thx for the swift response. No, I did not compile the helper.

Spotty 4.8.4 (apologies for abusing this thread...)
on the settings page I have Automatisch Wählen -

When I restarted LMS I had to log in to mysqueezebox.com again.
The plugins were still there, however.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.7.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-02-22 Thread ElFishi

I have a strange new problem:
When Spotty is run via Connect from the spotify app, I can't change to a
different playlist. When I try to start any of the Spotify playlists in
the app, Spotty simply continues to play from the present playlist.
The app als recognises this and shows the right song being played.
Pressing play on another list, starts the first song from the old list.

I can terminate the Spotty connection and have the app play music from
the same computer. Then I can chose another playlist and it will work as
expected, playing from this computer. Then I go back to connect spotty
(and possibly crash spotty and wait for it to come up again). Once
connected again spotty will play the new playlist.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.7.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-01-20 Thread ElFishi

So, spotty broken again and here is the trace.

I start spotty-custom as advised and get a player shown in the Spotify
windows app that I can connect to.
When I do that I get the output as attached.

26594

The moment I connect to the player shown the first part of trace comes
out from ERROR:librespot_core just before thread 'main' panicked.
The spotify app then says that it is connected to that player. This
behaviour is different from the behaviour spotty-hf shows. spotty-hf
completely dies when I try to connect.

The second part of the trace starting from thread 'main' panicked only
gets printed when I press play in the Spotty Windows app.

Yes, Sir.
It may take a day or two for me to return with results as I need to
a) have the condition occur and
b) have a minute to pull out the trace.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.7.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2019-01-13 Thread ElFishi

Here I am back with a problem that I had before, but that went away in
the meantime. Now its back:

System is Rpi3b+, pCP 4.0 with LMS and Squeezelite/Jivelite
Everything ran OK, sometimes the connection btn the Win10 Spotify app
and the player was lost, but most of the time the connection could
easily be re-established from the app.

Now spotty-hf crashes every time I try to connect from the app.
Spotty-hf restarts and I can see it in the app again, but as soon as I
connect the spotty-hf process is gone.

Playing music from spotty inside the LMS gui works on the other hand.

Help?

clearing the cache in chrome or edge does not bring back the left pane
for me.
I presume the equivalent info to the one asked above is for chrome:

restarting LMS doesn't change anything, nor does restarting pCP.
I can play one song at a time from the LMS web gui. But I can't run a
playlist (e.g. a full album from Spotify) it keeps repeating the first
song.

system is 3 players synced:

- RPi3B+, pCP4.0, spotty2.6.6, LMS, Squeezelite, Jivelite
- piZero, pCP4.0, Squeezelite
- SB3

When I unsync the players, spotty does not crash upon connecting from
the app.
But the above log lines keep flooding in.

Help?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.6.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-12-09 Thread ElFishi

Hello there,

I am currently experiencing repeated crashes of the spotty daemon in my
current (new) system setup:

- RPi 3B+, pCP4.0+LMS(7.9.2 - 1543258616 @ Mon Nov 26 20:30:03 CET
  2018), jivelite + 3,5" screen
- RPi zero, pCP4.0
- SB3

After playing OK for quite some time the music stopped and the Spotify
app became disconnected from the players.
Every time now I try to reconnect, the daemon crashes (log-0 attached).
This also happens when I unsync the players.
In this situation restarting LMS or even pCP doesn't help (log-1).

I can select and play music from the Spotty application in the LMS web
gui.
Connect from the Win 10 spotify app is completely broken.

Same here.

I was running a playlist of spotify songs from the LMS web interface
when all of a sudden the music stopped. I tried restarting LMS,
reconnecting spotty, different players, unsyncing, the works.
LMS just skips from song to song while the jivelite display tells me
"Datei kann nicht geöffnet werden für: ..." I do get some of the album
art, though.
Spotify Connect also not working.

System is RPi3B+, pCP, LMS(latest nightly), jivelite, 3.5" LCD

why picoreplayer? I wouldn't use the box to play music, just serve it.
i have pCP on a zeroW for my kitchen player and am quite happy with it.

I monitor CPU and memory every minute. Loads are under 0.5 and available
memory around 680MB.
Plain Raspbian Stretch Lite.

I consider moving LMS, spotty and maybe smb/HDD to a separate RPi.
What is an advisable (minimum) configuration? I have a RPi 1 and a Zero
floating around I could put to use.
Or I get a 3+ right away to spare myself the hassle.

