Your image indicates a computer whose language is not set to English. So I would guess that English is not your first language, and you have missed the significance of the word respectively I did look at that readme file a while ago, though I forget the full details. I think it referred to two different setups , and respectively means If you have the first setup, put the file in the first place mentioned If you have the second setup, put the file in the second place mentioned. I don't recall what the two setups are, maybe it is Windows and Linux as you suggest, maybe it is two closely related boxes. -- danco danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34573 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alienbbc error log Interrogation
You just have to create a custom-convert.conf and copy it to the SS folder (/volume1/Slimserver and \\diskstation\Slimserver, respectively). I'm not 100% sure if this was correct use of English. But it is meant as follows: - /volume1/SlimServer is the internal path on the DS, the path the programmes on the DS see and use, the path you would enter in a telnet terminal. - \\diskstation\SlimServer is the external path, the network path, the path you would enter in the Explorer (or in Konqueror probably //diskstation/SlimServer), where diskstation is the network name or the IP address of your DS So ..and.., respectively means either this path or that path, depending on the view point (internal vs. external). Anybody around who can explain this? Anyway, you somehow managed to copy the AlienBBC folder to the right place (i.e. the Plugins folder in the SS folder). Well, and just one level up is the place where the .conf file goes. And the screenshot indicates that AlienBBC and the .conf have been installed correctly. And it still doesn't work? bpa's suggestions about the debug options might help. I cannot see anything related in the log files and Sysinfo, too. -- flipflip Check out flipflip's 'SlimServer On DiskStation (SSODS)' (http://oinkzwurgl.org/ssods/)! flipflip's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5223 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34573 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alienbbc error log Interrogation
From the log - it seems Slimserver is not handling the rpm extension properly (i.e. assume mp3 instead of parsing the rpm file). This is controlled by the file custom-types.conf. Where is this file on your system ? If you are running 6.3.1 then it should be in the same directory as convert.conf and slimserver-convert.conf. If you are running 6.5.x - the file should be in Plugins/Alien -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34573 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alienbbc error log Interrogation
From a previous post I see the system is 6.5.1 To clarify the issues about rpm handling - can you do the same log but with a d_parse as well d_plugins, d_source and d_remotestream. Are you doing any other d_ option because the database messages should not be appearing with the options I suggested earlier ? Since you say Slimserver crashed after looking at a BBC station - it makes wonder about the Slimserver installation being corrupted in some way. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34573 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alienbbc error log Interrogation
Your AlienBBC install looks OK since your gets lots of stations and the log shows it tries to play the right URL. Your RTSP settings look OK - only RTSP-WAV should be ticked. This is because CPU power of smaller system (e.g. DS-106) doesn't have the power to re-encode WAV stream into MP3 or Flac on the fly. It is also the reason why there is a an error where it can't find mplayer.sh - that custom-convert.conf file entry was not updated to use mplayer-stdout since it will never be used on SSODS. The bit in the log I find strange is Code: pcm:nowaveheader:file=- rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio4/live/r4_dsat_g2.ra 2/dev/null 2007-04-18 20:04:04.1672 openSong: remoteURL is a song : rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio4/live/r4_dsat_g2.ra 2007-04-18 20:04:04.1871 undermax = 1, type = wav, squeezebox2 = 00:04:20:06:d3:73 2007-04-18 20:04:04.1927 checking formats for: wav-wma-squeezebox2-00:04:20:06:d3:73 2007-04-18 20:04:04.1955 checking formats for: wav-wma-*-00:04:20:06:d3:73 SS has started to try to play RTSP (i.e. BBC stream) and then it suddenly starts looking for a WAV translation - I think this can happen if there is a failure to start the playing app. To run mplayer standalone try this. You first need to cd to the directory which has the mplayer-stdout binary Code: ./mplayer-stdout -cache 64 -ao pcm:file=/dev/null -playlist http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.rpm If it runs and elapsed time increments then mplayer has access to BBC . -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34573 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

d_info and d_scan provide no useful info wrt AlienBBC. You need a log with d_plugins, d_source and d_remotestream. Since you provide no details on what part of AlienBBC is not working - first check. 1. Does mplayer work standalone ? 2. Do you have checked RTSP entries in Server Setting/Filetypes - which ones are checked ? 3. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alienbbc error log Interrogation
I didn't know what you meant by SSODS, so I Googled for it, and found the item and the related readme.txt. The problem seems to be that the instructions for installing AlienBBC really are not the full instructions but only mention the changes needed in this installation from the standard installation. So, you need to get hold of AlienBBC, which presumably you got from the AlienBBC section of the Plugins page, and combine the installation instructions given there with the instructions in the SSODS readme.txt The specific problem is that the readme.txt, because it is referring to a whole bunch of plugins, just suggests that they should be in a Plugins folder inside the slimserver folder. But steps 2 and 3 of the AlienBBC installation instructions say the the downloaded tar file has to be untarred and put in the slimserver folder, and in fact they are slightly inaccurate if a Plugins folder or a Bin folder already exist. What you need to do is have the Alien folder inside a Plugins folder in your slimserver folder, and the file mplayer.sh in a Bin folder in the slimserver folder. What I can't see is how come you don't have an mplayer.sh file, unless it exists in your untarred download but has not been copied/moved to its proper place. As far as I can see, you don't need to download mplayer as this is part of the SSODS installation, but you do need to edit the custom-convert.conf file because the installed mplayer has a slightly unusual name. I can't speak about checking shares, as I don't know precisely what is needed. You should look at the main AlienBBC instructions and the SSODS instructions and you should be able to work this bit out. -- danco danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34573 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
