Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Is there a complete list of ports that need to be opened for this plugin to function correctly? I just did a new install of LMS 8.3 on CentOS 9 and while I was able to get Shairtunes2W and ChromeCast bridge working by opening specific firewall ports, I wasn't able to get this one going with just 1900/UDP plus a range of 64 starting at the base port. I ended up trusting the entire subnet in the firewall (i.e. no ports blocked) and it started working at that point, but until I did that I couldn't get the configuration to generate. Thanks anyway - this is a great plugin. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Using iPeng on iOS 15, I don't have lock screen controls. Unlike every other audio app I use, the lock screen is usually blank when I am playing something to a Squeezebox device from iPeng using my iPhone/iPad. I think I get them briefly after interacting with iPeng, but they don't last long. This didn't start with iOS 15 - I don't remember ever consistently having lock screen controls for iPeng. Just thought I would ask about it today :) Is this a known issue or is there a known fix? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Community Firmware for Squeezebox Radio/Touch/Controller and LMS 8
I appreciate the efforts on breathing more life into this platform, but wanted to mention an issue I noticed on both my Touch and Radio with this firmware. Basically, I bought a couple of digital albums on iTunes recently and when I listened to them on both devices, both devices had semi-random pops (almost like a loud vinyl crackle) in the audio during playback across the whole album. When I checked some of my older iTunes purchases, they all did similar things. iTunes files are all M4A - often around 256kbps. It doesn't seem like an LMS issue - when I play the same albums to a Sonos using iPeng and the DLNA plug-in, the album sounds fine. Same when listening on iPeng locally via my iPhone's speaker. All devices and LMS were restarted to see if it would fix the issue, but it didn't. This possibly started happening after installing the latest version, but can't confirm for sure. I don't listen to local music all that often these days, but I'm fairly certain that this isn't related to the Community Firmware in general - I believe the previous purchases have worked fine at some point on a previous Community Firmware version - I just can't say which version triggered it if that is true. Anyway, when I switched back to the official firmware (Radio 7.7.3, Touch 7.8.0), the problem went away on both devices. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113479 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So if you go to the YouTube app, copy a URL, and switch to iPeng, within a few seconds it will offer to play the URL on the clipboard. It works great with the YouTube plugin. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
I currently have a Sonos Move on my network that I have used the UPnP plugin with to integrate with my Squeezebox system. That part works well. However, I believe this UPnP target is being picked up by ShairTunes as a player to be turned into an AirPlay target as per the below process: squeeze+ 65190 65142 0 13:05 ?00:00:00 /bin/avahi-publish-service [removed]@*Move *_raop._tcp 36890 36890 tp=UDP sm=false sv=false ek=1 et=0,1 md=0,1,2 cn=0,1 ch=2 ss=16 sr=44100 pw=false vn=3 txtvers=1 am=shairtunes2 Assuming that assumption is correct, in the Squeezebox web UI under *Advanced *> *ShairTunes2 (fork)* I don't see the Move listed as a target to be enabled/disabled - it only shows my physical Squeezebox players. Any thoughts on whether my assumptions about ShairTunes picking this up are correct, and whether there might be any solution if so? It's an issue because the Move has built-in AirPlay 2 support, so I get two AirPlay targets on my iOS devices and I'm never sure which is the authentic one (the above one often doesn't work). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pocketcasts
Not a direct solution, but FYI... I've used a couple of things to integrate Pocketcasts with Squeezebox, coming from an Apple perspective: - Chromecast Audio connected to Squeezebox Line In and use Chromecast to play podcasts (iOS app supports Chromecast) - Shairtunes plugin for Squeezebox to play Pocketcasts running on iPhone to Squeezebox via AirPlay AirPlay is easiest - the Chromecast support in PocketCasts is a bit flaky, at least on the iOS side, and the native controls for AirPlay are better in the Apple world. Chromecast is also second-best because of the need to use Line In - the integration of Line In isn't as smooth as the Shairtunes integration with it being a plugin. With Shairtunes, you also get volume integration (i.e. volume control on the iPhone controls the SB volume) and turning off the SB pauses playing on the mobile. I'm not sure a plugin would be easier than these things - especially not the AirPlay interface - as the mobile UIs are great, Up Next works, you can pick up whichever iOS device is handy and get going, and you can easily switch between playing on the SB and playing on-device when you want to leave the room and continue listening elsewhere. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
