for some reason that the Settings for the
plugin cannot be accessed from the web interface (LMS 7.7.2 - r33893).
This may be because the Google Code repository is no longer valid.

I have not touched my LMS server for years nor looked at the code for
the plugin even longer. When you set up the plugin it needed an IP
address for the amp. The plugin sends Denon commands to that address.
If the amps are connected then maybe that's the issue. I would think you
would have to have unique IP addresses for each amp but the plugin only
supports one amp per LMS instance. Not sure how you have all of that
setup.

I've never looked carefully at ipfw, but can't you just configure so
that application X can open the ports its wants?
I'll look again but the log does not seem to show anything particular.
Have you tried the Trigger option? (Let feedback on)
Rescan button would not do anything different than the periodic rescan.
I should work on trying to solve why it does not work in the first place

Track info and cover is displayed on the TV, but you can tweak a bit how
in the ATV settings. It works like a regular airplay application. Flac
is supported and ogg will be automatically transcoded by LMS. Don't
forget to do the pairing with ATV

Try first to disable volume feedback in the plugin settings. If it still
do that, then it's unlikely a plugin problem

Not sure if I got my point across lol. Yes they are all synced and they
are all off. They show up in app as individual players. However it
doesn't matter which one I select the same player plays which is the
last player. The app says Lounge Touch is connected and playing when in
fact its the dining room player. I can change it to bedroom or kitchen
and it will still only play in the Dining Room. That make more sense?

Cheers

Just tried transferring to a different player using Connect (Radio to
phone) and playback on the Radio stopped correctly. I then transferred
back to the Radio and after a second of playback it paused. Hitting play
it paused again after a second of sound. Repeat indefinitely.

No. While I've seen this reported many times, I haven't been able to
reproduce the issue.

Just go to Settings/Advanced/Spotty. That should bring up the page.

Hi
I have a Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 with the firmware 6.9.1 installed and
the LMS 7.9.0 installed.
I have added the Spotty app (v1.99.1) to the LMS but when I click on the
settings for the Spotty app I get following fault message.

404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/Spotty/settings/basic.html

Dose any know what the problem is?

So could a 'Rescan' button do anything different from the periodic

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Essentia Integration - music classification (moods, genres, ...)

2017-12-11 Thread Michael Herger

FWIW, I noticed the updates of LMS Essentia Integration plugin required
me to restart the LMS service twice before it worked smoothly (the
latest update v0.0.5 even three times).

Are you running LMS < 7.9 or some older version of 7.9? Previously LMS
didn't wait for the plugin to be downloaded before asking the user to
restart. Just give it a minute or two before the restart, and it should
work first time. 7.9.1 would wait until it has finished downloading
before prompting you to restart.