Thanks for the new version!
I can now use it for my three synced players, but I still have a few
dropouts when I use Spotify Connect with synced players. You have more
logs in your dropbox.
This is what happened this morning:

8:20 music stops, two processes -n & -c, progress bar running in
Spotify, stops at end of song.
progress bar stopped in LMS web gui
press >|, music back
8:36 unchecked "nicht im lokalen Netzwerk bekannt geben": can't play
music
other box (Überwache die Verbindung) vanished
music has dropouts
checked nicht bekannt geben und Überwache Verbindung
8:40 no player to connect to, spotty-hf -n gone
8:43 players there again, connected
8:57 music stops -c & -n still there, spotify still connected and
progressing, LMS progress stopped
8:59 end of song, spotify stopped, pressed >|, music plays again
9:06 music stops, -c & -n still there, spotify still connected and
progressing, LMS progress stopped,
pressed >|, music plays again
9:08 music stops, -n has a new PID, same as above, pressed >|, music
plays
9:10 -n has new PID

Thanks again for all the good work!

Played a little more music. Mostly stable.
Had one occasion this afternoon, where Connect lost the connection and
the player just kept playing the same song again.
But I could reconnect right away.

About 18:50 today one of my synced players tripped again and re-booted
in the middle of playing a song. My untrained eyes didn't notice
anything striking in the log, though.
What could this be?

log files in your dropbox again.

I unticked it this morning and immediately I had my players show up in
Spotify connect.
Playing music wasn't without problems after that, which you may be able
to follow in the log. I will outline more below.

2018-10-05 Thread ElFishi

Yes. And more:
All three players unsynced, I have nine instances of "spotty-hf -c ...",
nothing to connect to in Spotify App.
Woke up one SB, started playing immediately, but still nothing under
"Connect to a Device" in Spotify.
Paused player, no change.
Started other player, started playing the last song played yesterday.
Still no device seen in Spotify.
When music plays I see three more instances of "spotty-hf -n "
Unticked and re-ticked one player in LMS/Spotty/Spotify connect, and got
that player shown to connect to in app.
Other players still not there.
Connected to that player started a playlist in Spotify: no reaction, no
music played, progress bar in app not moving.
Second attempt to start a song gets 1 second of music and then the
player trips [07:43]: amp goes off (Power Switch II) and player shows
boot screen.
When player was back I could continue to play from playlist.
Went back and unticked/ticked the other two players [07:55]. One showed
in app subsequently, the other didn't.
[07:58] music stops by itself. No device connected in app. Connected to
one player [08:01], resumed playlist.

Dropped you the server.log

I woke up one player from stand by, after that the helper got restarted.
before that there was just the minute by minute Checking messages.

I didn't trigger anything but something tripped: I use Power Switch II
to switch the mains power of my amp and preamp with the player called
SalonBox. By that time the amps went off, but the SBs kept playing. I
wasn't in the room but Goldfinger played on so I didn't notice at first.
The players ran the same song over and over and were disconnected from
the Spotify app. I went to the app, connected to my three players again,
this is when the helper seems to have restarted.

came home, connected the players from Spotify app, played one song,
playback stopped by itself.
Spotify was disconnected but I still saw the players, connected again.
Spotify shows progress bar, but I get no music.
Only 3 instances of spotty-hf -c to be seen.
connected to "This Computer" connected back to players: Lalala.
6 spotty-hf running

running as in "not in standby", actually.
all players are continuously plugged in and I only switch them on and
off by remote control.
So problem persists: in the morning all 3 PIDs were still present but no
players available in the Spotify app.
I could only connect some time after I woke up one player from standby.

deamons are still there, unchanged PID.
this morning I could reconnect to the players from spotify without
restarting.
I noticed though that it took very long for the connect option to appear
after I switched on the first player.
Without a player running there is nothing to connect to in spotify.
Maybe that was my problem all along?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-09-25 Thread ElFishi

In infrequent intervals, mostly overnight, Spotty connect goes away.

I can still stream music from spotify to the SB, but the players do not
show up in the spotify app to connect to. In htop I see 3 instances
"spotty-hf -c".
Still RPi 3, Stretch Lite, Spotty 2.4.4

when I untick the connect box for one SB in the Settings, apply the
settings, tick the box again, apply again, connect appears again and I
can stream music from the spotify app to my players. In htop I see 3
"spotty-hf -c" and 3 "spotty-hf -n Squeezebox"

every minute regardless if I play music or not.

3 players sync'ed,
6 instances of spotty-hf while playing,
3 times spotty-hf when I disconnect Spotify from the players.
All with stable PIDs

I did a regular Raspbian update and rebooted and the shutting down
messages went away.
I now get every minute

Code:

  [18-09-18 08:10:05.5009] Plugins::Spotty::Connect::DaemonManager::initHelpers
(99) Initializing/verifying Spotty Connect helper daemons…

Before I started a player there were three instances of "spotty-hf -c
/var/lib" all with stable PIDs.

After I started and stopped one player there was a fourth instance, also
with stable PID.