Just a general comment on connectivity issues. I'm running this plugin with SBS 7.9 on Linux (CentOS 7) and while it does connect to players that have recently been powered on, I find that players powered on for a long time will cease to be reachable from iOS, even though they continue to show in the AirPlay menu on the iOS device (the connection to the AirPlay device will timeout). It's feasible to end up in a situation where players powered up for weeks do not work, but those that were powered on recently (and therefore have recently-spawned avahi processes) do work. I seem to be able to resolve this by killing the associated avahi processes for the older players and recycling SBS. Appreciate the work on this plugin - it's a nice option to have when it works. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I can share details if anyone is interested, but it seems like I'm in a significant minority :) mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

This came after listening uninterrupted with AAC native enabled for 20+ mins without any issues. Just to add - I generally don't have problems with my WiFi network and any of my SB players. I have a Boom and Classic on the same floor and regularly listen to other streams uninterrupted for hours. As mentioned previously, with the hack to the previous plugin to revert to 'mplayer' (PlayHLS) for the FLAC conversion, I was also OK in that case as well. I did have an issue with the stream stopping after anywhere from 20-50 mins, but that wasn't clearly a rebuffering issue - the stream just stopped. This only seems to be a problem with live streams (I mainly use Radio Four). Listen Again doesn't have the same issues with the same config that produces issues in the live stream. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It's connected by wireless. A few recaps / info: - Issue only occurs with Boom. Radio on the same network works fine with the same iPlayer build. Only obvious difference to me is that Radio can play AAC directly whereas Boom needs transcoding. - I was able to make the issue go away with a previous iPlayer build by changing altering the plugin to have HLS be handled by PlayHLS, which I believe offloads HLS processing to 'ffmpeg'. Haven't tried that approach with this build yet. This usually resulted in the stream needing to be restarted after anywhere from 20-45 mins but didn't have rebuffering issues. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
As with many others, I appreciate the work going on by bpa and others to keep this plugin up to date. Just wanted to mention that I have the same issue with the DASH streaming as I had with the HLS streaming - that is, that on the legacy players like Boom that require transcoding due to fewer native formats, there is frequent buffering and the stream is essentially unlistenable. On newer players like Radio, it works fine. I'm using the non-UK streams. And, it's a pretty powerful server (Core i7-3770, 32GB RAM, Windows Server 2012, OS and LMS running from SSD) with no sustained competing loads and no observed CPU contention. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

bpa wrote: > The post is good but can be misleading in places.. Sure - I wasn't trying to imply that the transcoding load was being decreased, just that there was one less process in the pipeline (i.e. using AAC -> FLAC, both faad and flac were used in conjunction, whereas with AAC -> MP3, I only saw one FAAD process running). I guess the processing load would be similar, but I was just trying to determine whether any of the codecs in the pipeline were causing the issue... so by removing one factor (i.e. the separate flac binary), it seemed useful. > ffmpeg and faad use the same library so no difference in audio decoding > processing load. Maybe I should have specified - I'm running this on a Core i7-4770 with SSDs and 32GB RAM and very little concurrent load during the testing. This is on Windows Server 2012 R2. For DNS, I'm using the Windows Server DNS service which relays to my ISP for external lookups. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103435 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm a > bit too lazy to replicate the whole menu structure. +1 I'm having a similar issue. After a bunch of diagnosis today, here's what I've found so far: As with you, the previous PlayHLS method using 'ffmpeg' worked perfectly. Since updating to the 1.3 line of triode's plugin, I'm not able to play the non-UK streams without rebuffering every 10 seconds or so on Boom Problem only happens on Boom (and I guess other "classics") and not Radio. It breaks my ability to sync Live streams across these different generations of players. Key difference between Radio and Boom is that Radio consumes AAC directly while Boom needs to transcode via 'faad' My default transcode setting for Boom had AAC transcoded to FLAC, causing a pipe into 'faad' and then into 'flac'. I tried changing the transcode to MP3 (i.e. disabling AAC->FLAC) so that only 'faad' was used. Only 'faad' was used, but the problem persisted. When the rebuffering occurs, the existing 'faad' process dies and a new one is spawned So, from what I can tell, the issue seems related to the HLS handler in conjunction with transcoding (perhaps specifically related to AAC transcode by 'faad', but I didn't do enough testing to prove this). I was able to get this working again by: Modifying 1.13a3 iPlayer.pm to bypass the iPlayer HLS handler (set content type to 'hls' on line 202 and disable the URL modification near lines 196-197) This essentially reverts to PlayHLS for HLS handling, which goes directly from HLS to FLAC for the transcode using 'ffmpeg'. This is a bit hack-ish, but it works so far in my case and I can again listen live to the non-UK streams on classic players as well as sync multi-generational players on the Live streams. I haven't tested the plugin functionality comprehensively after making this change, so I don't know if it will break anything else. I had also tried leaving the content type as 'aac' and modifying custom.conf to have 'ffmpeg' handle AAC streams instead of 'faad'. This also worked, and would alleviate the need for PlayHLS, but you'd still need 'ffmpeg' (which is a custom add-on). Note: my HLS streams have been stopping intermittently (i.e. every 5, 20, 15 mins, etc.) since making this change. Setting the playlist to repeat mitigates it. I don't know if it's a problem due to the above changes, or whether the BBC streams are having issues tonight. mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103435 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If anyone's sky conditions are messed up, try the attached... After my fix above, my sky conditions (i.e. TONIGHT: CLEAR) were messed up and were showing temps instead because of some other class changes in the Weather.com page. I also added an alternate similar to the previously-added severe weather workaround, as my area has severe weather right now and the sky conditions field now has a severe class whereas I don't think it did before. +---+ |Filename: Plugin.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=12169| +---+ -- mbg mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR Blaster problem following upgrade to 7.5.1
I've been having problems with this, too, although I didn't notice it until recently. Previously, I had a Boom, and two Classics 3s and had been upgrading each version of SBS as they were released, eventually arriving at 7.5.2. Yesterday, I added a Touch to my network (temporarily replacing one of my Classic 3s). I reinstalled SBS from scratch (7.5.2), as well as the plugins I use, including IR-Blaster 5.6.1. I know IR Blaster will not work with Touch, but now it won't work with my Classic 3 that I used to use it with, too. When I choose IR-Blaster from the Player settings menu for my Classic 3, it jumps back to the previous settings page. When I choose IR-Learning wizard, it shows This player does not support IR-Blaster functionality. I know IR-Blaster doesn't work with Touch. I am trying to use it with my Classic 3, which I have used the plugin successfully with before. If this is a version-related problem, my previous install must have survived the upgrades. It's only showing up now that I've done a clean install of SBS 7.5.2 (and 7.5.1). As a previous poster mentioned, maybe I'll try 7.5.0. -- mbg mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81585 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Please click here to restart the server now. 5. Goto 1 What happens is, because the install.xml file for v5.8.9 of the plugin was not updated to reflect the new version number, it installs v5.8.9 but does not recognize that it has done so because the install.xml file specifies the version to be v5.8.8. If you go into the plugin cache dir (i.e. C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\SuperDateTime) and look in the 'lib' directory, you'll probably see some hint that you have v5.8.9 by checking the timestamp of the file(s) in there. If so, to get rid of the problem, you can edit install.xml in the plugin cache dir (above)..just change 5.8.8 to 5.8.9 and the updated plugins available message will go away, and the correct version will show for the plugin. You will have to restart Squeezeserver or whatever it's called this month for it to take effect. -- mbg mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
