Hi Greg I'm a keen user of your Squeezebox client As I'm sure you know, squeezelite on Windows has a bit of a connectivity issue, which Squeezelite-X I think inherited. If you have not tried this, go into settings and enable advanced settings and toggle Clear Cache and press OK, you will be prompted to restart, say yes. In my case I switched from using the legacy installer to the MS Store installer. Not sure if that makes a difference in this case. When I uninstall anything I use Revo Uninstaller. The normal MS uninstall process does not clean the registry sufficiently. Plus Revo has options to clean browser caches as well. Now a request for R Greg Dawson. In the standard LMS interface under MyMusic there is an option to play tracks by "Folder". Is it possible to add that to your interface? Advantages of Store version: The store app will update automatically from the store. I'm not long re-visiting LMS having been away for a few years. Squeezelite-X seems to be just what I'm after for a desktop controller/player with one pretty significant "bug". If I'm using it as a player and a decide to switch to my noise cancelling headphones it refuses to switch output devices to the headphones. Literally everything else switches without issue. Is there are workaround for this or another similar app that behaves as I would like? The legacy installer will delete SLX's private browser cache on uninstall and I think that is what actually fixed your problem. In considering this scenario, it occurred to me that it might have been more difficult if you experienced the issue with the Store app in the first place, because the Store App will not delete the cache on uninstall. There does not appear to be a way of doing such a thing with a store app. The cache cannot be in the Store App installation location because that is protected from the WebView2 browser engine and it does not get deleted on uninstall because it is not part of the Store app's virtual file structure. I'm researching it, but in the meantime, I'm making a change for the next version to get the cache cleared after re-installing the Store version. The change works by noticing that a registry setting is missing (which would be the case after an uninstall/install) and so clears the cache. For those switching between the legacy installer and the Store App, I recommend always uninstalling one before installing the other. I had a problem with Squeezelite-X, it crashed on me. Now, if I open Squeezelite-X, then it shows up in the taskbar below, but inaccessible. I see in Task Manager that I have now 4 instances running. When killing the application, I am able to start up Squeezelite-X and everything runs fine. Just mentioning it. FYI, I replaced 2.11.25 with 2.11.28 to fix a little font scaling issue in one to the Denon control menus and some unwanted logging that I forgot to turn off. I think I have the same dock. Have you tried doing an update on the dock? On mine, I thought the dock updated itself when I connected and found out I had to manually update. Wasnt sure if there was a setting and didnt look hard enough since I ended up replacing my Surface shortly after. I just fired up an older laptop and installed Squeeezelite-X. It's really nice. One issue I'm trying to work through is trying to get it to play through and old USB FiiO DAC I have. Windows recognizes it, and it shows up 3 times in the Squeezelite-X options. I can't get any of those settings to output the sound. Any ideas on where to start? The latest release (v4.7.1) includes support for streaming to and controlling multiple AVR zones from one LMS player, as well as an option to specify an AVR input source instead of a Quick Select command to be used when the AVR is powered on. Full support for Marantz AVR's has also been added in the Audio settings menu. Some explanation... This is complicated. The Windows API does not
offer any method or API to programmatically control whether the tray
icon appears or is in the hidden area. The default is to locate the
tray icon in the hidden area, which is why it reverts there after an
update/re-install. It should remain/"stick" on reboots, though, so your
comment above caught my attention. I was able reproduce your
observation that the icon went back to the hidden area on computer
restart. I went into Settings|Personalize|TaskBar - Notification Area -
"Select which icons appear on the taskbar". In my case I noticed that I
had SLX in this list several times. That is because I build and test
multiple configurations of SLX: Win32/Win64/Store Version/regular
version. Windows seems to remember any program it has ever seen. When
I clicked them all on, then the icon stayed in the tray.
You may see programs listed in "Select which icons appear on the
taskbar" area that have long since been uninstalled and/or are no longer
on your system. They are very trick to remove ('answers.microsoft.com'

If you have ever switch between the Store version and the Traditional
version, you may see them both there. I'd say try clicking them
both/all on. YMMV. Anyway, this is a Windows thing. There is nothing

I would like for Squeezelite-X to be always visible in the tray, I set it as such in Windows under Settings, Personalization, Taskbar, Select which icons appear on the taskbar. And it works. My problem is I have to do this after every reboot, because for some reason the setting is not saved. In Modern Standby, the application does not know the computer has gone into standby mode (by design). On my Surface device, there is a momentary network glitch (Network Not Available) when the computer leaves standby mode. I have seen this foul up SLX on rare occasion and I had to restart SLX. One of these days, I'll get around to figuring it out, but it is impossible to replicate in my dev environment. There is probably an interface I can implement in order get notification from the OS what is going on and then react accordingly, at least that is what I am hoping. Anyway, this situation is specific to "Modern Standby" not regular sleep/hibernate, etc. Just wondering. The volume modulating is a strange issue. I know that my pi are all SUPER picky about audio cables (one has an external dac and it is fine). I get static if i look at it incorrectly or rotate the plug. I have cleaned it with contact cleaner and still the same issue, across all of my pis... In my case, it is not a time syncing problem, rather the volume modulates in and out. Of course, all my Windows boxes have SLX. So I was curious if you had SLX driving 4 instances of squeezelite all on the same box using that soundcard, would they sync OK, at least among themselves.