I have all three players ticked in Spotty Settings under Spotify
Connect.
When I run htop I see three lines with "spotty-hf -c /var/lib…" in them,
when all players are off and no music plays.
When I start a player to play music from spotify, I get additional three
lines of "spotty-hf -n Squeezebox -c /var/lib…"

not sure what "Connect enabled" means.
I use the Spotify Windows app to choose "Connect to a device, Listening
On pCP, SB1 & SB2"
All three players are synced.

Hi Michael,

recently upgraded to Spotty v2.4.4 which works most of the time. I get
random drops I still have to capture better in the logs.

What does strike me, however, is that even if I don't run any SBs or
play any music Spotty goes:

I’m traveling ATM.
But when this happened I didn’t touch LMS or the SB remote.
Only to move forward one track in the playlist, I pressed forward on the
remote.
Otherwise LMS kept repeating the same song.

right now spotty takes the first song from the queue and plays it over

forward makes it move to the next song that is then played

Raspbian Stretch Lite,
Spotty v2.1.11,
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/arm-linux/spotty-hf
(v0.9.9)

working, apart from pause in Win app, pause on SB remote works.

Raspbian Stretch Lite

Code:

sudo

 -c /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/spotty/a7912f50 -n Cabinetbox

stayed on a few minutes, shows in connect, tried to connect - no music
crashed

on a second attempt with the other SB player under user squeezeboxserver
it runs, plays no music however. The SB says Problem: Datei kann nicht
geöffnet werden.

updated to v2.1.10, spotty-muslhf (v0.9.9)

helper crashes continuously.
if I start spotty-muslhf by hand as root it actually runs, I see my
player showing up in the spotify windows app and can connect to it.
Alas it doesn't play anything. For a brief moment the filename (some
hash-garbage) shows up on the screen of the SB, but goes away
immediately.
And thats it, silence.

as user squeezeboxserver I get

Spotty keeps crashing on me.
Everything played fine until 9:55.
After that the connection dropped and never came up again despite me
trying to connect the Windows app to my SB3.

Since today Spotty doesn't go to the next track in the queue anymore but

since a few days I have problems starting spottify connect in the
morning.
I need 4 - 5 attempts to connect to my squeezebox with the "connect to a
device" function of the Windows app.
only after the last attempt the log file shows

Code:

[18-02-10 08:13:36.0033]
Plugins::Spotty::Connect::DaemonManager::startHelper (84) Need to (re-)start
Connect daemon for 00:04:20:xx:xx:xx

  [18-02-10 08:14:00.6726] Plugins::Spotty::Connect::_connectEvent (230) Got
called from spotty helper: start

I the earlier attempts the player name in the menu goes grey for a few
seconds and then the spotify app is again connected to This Computer.
There is nothing that shows in the logfile.

ooops,
this morning spotify connect again lost all players despite running

Reconnecting the players worked.

precisely.
when playing on more than one player it is unlikely that identical
volume is what you want in the first place.
in my configuration one SB3 is set to 100% anyway, b/c the preamp has
remote control.
in the other SB3 and in the pCP I control volume remotely through LMS.
this I want to do individually.
I don't expect the spotify app to handle individual volumes for
synchronised players. so LMS needs to set volume independent from
Spotify.

thanks for putting it on the list.

2018-01-18 Thread ElFishi

I run two SB3 and one pCP and can confirm that v2.0.0 mostly works as
expected.
I consistently used to lose the players from spotify connect in the
night. Now the players are there in the morning, albeit not connected.

One problem I have still is volume control. All of my players are
synchronised, but set to control their own volume.
I observe that the pCP volume is controlled by spotify while the SBs
only accept their own volume control. Whats more the pCP frequently
starts with zero volume and I need to crank it up first. My preference
would be to ignore the spotify volume in all players.

Any hints?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2018-01-09 Thread ElFishi

Michael,

thank you for your efforts and the cewl plugin to bring spotify to the
SB-verse!

For all practical purposes I can steam music and am a happy camper.

There is issues, though, I want to report and I wonder if others have
them, too.
> I stated already that every night I lose the SB players (two SB3 and
one pCP) Spotify Connect integration.
Restarting LMS or unchecking and checking the box in settings brings
back the players.
> Another issue I have is with stopping or pausing tracks.
Quite often, but not always (I can't detect a pattern yet), a track
stops only briefly when I hit pause, but then continues to play almost
immediately.
It can happen that I switch off a player and spotify switches it on
immediately.
Today I came home to find spotify play the last track of the last
playlist over and over. Don't know when that started, b/c the player was
off when I left in the morning.
There was no repeat set in LMS, the repeat must have come from spotify
(where it wasn't set either).
> Spotify can't stop when played through the squeezeboxen. After a
playlist is finished it starts at the beginning. This does not happen
when played through the spotify Windows app.

I'd be happy to hear if you experience similar things or if there is
help.

Need help with testing?
My SB devices are consistently dropped from Spottify connect every
night.
Unchecking and checking the connect box in the player settings brings
them back up.
