I’m also a heavy user of Spotty, Spotify deliver your personalized items under the Home entry, like ”More like...” . I would describe these as playlist of some sort. [SlimDevices: Plugins] IPeng laggy on volume & song changing over LMS
I am really struggling here with this now as over time Ive got this issue I didnt have previously - its crept in somewhere - maybe a software update too many on old equipment? * I need the variable volume over the app as my amp is not remote volume. So: Changing volume on the iPhone doesnt immediately change the actual volume. Then, a minute later it will jump up/down depending on what I slid the volume to last. It use to work all the time but this happens after a few adjustments. Then I have to refresh cache on the iPeng app. And on it goes. Selecting a different song/adding to playlist etc as above: becomes unresponsive after a short while until I refresh cache on the iPeng app. I dont know if its: The Squeeze Box Touch/software The NAS/LMS software Ipeng app The WiFi router (Sky fibre/on standard tel line / 76mb) Its got to the point where Im having to consider replacing all my kit as its becoming unusable now. But if its fixable I would prefer to eek it out a bit longer. Details: NAS: Netgear ready NAS running LMS 7.8.0 Perl version 5.8.8 sparc linux Squeezelite 3.7.7.1 SQB Touch: v7.8.0 (I think!) Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Deezer app
The times I see an mp3, I think the behavior is as follows: 1- Click on play an entire album. 2- Playback starts. For a few seconds I see a FLAC label, but then it changes to 320 mp3 for the rest of the song. 3- From the second song on, I see only FLAC. Meaning that I get an mp3 only on the first song of a playlist or album. The rest plays fine as FLAC. It's only the display which is wrong. And I haven't figured out why yet. The stream would be flac anyway. If you brought up the track information it would show flac (and I verified the actual stream, too). Cosmetics. We'll get there :-). That said this all is a bit hit and miss, because there's no documentation available, despite the link Rudi posted. They don't explain how to get the FLAC stream, or when FLAC would be available. It's all a bit of guess work right now. Eg. there's a "filesize" element - and sometimes "filesize_flac". But no word whether this would only be there if you had a HiFi subscription. But I'm using it to decide to offer FLAC or not. We'll see whether this is a valid assumption or not. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
This is probably the wrong thread, but anyway: If I add a podcast that's already been played for a while, I get the option to "Play from the last position (mm:ss)" or "Play from the beginning". If I now "Append to queue" the "Play from the beginning", I get this: 32395 The item added is called "Play from the beginning" instead of its title. Could be a design choice, of course. But: Now if I "Append to queue" the "Play from the last position", it'll look like this (first three entries): 32396 Every time I "Append to queue" something, all appended items will get the name of the last appended item. I know it's normally a either / or kind of thing, but it's strange anyway. So maybe new items shouldn't be added if there's one of the two options already in the queue? This may break the "keep it close to standard" directive, but for many years I've used the original birdslikewires Joggler / Squeezeplay build (on internal flash) but with a copy of Squeezelite also loaded and running as a separate player (started within .xinitrc just before squeezeplay.sh). Squeezeplay itself uses the internal speaker but is configured via Choose Player to control the squeezelite instance, which outputs to a USB DAC - currently a Behringer UCA202 using "-o hw:CARD=CODEC,DEV=0" but previously a Topping DAC/Amp. You do need to configure an explict, unique MAC address via -m for the squeezelite instance (otherwise LMS gets confused). The original reason was to avoid transcoding AAC streams and content in a very low-powered LMS and poor wifi network, but I've kept the configuration even without those constraints as it works well, with the useful side effect of the touch interface sounds coming directly from the Joggler but the content coming from the main system. That's the wonder of open source. I'll keep supporting BBCiPlayer & Extra as long as it is feasible but it is dependent on BBC. It is always good to have a backup. BBC Sounds is another natural evolutionary iteration of BBC on LMS. AlienBBC had screenscraping & RealAudio which was then replaceed by FlashAudio and a BBC "Listen Again" feed. Then BBCiPlayer with the same feeds but moved to HLS, Flash and MP3 and then to DASH. I took on maintenance of BBCiPlayer mainly for selfish reasons - I used it. "Listen Again" feed is now creaking and BBC have wanted to retire it for ages. BBC retired the other APIs BBCiPlayerExtra used hoping Nitro would work but I think tech overtook Nitro. RMS evolved and now seems stable and why I think it is a solid basis. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113352 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If you feel adventurous: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/index.php?ver=8.1 That's the dev version with new features, like eg. Deezer HiFi support ;-). Please note that it can be rough, and I can't guarantee that it's stable at all times. But I would be happy to get your feedback. I do have a joggler, but I use it only as a controller, so hadn't noticed. But I can replicate the behaviour. The difference between BBC Sounds and BBC Iplayer (it came up before on a different issue) is that BBC Sounds is explicitly sets the sample rate on the track whereas Iplayer doesn't. I believe the BBC Sounds is behaving correctly, but, by fluke, by the iplayer not setting the sample rate it enables the default flac conversation to be selected and it all sorts itself out within there. I've created a build with the sample rate setting commented out and it all magically works. I guess I could add it as a preference. But this is really a bug in LMS (The Youtube plugin will have the same problem for 48 sample rate streams as much of the m4a unpacking code came from there) If you want an immediate fix, comment out line 94 in the m4a.pm Code: if ( my $atom = parseAtoms( 'moov', $dataref, $args ) ) { $props->{mp4a} =$atom->{'trak'}->{'mdia'}->{'minf'}->{'stbl'}->{'stsd'}->{'entries'}->{'mp4a'}; $song->track->bitrate( $props->{bitrate}|| $props->{mp4a}->{'esds'}->{'avgbitrate'} ); # $song->track->samplerate( $props->{'samplingRate'}|| $props->{mp4a}->{'samplerate'} ); $song->track->channels( $props->{'channels'}|| $props->{mp4a}->{'channelcount'} ); expectingtofly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63263 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin
If the old interface really has gone and the move the BBC Sounds plugin is permanent then there is one thing I would like some help to resolve. One of my players is a Joggler (with output by USB but same issue happens on the built in speaker). The device is limited to 44.1khz via asound.conf (I tried setting it to 48 but it would not play anything). When I play to it via BBC iPlayer plugin it gets transcoded to Flac. When I use BBC Sounds plugin ... it is reported on the device as an incompatible frequency. It is running JiveLite/Squeezeplay not Squeezelite. I remember that last year(?) there was a rebuild for Joggler to use Squeezelite and disable player in JiveLite ... but I would like to avoid doing that for now because I am trying to keep the Joggler as close as possible to the birdslikewires release and it works with iPlayer plugin. I guess I need to replicate iPlayer custom-convert but a hint would help. If it is deliberate, it may be tied into the fact the BBC Sounds became universally available to non UK users Since mid Sept and BBC wants to retire the "old" feeds and "migrate" users to use BBC Sounds. The BBC Sounds plugin is available for LMS and just requires registration on BBC Sounds website. BBCiPlayerExtra A-Z and Genres does not use the "old" feeds and may still work. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113352 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

At a guess your OS does not have up to date SSL libraries. 1. What is the version of IO::Socket::SSL - see WebUI / Settings/information 2. What OS do you have and what version ? Usually you need at least version 2.06 for IO::Socket::SSL and at least 1.1.* of OpenSSL if you are using Linux or some versions of MacOS/OSX. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113352 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer Listen Again Lost
Hi, I have lost BBC iPlayer Listen Again channels since sometime after 19.00 UK time yesterday. I am now getting an error message '410 gone'. Live BBC channels are unaffected. Since losing the channels LMS has flaggged up that an update (Version 8.0.0) is available, which I have installed. This has made no difference. I'm using iPlayer version 1.6.9, and I have -http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/betarelease-repo.xml- installed (at least, it's listed in my plugins at the bottom of the page, and I don't think this has changed since yesterday).
